Multiple result grids?

Is is possible to show multiple result sets in the grid portion of the screen...?
Looks like no, but maybe someone knows a way.
For instance
Select * from foo;
Select * from bar;
execute them and then see 2 seperate grids in the Results pane (Like SQL Server Management Studio)
I ask because I find the grid more useful thaqn script output in such cases.

DC

You can't do this at the moment, but there is an accepted enhancement request to implement it.
See this.
Accepted means they will do it sometime, but it is not scheduled for an particular release.

    Hi,
    This can be done even i have done a report.
    Its very simple create three containers as below.
    Just repeat three times if u need to create three containers.
    See this sample code using custom container.

  • Multiple Quizzes with multiple results (in Captivate 6)

    Hey guys, Thanks for reading!
    Does anyone know if it is possible to do multiple tests with multiple results in captivate 6? or if it is possible to have a pre-test with a quiz, and have separate results for each?
    I've been having a play with captivate 6 and when I put a quiz in, it overrides the results slide for my pre-test.
    Looking at the results slide master properties I can choose to have results for one of my quizzes but not both (even on separate slides):
    It wont even let me insert another slide based on the other result.
    I would like to know if multiple quizzes with multiple results is possible in Captivate 6?, or if I am simply doing something wrong?
    Thanks!

    Sorry for way-late reply...
    It's really more how your LMS handles 'courses' and the terminology it uses.
    Essentially, most often, a 'SCORM Package' (SCO) is a 'course'. I'd rather call each SCO a 'lesson' as, to me, 'courses' should be setup in the LMS with a series of 'Lessons'.
    Regardless of the terminology, each 'SCO' is launched by the LMS and one score can be recorded for it via SCORM.
    So if you need multiple final scores recorded, each of those final scores need to be in their own SCO.
    A common approach is a Pre-Test SCO (or 'lesson', or 'course', whatever term), a 'Content' SCO perhaps with some interspersed scored interactions, and a Post-Test SCO...all three merged together as a 'course' (or whatever term) within the LMS.
    That said, as said, it really all depends on how your LMS handles various SCOs...
    Clear as mud?

  • SQL Query -How2bring multiple results into one field using Formatted Search

    Hi Everyone
    i am trying to bring in the results of the field dbo.Lot_ITEM.LOT using a formatted search into a row level using the following query:
    SELECT     dbo.LOT_ITEM.LOT
    FROM       dbo.DLN1 INNER JOIN dbo.LOT_ITEM ON dbo.DLN1.ItemCode = dbo.LOT_ITEM.ITEM
    WHERE     dbo.LOT_ITEM.ITEM=$[DLN1.ItemCode]
    however the result of the dbo.Lot_ITEM.LOT field could be more then one value depending on how many lots are assigned for that item
    (for example this query would be similar to assigning batch/serial numbers to an item being despatched - as you can choose multiple batches/serials depending on the quantities available and required and then move from the left to the right side of the selection window) if that makes sense!
    is it possible to bring in the multiple results into one field? and how can i amend the above query to include this?
    Thankyou in advance :o)

    Hi Suda
    Thanks for replying :o) but im not sure about the query?
    just to simplify it (as the query im working with is to do with 3rd party addons) i have used the serial/batchs field instead and used standard demo database fields from SBO 2005 sp01:
    SELECT     dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.SRI1_IntrSerial
    FROM       dbo.DLN1 INNER JOIN
                    dbo.ixvSerialNoFact ON dbo.DLN1.DocEntry = dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.SRI1_BaseEntry
    WHERE     dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.ItemCode='g1000' and dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.SRI1_BaseEntry = '193'
    The above brings me the relevant results but when i change it to be used in a formatted search:
    SELECT     dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.SRI1_IntrSerial
    FROM       dbo.DLN1 INNER JOIN
                    dbo.ixvSerialNoFact ON dbo.DLN1.DocEntry = dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.SRI1_BaseEntry
    WHERE     dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.ItemCode=$[dln1.itemcode] and dbo.ixvSerialNoFact.SRI1_BaseEntry = $[dln1.DocEntry]
    i cant seem to get it to work - now this may be because the serial number is not allocated until teh record is added to the system, however when this happens i am unable to go back in and manually trigger the query as the delivery note rows cannot be selected!
    i  think as what im originally wanting an answer for is same as this example, im wanting to know if this is even possible?
    Thanks

    HI,
    Create multiple custom containers and call the method   CALL METHOD sap_grid->set_table_for_first_display multiple times.
    This will display multiple ALV grids on a single page.

