Multiple rows EIT using Personalization

Any inputs or documents for add multiple rows custom EIT self service applications (iRecruitment)
After creating custom eit for multiple rows and registering in core app, how to add the EIT
using personalization so as to allow viewing and adding records ?
Help appreciated.
Thanks

  • ADF multiple row selection using checkbox

    One of the basic feature missing in ADF 11g is multiple row selection using checkbox (ADF supports multiple row selection by CTRL+CLICK) and business users doesn't like the idea of CTRL+CLICK especially when the volume of click is more. Our requirement is to show the records as selected, on click of checkbox. We implemented multiple row selection by giving a checkbox and on submission, iterate all the rows and filter only selected rows for further processing. The approach works fine,but it is very slow when the volume of data is more, say 10 thousand rows. For 4 thousand records, iterating everything takes more than 200 secs !
    Had the multiple row selection been the ADF standard way using CTRL+CLICK, and retrieving the selected rows using method theTable.getSelectedRowKeys() works much faster (completes in millisecs for 4 thousand records). Somehow ADF fetches the selected records much faster this way. Our requirement is on click of the checkbox, the ADF should select the records ( the same way it is doing CTRL+CLICK) and all such selected rows should be retrievable using the ADF method theTable.getSelectedRowKeys()
    Is there any way it can be done?
    Regards,
    Antony.

    Hi All,
    We have implemented the select and select all using check-box and it is working fine. Issue here is the performance is too slow
    Assume SelectValue is the VO coulmn for the checkbox to select the values. To filter out the selected rows, we use the following line
    Row[] pidRows = pidView.getFilteredRows("SelectValue", Boolean.TRUE);
    it is very taking more than 2 minutes if the total number of rows are *4 thousands* and only if 2 rows are selected.
    Whereas with the CTRL+CLICK standard approach, ADF has a built in API theTable.getSelectedRowKeys(); to get only the selected rows, and the built in API takes only few milliseconds to get the selected rows. Users are not agreeing to the CTRL+CLICK approach as it is not user friendly. Suggest if there is a way to make the select box to make it work the same way as CTRL+CLICK.
    code snippet to do the standard way :
    RowKeySet sk = theTable.getSelectedRowKeys();
    _logger.info("row count of select "+sk.getSize());;+
    Iterator selection =sk.iterator();
    EmpVORowImpl empRow = null;
    +while (selection.hasNext()) {+
    Object rowKey = selection.next();
    theTable.setRowKey(rowKey);
    rowdata = (JUCtrlHierNodeBinding)theTable.getRowData();
    empRow  = (EmpVORowImpl)rowdata.getRow();
    _logger.info("Emp # "+empRow.getEmpno() +" Emp Name : "+empRow.getEname() +" Is selected ? "+empRow.getisChecked());+

  • Attach Multiple rows EIT in iRecruitment using Personalization

    1. The EIT is set up in core HRMS as multiple rows descriptive flexfield having segments each with value set and default values.
    Multiple rows meaning, user can enter multiple records as extra information as compared to DFF which only allow one record..
    2. The requirement is to attach this EIT in iRecruitment (self service, HTML) using personalization.
    My Question ?
    1. Can I add this EIT as flex item ?
    2. do I have to create EO, VO and AM for this EIT table or this is provided by oracle when EIT is created ?
    3. is the EIT displayed as table in page with add, update delete button.
    4. is there any document which describes steps to add EIT with multiple rows to self service apps.
    any pointers appreciated.
    Thanks

    There is support for the Person EIT in Self Service and there is no reason why you can't put your EIT function on an iRec menu (you should copy the seeded EIT function).
    Getting an EIT to work in Self Service is a topic in itself, especially if you need approval but basically you need to make sure you set up EIT Security correctly, customise the menu functions and make good use of function level personalization.
    The difficulty you may find is being able to enter details into the EIT for a given person. The seeded EIT functions are either for Employee Self service or for Manager self service, not for iRec. I am firstly assuming you are talking about the Person EIT, not the Job, Assignment, Org or any of the other EITs that exist.
    The next thing to understand is who will be entering information into the EIT? Will it be the applicant or candidate themselves? If so, you may find the seeded employee EIT function can be slotted into an irec screen somehow.
    If it is a manager entering the EIT information for an applicant, then you may need to play around with the Manager EIT function and security profiles, not sure on that. I would need to know more before understanding how the EIT fits into your business flows.
    The seeded EIT screens are pretty flexible, you add (for multi row EITS), update and delete rows. Approval can be added if you need it.

  • How to manipulate data in multiple rows without using cursor??

