Multiple rows for 1 detail line of data in an updateable report

I have an end user that wants all data displayed to fit within the frame(No scrolling to the right). The
problem is there is too much data.
In the updateable report I have
Col1- ---Col2--- ---Col3--- ---Col4--- ---Col5--- ---Col6---
Is it possible to have 2 lines - like this:
record 1 ---Col1--- ---Col2--- ---Col3---
---Col4--- ---Col5--- ---Col6---
record 2 ---Col1--- ---Col2--- ---Col3---
---Col4--- ---Col5--- ---Col6---
Any assistance will be appreciated.
Shelly

Hi Shelly,
If you haven't already, you might want to try playing with different Report Templates (e.g. 100% width) and also CSS field formatting like nowrap and fixed widths to get what you want.

  • How to trigger Condition Access sequence multiple times for one line item?

    Hi,
    We have a situation that, User will enter a Promo code (custom Field) in Sales order Header Additional data B tab to apply discount for line items.
    Logic goes like this:
    1. For each Promo code .. there may be multiple sale deals (Max 3 at this point).
    2. For each line item (refering to tkomp table) we have to apply the sale deals (found above) the Condition access sequence will pick the right sale deal to apply the line item.
    3.we have enhanced the tkomp structure to hold the sale deal.
    Challenge:
    As we have the standard logic to trigger the condition access sequence once for each line item, how we can apply 3 sale deals for single line item. Is there any logic or way to trigger the condition access sequence multiple times for single line item with diffrent sale deals. ~ There may be one valid sale deal for one line.
    Functional team maintained diffrent access tables in the access sequence!!!
    Fnds, please help me to get some clue
    Thanks,
    Sunil Y

    Hi Eduardo , Thanks for the response.
    I am trying to explain again, this is the requirment given by the functional guys.
    we have Promo code in Hearder Addtional data B tab --> Have to retrieve Sale Deals -->
    At this point of time we may have at max 3 Sale Deals. we don't know which sale deal is vallied for which item we have in TKOMP.  We have enhanced the TKOMP structure to hold one sale deal only (ZZPROMO).
    We have enhanced USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP in RV60AFZZ to populate the value in TKOMP. Then it will go for diffrent access sequence to find the proper condition.
    Our challenge is that, for each line item we have 3 sale deals, we don't know which one is valid for which line. but we have to apply the vallied sale Deal to the line items.  Line item 10  may have Sale Deal 2 , item 20 may have Sale Deal3 and 30 may have sale deal 1.
    We may have solution, by fixing some thing in the code or through config. But i am confused that is it a valid requirment?
    Please help me ...
    Thanks,
    Sunil Y

  • I don't want a new row for each line of text

    I have exported a pdf document which is a table full of text in columns (by month). The conversion seems to react randomly so that in some places several lines of text in a column are converted to just one cell (great, just what I want) and then in others, a block of text gets split into a row for each line of text --- very annoying ...
    What would make this happen? Is there a workaround so that you can tell the conversion how to react to blocks of text?
    hope someone can help

    For optimal export the PDF needs to be a well-formed tagged PDF.
    The basic PDF page content has no format, styling, rows, columns,  etc.
    Just objects painted to the PDF page at a specified  location.
    You can return to the authoring file, clean that up to support accessible PDF output, then post process the PDF with Acrobat XI Pro to finalize making the PDF PDF/UA compliant. Export of that would be better.
    You can manually tag the PDF such that it is PDF/UA compliant than export from that . This would provide you better export.
    You can clean up the export you already have.
    Be well...

  • How to make RECORD for saving multiple rows for each employee..

    Hi,
    How can I create a record for saving multiple rows for each employee... (parent child relationship)
    I have created all required fields, then created a record, and then created a page. in that page i dragged-n-dropped a scroll area on that page and dropped all required fields from record into that scroll-area.
    whats is happening that its saving ONE (the first) record fine, but for the second record its not storing EMPLID for that row..
    Will I have to make some change at RECORD level ?
    OR Will i have to make some configuration in parent component ?

    Hi, the problem is solved. The record will be created in same way. just create more then one keys (allowing to make composite key in DB table)

  • Search files for specific lines of data

    Hi all, I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with.
    I need to find a way to search for specific lines of data on a file.
    Here's the setup.... say for example I have 10 files, each filled with log files containing data like the date they were created and also certain information they were monitoring.
    From a Java applet, a user types in information that they want (for example, only lines that were created between 2002/04/04 and 2002/05/05 and only ones tagged with "Caution"). I need a way to grab all of those line from each of the files, without having to open each file, read each line and check for each search request. Instead, I want to simply grab all of the data at once, or at the very least, grab all of the data from the first file, then grab all of the data from the second file etc, without having to search each individual line. (the reason I'm hoping for a command like this is because there will eventually be thousands of files that need to be searched, and opening each one, and then search each line one by one would take too long.
    Sort of like a grep command in Linux. Does Java have a similar command?
    Any information or samples would be greatly appreciated!