  • Viewing multiple results in Spotlight search in messages

    When I perform a spotlight search for certain words in Messages it returns multiple results with multiple people.  How do I view each conversation?  I have 18 results with one person but can only view one conversation out of the 18 when I click?  Thanks!

    Hi,
    I am confused as to where you are starting from.
    Spotlight is the Search App that can be accessed top right in the Menu Bar with the spyglass type icon.
    It does not matter which app is "front" it will Search all the allowed places (mostly the Mac User account info and on other Mounted Drives).
    There is a Search option in the Main Window of the Messages App
    This will change the list to show those Chats with the word in them.
    It will highlight one when you View that Chat.
    Using the Edit Menu > Find > Next  (or Use the Keystrokes CMD+ F) will cycle the found word through as many chats as have been found.
    Same List of Chats without the Search Criteria listed
    (No Highlighted Text).

  • Stored Procedure With Multiple Result Sets As Report Source : Crosspost

    Hello Everyone,
    I have an issue where i have created a stored procedure that returns multiple result sets
    /* Input param = @SalesOrderID */
    SELECT * FROM Orders TB1
      INNER JOIN OrderDetails TB2 ON  TB1.ID = TB2.ID
    WHERE TB1.OrderID = @SalesOrderID
    SELECT * FROM Addresses
      WHERE Addresses.OrderID = @SalesOrderID AND Addresses.AddressType = 'Shipping'
    SELECT * FROM Addresses
      WHERE Addresses.OrderID = @SalesOrderID AND Addresses.AddressType = 'Billing'
    This is just a quick sample, the actual procedure is a lot more complex but this illustrates the theory.
    When I set the report source in Crystal X to the stored procedure it is only allowing me to add rows from the first result set.
    Is there any way to get around this issue?
    The reason that I would prefer to use a stored procedure to get all the data is simply performance. Without using one big stored procedure I would have to run at least 6 sub reports which is not acceptable because the number of sub reports could grow exponentially depending on the number of items for a particular sales order.
    Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated.
    TIA
        - Adam
    P.S
    Sorry for the cross post, I originally posted this question [here|/community [original link is broken];
    but was informed that it might be the wrong forum
    Edited by: Adam Harris on Jul 30, 2008 9:44 PM

    Adam, apologies for the redirect, but it is better to have .NET posts in one place. That way anyone can search the forum for answers. (and I do not have the rights to move posts).
    Anyhow, as long as the report is created, you should be able to pass the datasets as:
    crReportDocument.Database.Tables(0).SetDataSource(dataSet.Tables("NAME_OF_TABLE"))
    Of course alternatively, (not sure if this is possible in your environment) you could create a multi-table ADO .NET dataset and pass that to the report.

  • 4.0 EA2 - Autofit not working properly in Query Result grid

    Hi,
    in 4.0 EA2 the Autofit isn't working properly in Query Result grid.
    Rather than shrinking columns to the narrowest size that accommodates headings and contents (as per 3.2), it auto-expands to fit the whole data query grid.
    It looks worse, and makes it harder to see results at a glance.

    Bug and will be fixed for v4 release.

  • Why awful gray color of data results grid in the 1.1.23.64 ?

    SQL Developer 1.1.23.64 Production is a great product. Really great. It will enormously boost the popularity of Oracle database. Hence, it is not understandable:
    1. why SQL Developer development team insists on awful gray color of data results grid? It spoils very good look-and-feeling of SQL Developer IDE. The best solution would be to provide it as an option in Tools\Preferences
    2. why font size of Help file is still too small and unreadable, specially on Linux platform (RHEL-4.4, Sun Java jdk1.5.0_10) ?
    Cheers
    Albert

    Albert,
    Were you also getting a grey color in the SQLWorksheet portion of the IDE? When I hit f9 after entering a script, the script portion turns an ugly gray color, but the results grid looks fine. I'm trying to figure out if your issue is the same as mine.
    Thanks!