    Hi all,
    I have a form in which there is a push button & 4 text fields.
    Push button : Process
    Text fields: Year, Month, Financial_To_Year, Financial_From_Date.
    In database , there are tables like, CUSTOMER_MASTER, FD_ACCOUNT_MASTER, FD_ACCOUNT_DTL, CUSTOMER_YEARLY_INTEREST, etc.
    In table FD_ACCOUNT_MASTER, there are columns, like CUST_CODE, FD_ACCT_NO, FD_AMOUNT, ACCT_OPEN_DT, ACCT_CLOSE_DATE, ACCT_TYPE, INTEREST_RATE, etc.
    There are thousands of records in the table.
    For Push button : Process , TRIGGER: When button pressed,
    I have to do all the process of FD for all the FD_ACCOUNTS at once. Process means i have to calculate Interest for all the accounts, calculate interest monthly, quarterly, yearly and make the FD_Accounts disable after the date of ACCT_CLOSE_DATE is reached, make the accounts renewed , etc all the process.
    But to do this process for multiple rows at once, we use cursor, but i don't want to use cursor as i feel its too tedious to do.
    Is there any other way , where i do process of multiple records at once without using cursor??
    Help me, Thank You.

    An Update statement certainly can update sets of data instead single row updates:
    UPDATE Statement
    if you can't do it in a single statement you can use bulk processing as well:

  • Update multiple rows & columns using a single statement

    I have the following table with tablename - emp
    first_name last_name age
    aaa bbb 31
    56
    78
    ggg hhh 36
    2nd & 3rd row contain null values (no data) in first_name & last_name column . I want to update those two rows with data using a single statement. How do I do it?
    I was thinking may be something like the following:-
    UPDATE emp
    SET first_name= , last_name=
    CASE
    WHEN age = 56 THEN 'ccc', 'ddd'
    WHEN age = 78 THEN 'eee', 'fff'
    ELSE first_name, last_name
    END

    Can you give an example of a nested decode statement.

  • Validating data in jsp with multiple rows editable using ADF

    If we are developing a page using ADF that edits muliptle rows in a table(view object) , how de we validate data in a row against the data entered in other rows.
    Suppose user entered data in row1 and row2 , i want to validate the data in row1 against data in row 2.

    Suppose the user is entering data in a web page with three rows, user is allowed to enter a value in row2 less than the value entered in row1. When user enter a value greater than the value in previous row, we need to show a message and show the fields with the values that caused the error.

  • Merging multiple rows without using max group by

    Hi guys,
    Is there any better way to convert
    with

    select '001' as id, 'Apple' as name, 'A' as segment1,null as segment2,null as segment3 from dual union all
    select '001' as id, 'Apple' as name,null as segment1, 'P' as segment2,null as segment3 from dual union all
    select '001' as id, 'Apple' as name,null as segment1,null as segment2, 'L' as segment3 from dual
    select * from test
    to
    select '001' as id, 'Apple' as name, 'A' as segment1,'P' as segment2,'L' as segment3 from dual
    without using max and group by?
    There are about 5 million records and using max group by is slowing it down by a lot.
    It is needed to be done by SQL.

  • CMP update multiple rows

    Hi,
    Is there a way to update multiple rows when using CMPs.
    For example I can update multiple rows by this method.
    while (condition)
    cmp = cmpHome.findByPrimaryKey(key);
    cmp.setValue(newValue);
    Rather than this method is there a way that I can update many rows just as normal sql update.
    thanks in advance,
    chamal.

    If you want to concatenate Acol column with sysdate for 605 and 608 ....i think you need to code less (of what you have posted)
    UPDATE TEST
    SET TEST.ACOL =  TEST.ACOL || ' ' ||sysdate
    where
    test.acol in (605,608);--I don't know why you want this , Just given the suggestion as per the requirement.

  • Multiple Row Update in a Table

    Hi,
    How do I do a multiple row update in a single table in Oracle? I was thinking of something that is similar to the insert example below:
    Insert into SOME_TABLE (COL1, COL2) (select COL1, COL2 from ANOTHER_TABLE);
    ...wherein I don't have to write multiple lines of update statement.
    Thanks.

    Hi Mike,
    Thanks for replying. I was actually looking for a multiple row update using a single update statement. The only reason I provided an Insert statement example is to show the idea. I did some test and I was able to figure it out. I thought it was something complicated but I just had to retrieve the new values from another table and equate the primary key and foreign keys of the two tables.