    I don't know how much control you have over the files that you have to search.
    Searching XML files would be a lot easier because XPATH queries will work exactly like SQL... The only problem being if your files are not XML at all.
    If you have control over the format of these files you are trying to search, then try XML... else you might have to write a batch utility that runs every N seconds and converts data in these files to XML format files conforming to a specific format and then your applet could query the XML files.
    There will be a small concurrency issue there, though; As there will be at least some time consumed by the thread.

  • PO Interface - Multiple shipments for a line

    Hi,
    Please could you anyone help me as to how to import PO lines with mutiple shipments?
    PO_header_interface, po_lines_interface, po_distributions_interface are the tables am using for the PO Interface.
    Since some of the PO lines has multiple shipments for a line, the Open Interface is failing.
    I am in 11.5.10.2, any helps please.
    Thanks
    Genoo
    Edited by: Geno on Aug 27, 2012 11:13 AM

    Hi Genoo,
    PO_LINES_INTERFACE table has got LINE_NUM and SHIPMENT_NUM columns. If you have multiple shipments for a line (e.g. Line 1 got shipment 1,2 and 3), you need to insert records as LINE_NUM=1, SHIPMENT_NUM=1, LINE_NUM=1, SHIPMENT_NUM=2 and so on.
    Thanks,

  • Writing multiple rows in one line, mysql statement. No strings are saved

    Hi, I dont know how to make multiple rows inputs into the table in one sentence. Ive got an error: "java.sql.SQLException: Statement parameter 2 not set" provided by code below. It works fine for one Date row (saves in the db corectly) however when I use for two different date types two single statements it will write databes two times putting 2x Null in the every other row. I dont want that, I need it to be written in one connection and statement.
    try{
         String userName = "user";
              String password = "pass";
              String url = "jdbc:mysql://dbadress/dbname";
              Class.forName ("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance();
              Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection (url, userName, password);
              Statement  st1=con.createStatement();
           Date BirthDate = wdContext.currentPeopleElement().getBirthDate();  //People - context node, BirthDate - context attribute
           Date FillDate = wdContext.currentContextElement().getFillDate();
           String sql1 = "INSERT INTO table1 (BirthDate1,FillDate1) VALUES (?,?)"; //BirthDate1,FillDate1 - rows in the "table1" table
           PreparedStatement stmt1 = con.prepareStatement(sql1);
           stmt1.setDate(1, BirthDate);
           stmt1.setDate(1, FillDate);
           stmt1.executeUpdate();
           stmt1.close();
         catch(Exception e) {
         wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager() .reportWarning( e.toString() ); }
    I would like to know how to fix it.
    Other issue is that code below:
    try{
         String userName = "user";
              String password = "pass";
              String url = "jdbc:mysql://dbadress/dbname";
              Class.forName ("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance();
              Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection (url, userName, password);
              Statement  st1=con.createStatement();
           Date BirthDate = wdContext.currentPeopleElement().getBirthDate();  //People - context node, BirthDate - context attribute
           String sql1 = "INSERT INTO table1 (BirthDate1) VALUES (?)"; //BirthDate1 row in the "table1" table
           PreparedStatement stmt1 = con.prepareStatement(sql1);
           stmt1.setDate(1, BirthDate);
              stmt1.executeUpdate();
           stmt1.close();
         catch(Exception e) {
         wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager() .reportWarning( e.toString() ); }
    works perfectly fine. It does write date in the database as shown on the monitor hoever it doesnt work if we change Date type with String. Of course context nodes are String type as well. Code below will write "Null" value in the db. Dont know why. Of course I write some string down in the input field and save after, just like do it with Date type which works fine. Please advice.
    try{
         String userName = "user";
              String password = "pass";
              String url = "jdbc:mysql://dbadress/dbname";
              Class.forName ("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance();
              Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection (url, userName, password);
            Statement  st2=con.createStatement();
         String signature = wdContext.currentContextElement().getsignature(); //signature - context
         String sql2 = "INSERT INTO table1 (signature1) VALUES (?)"; //signature1 - name of row in the table1
         PreparedStatement stmt2 = con.prepareStatement(sql2);
         stmt2.setString(1, signature);
         stmt2.executeUpdate();
         stmt2.close();
         catch(Exception e) {
         wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager() .reportWarning( e.toString() ); }

  • Update multiple row for different values

    hi,
    Please provide me the sql query to update multiple row in a table with different values.
    i need to change the old date to new date
    we have only 3 column id,name,old date.now i need to update the old date to new date
    ID name old date new date
    1 A 2012-12-20 12/7/2012
    2 B 2012-12-20 12/9/2012
    3 c 2012-12-20 12/5/2012
    thank you.