  • 30EA2/30EA1 : Selection Behavior on Master-Detail Result Grid

    Hi,
    Tested on both Win XP and Win 7, SQL Dev with the included jre.
    I notice quite annoying behavior on Master-Detail Result Grid.
    This happen on either Report with master-detail layout (i.e Active Session from the built-in report), popup describe on several tabs, and objet viewer especially on Table's Partition tab.
    Here are the things :
    1. Why made the selection on header result cell lose its focus after selecting one?
    I understand, that SQL Dev needs to re-query for displaying the detail.
    But why not made the selection focus, goes back to the selected (shown by the rectangular yellow line around the cell) header cell ?
    2. Point 1 leads to another problem.
    In order to copy the cell value, we have to click once again to select the cell value (shown by the rectangular yellow line around the cell) from the master grid and press CTRL + C.
    What a waste extra effort here.
    Moreover, I noticed some strange thing on object viewer Table - Partition tab.
    It is really hard to copy the cell value from this tab, i.e copying the partition name value.
    Everytime I press CTRL + C to copy its content, suddenly the cell goes to edit mode, which is read-only of course. CTRL + V to paste seems does not work, like it has nothing in the clipboard to be copied.
    And, navigating the cursor from this point would cause the pointer goes to the last character of the cell content, as well as selecting the content using CTRL + Home, is useless.
    Is it because there is no detail record on the detail (in this case Subpartition) tab?
    However Partition tab on Popup Describe, which supposed to have the same behavior, CTRL + C works just fine.
    Is this an expected behavior?

    Buntoro

    Hi Raghu,
    RaghvendraSaboo wrote:
    When changing selection in Master grid, the Child grid is repopulated. This also cause the Master grid to lose focus which makes navigating & copying from master requiring to select a cell in it again.
    Right ?
    Yes. That's right.
    I see, you use Child as referred to me as Detail, on which I get the name from Reports (when create User Defined Reports on SQL Dev, there shows Master on the top panel and below is Detail. :-)
    If yes, this is the same issue as reported in other thread where executing Statement Runner in worksheet, the worksheet loses the focus & the results grid gets the focus.
    The grid has got focus hungry & I am fixing it.Maybe this explains, why there is a small delay before showing the result grid.
    I tried to compare from SQL Dev 2.1.1 and 3.0EA1.
    3.0EA1 gets a little late (a second maybe) when displaying the result.
    For the last item, here are the things :
    1. From the Schema Browser (Left Hand Side), expand Tables.
    2. Select a partitioned table from the tree, there shown Object Viewer (on Right Hand Side) for that Table. -- I use the term Object Viewer as shown on the Preferences : Automatically Freeze Object Viewer Windows
    3. Select Partitions tab
    4. Click a cell on Master grid, there you go the losen focus
    5. Now, click once again to select
    6. Press Ctrl + C
    7. It suddenly change to cell's edit mode (of course its read-only cell)
    Navigating the cursor from this point would cause the pointer goes to the last character of the cell content, as well as selecting the content using CTRL + Home, is useless
    8. Now, go to the worksheet, and press Ctrl + V, nothing happens as if the copied cell doesn't get into the clipboard.

  • Handling Multiple Result Sets

    Hi
    I have a problem while handling multiple result sets. To fix that problem i need to upgrade my JDBC version2.0 to 4.0.
    My Problem is that i dont know which jars need to be downloaded to upgrade my JDBC version.

  • Find multiple results?

    In " Find Finder Items
    Where copy is equal to "xxxxxxxx"
    can i put in multiple results separated by a comma (1234,1235,1236 etc.) and have them found and acted on in sequence?

    Oops, looks like Tiger's Find Finder Items doesn't pass on the results from previous actions. In that case, you can query Spotlight from a Run Shell Script action, such as:
    mdfind 'kMDItemFSName == "1234"cw || kMDItemFSName == "1235"cw' -onlyin ~/Documents
    This will find file names with the specified text in your user's Documents folder. You will need to use the correct metadata tag depending on what you are searching for.