  • EIT Multiple Rows in Self Service using Personalization

    The EIT is set up in core HRMS as multiple rows descriptive flexfield having segments each with value set and default values.
    Multiple rows meaning, user can enter multiple records as extra information as compared to DFF which only allow one record..
    Help Appreciated
    Thanks

    I am still facing issue in displaying the restricted record in self service.
    Setup tried:
    1. My original value set has the total set of values (no validation).
    2. My new value set is a wrapper over the original and uses a Table validation with a WHERE condition like:
    WHERE flex_value_set_id = <original value set id>
    AND
    (FND_PROFILE.VALUE('RESP_ID') = <MSS resp id> and flex_value
    <> "<restricted values>")
    or
    (FND_PROFILE.VALUE('RESP_ID')= <PUI> and 1=1)
    Result:
    SS lov shows only filtered values, I cannot select it in new record.
    But I get error when the already created record gets displayed as it seems to validate against new value set.
    error:
    ID <restricted value> for the flexfield segment SEGMENT1 does not exist in the value set NEW VALUE SET.
    Is there any possibility to add a table filter in MSS to restrict the record that is displayed in the EIT table in SS. I tried a lot but the filter do not bring the table columns for adding the filter clause.
    Or is there a way that I can attach different value set for PUI through Forms Personalization?
    Thanks for your suggestions.

  • Attach EIT in iRecruitment using Personalization ?

    Hi
    For attaching custom EIT which is created and registered to candidate details page in iRecruitment, I have following question
    1. How to use personalization to attach it. is it similar as flexfield, if yes what is the view instance name ?
    2. Do I have to create EO, VO for it ?
    Please help !
    Thanks

  • How can I use multiple row insert or update into DB in JSP?

    Hi all,
    pls help for my question.
    "How can I use multiple rows insert or update into DB in JSP?"
    I mean I will insert or update the multiple records like grid component. All the data I enter will go into the DB.
    With thanks,

    That isn't true. Different SQL databases have
    different capabilities and use different syntax, That's true - every database has its own quirks and extensions. No disagreement there. But they all follow ANSI SQL for CRUD operations. Since the OP said they wanted to do INSERTs and UPDATEs in batches, I assumed that ANSI SQL was sufficient.
    I'd argue that it's best to use ANSI SQL as much as possible, especially if you want your JDBC code to be portable between databases.
    and there are also a lot of different ways of talking to
    SQL databases that are possible in JSP, from using
    plain old java.sql.* in scriptlets to using the
    jstlsql taglib. I've done maintenance on both, and
    they are as different as night and day.Right, because you don't maintain JSP and Java classes the same way. No news there. Both java.sql and JSTL sql taglib are both based on SQL and JDBC. Same difference, except that one uses tags and the other doesn't. Both are Java JDBC code in the end.
    Well, sure. As long as you only want to update rows
    with the same value in column 2. I had the impression
    he wanted to update a whole table. If he only meant
    update all rows with the same value in a given column
    with the same value, that's trivial. All updates do
    that. But as far as I know there's know way to update
    more than one row where the values are different.I used this as an example to demonstrate that it's possible to UPDATE more than one row at a time. If I have 1,000 rows, and each one is a separate UPDATE statement that's unique from all the others, I guess I'd have to write 1,000 UPDATE statements. It's possible to have them all either succeed or fail as a single unit of work. I'm pointing out transaction, because they weren't coming up in the discussion.
    Unless you're using MySQL, for instance. I only have
    experience with MySQL and M$ SQL Server, so I don't
    know what PostgreSQL, Oracle, Sybase, DB2 and all the
    rest are capable of, but I know for sure that MySQL
    can insert multiple rows while SQL Server can't (or at
    least I've never seen the syntax for doing it if it
    does).Right, but this syntax seems to be specific to MySQL The moment you use it, you're locked into MySQL. There are other ways to accomplish the same thing with ANSI SQL.
    Don't assume that all SQL databases are the same.
    They're not, and it can really screw you up badly if
    you assume you can deploy a project you've developed
    with one database in an environment where you have to
    use a different one. Even different versions of the
    same database can have huge differences. I recommend
    you get a copy of the O'Reilly book, SQL in a
    Nutshell. It covers the most common DBMSes and does a
    good job of pointing out the differences.Yes, I understand that.
    It's funny that you're telling me not to assume that all SQL databases are the same. You're the one who's proposing that the OP use a MySQL-specific extension.
    I haven't looked at the MySQL docs to find out how the syntax you're suggesting works. What if one value set INSERT succeeds and the next one fails? Does MySQL roll back the successful INSERT? Is the unit of work under the JDBC driver's control with autoCommit?
    The OP is free to follow your suggestion. I'm pointing out that there are transactions for units of work and ANSI SQL ways to accomplish the same thing.