  • Why can't I see these results in the results grid

    If I run the pl/sql below as a script F5 I can see the results of the "select * from TestOutput", but If I execute it with F9 I don't see any results in the results grid. Anybody know why? Thanks in advance for any help.
    CREATE TABLE TestOutput (val1 varchar2(50), val2 varchar2(255) , numval1 NUMBER, numval2 NUMBER);
    DECLARE
    SomeText VARCHAR2(255);
    BEGIN
    SomeText := 'Hello';
    INSERT INTO TestOutput VALUES ('yadayada', SomeText, 1, 1);
    INSERT INTO TestOutput VALUES ('yadayada', SomeText, 2, 2);
    INSERT INTO TestOutput VALUES ('yadayada', SomeText, 3, 3);
    END;
    select * from TestOutput;
    drop table TestOutput;

    I think that you he is executing all the commands of a time, selecting everything and click in F9 or F5.
    If he will be this, this behavior is correct.
    Ps.:
    F5 - scripts.
    F9 - alone statements (not to be that they are separate for semicolons).

  • Working with multiple results of a complex query

    Hi all!
    As I "advance" in learning PL/SQL with oracle, I now get stuck in handling multiple results of a complex query. As far as I know, I cannot use a cursor here, as there is no table where the cursor could point to.
    Here is the concept of what I want to do (pseudocode):
    foreach result in SELECT * FROM table_1, table_n WHERE key_1 = foreign_key_in_n;
        -- do someting with the resultHere is my attemt, that freezes the browser gui and throws an internal database error:
    declare
        type t_stock is record(
                baggage_id  baggage.baggage_id%type,
                section_id  sections.section_id%type,
                shelf_id    shelves.shelf_id%type
        v_stock t_stock;
        rcnt number(2);
    begin
    dbms_output.put_line(TO_CHAR(rcnt));
    loop
         SELECT COUNT(*) INTO rcnt FROM (
                   SELECT baggage.baggage_id, sections.section_id, shelves.shelf_id
                   FROM baggage, sections, shelves
                   WHERE baggage.baggage_id = sections.contained_baggage_id
                        AND shelves.is_connex_to_section_id = sections.section_id);
         IF rcnt <= 0 THEN
              exit;
         END IF;
         SELECT baggage.baggage_id, sections.section_id, shelves.shelf_id INTO v_stock
         FROM baggage, sections, shelves
         WHERE baggage.baggage_id = sections.contained_baggage_id
              AND shelves.is_connex_to_section_id = sections.section_id
              AND ROWNUM < 2;
         UPDATE sections SET contained_baggage_id = NULL WHERE section_id = v_stock.baggage_id;
         commit; -- do I need that?
    end loop;
    END;
    /So, is there a way to traverse a list of results from a complex query? Maybe without creating a temporary table (or is that the better way?).
    regards, Alex
    I reformatted the code
    pktm

    Ok, here are the details:
    The tables are used to model kind of a transport system. There are terminals connected with sections that may contain 1 piece of baggage. The baggage is moved by a procedure through a transport system. After each of these "moving steps", I check if the baggage is in front of the shelf it should be in.
    [To be honest, the give statement doesn't contain the info, in which shelf the baggage wil bee inserted. That was spared out because of the lack of a working piece of code :)]
    But: if we consider the fact, that a baggage is in front of such a shelf in the way, that it should be put in this shelf, then all this makes some sense.
    - move baggae through a transport system
    - see if you can put baggage into a shelf
    In order to "put baggage in a shelf", I need to remove it from the transport section. As the transport system is not normalized, I need to update the section where the baggage was in.
    Uhm... yes it's a task that doesn't make too much sense. It seems to be some kind of general spirit in university homework :)
    But: the FOR r IN (Statement) lloks good. I'll use that.
    And, the ROWNUM < 2 is used to limit the size of the result to 1, there is no need to have a specific ordering. It's just because - afaik - oracle doesn't have a limit clause. I would appreciate your help if you know a better way to do limit resultsets.
    best regards, Alex