    Here are two ways to do this. Thanks to ranit for the table creation script, which I adapted.create table test_x
    as
    select 1 id, 'A' name, to_date('2012-12-20','yyyy-mm-dd') old_date
    from dual UNION ALL
    select 2 id, 'B' name, to_date('2012-12-20','yyyy-mm-dd') old_date
    from dual UNION ALL
    SELECT 3 ID, 'C' NAME, TO_DATE('2012-12-20','yyyy-mm-dd') OLD_DATE
    from dual;First method using MERGE:MERGE INTO TEST_X O
    USING (
      select 1 id, to_date('12/7/2012','mm/dd/yyyy') new_date
      from dual UNION ALL
      select 2 id, to_date('12/9/2012','mm/dd/yyyy') new_date
      from dual UNION ALL
      SELECT 3 ID, TO_DATE('12/5/2012','mm/dd/yyyy') NEW_DATE
      FROM DUAL
    ) n
    ON (O.ID = N.ID)
    WHEN MATCHED THEN UPDATE SET OLD_DATE = n.NEW_DATE;Second method using UPDATE:UPDATE TEST_X SET OLD_DATE =
      CASE WHEN ID = 1 THEN TO_DATE('12/7/2012','mm/dd/yyyy')
           WHEN ID = 2 THEN TO_DATE('12/9/2012','mm/dd/yyyy')
           WHEN ID = 3 THEN TO_DATE('12/5/2012','mm/dd/yyyy')
      END
    where id between 1 and 3;
    You probably don't want to use these methods.*
    You say the "user" will enter these values. Will he always enter exactly 3 values?
    The "user" will enter values into a screen I suppose. What language is the user interface programmed in?

  • Multiple Rows for Same Value in Matrix Report

    Hello
    I am trying to create a matrix report that shows different page for each Category. Report looks like follows:
    Page1( for Category '1')
    Agent |
    Calls |
    Sales
    TestAgent1 18
    3
    TestAgent1 5
    1
    Page2( for Category '2')
    Agent |
    Calls |
    Sales
    TestAgent1 26
    5
    TestAgent1 13
    2
    The issue is as you can see in above table, that i am getting repeated rows for same agents. I have tried making a parent group on Agent but it would still keep showing multiple rows. Ideally, it should show each agent only once in each page.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    PS: I am new to SSRS and this is my first time on microsoft blog, so i apologize if i wasn't able to follow the protocols/culture here.
    Thanks

    Hi M Adnan,
    According to your description, you want to show a total Calls and total Sales for same agent so that it has only one row for each agent in your category group. Right?
    In this scenario, if you only have a row group for category, it will show all “detail rows” in this groups even the agent of these rows are same one. So we can add a row group, set those detail rows group by agent and use Sum function to get the total Calls
    and Sales. It looks like below:
    If we want to display each Page in horizontal, we just need one Category column group for grouping rows and use sum function to get total Calls and Sales for each agent. It looks like below:

  • Why no tab add-ins that enable multiple rows for Firefox 4???

    I geneally have lots of tabs open at any given time. I traditionally use TabKit, TabMix, and others that let me use multiple rows of tabs (among other options). I have not been able to find ANY add-ons that support multiple rows. There is sadness across the land.

    The mentioned "Multirow Bookmarks Toolbar Plus" add-on specifically addresses bookmarks, while the question is regarding the tabs.

  • Date Span - Validation for start and end date parameters in Crystal reports

    Hi,
    I am new here and am unsure if this is the right place to post this issue. If so, I apologize for that.
    I am working on Crystal Reports 12 and don't know if it is possible; to validate the parameters - Start Date and End Date are within a specific span of time. For Eg. Start Date and End Date should be within 6 months or Start Date should be a future date.
    Can we prompt that parameters entered are invalid and have users re-enter it?
    I will really appreciate any help into this issue.
    Thanks Much,
    RP

    Hi,
    Well, it is not possible to validate the date/datetime values in the prompt window, however there are other alternatives.
    One of them is to create an Alert with the condition:
    datediff("m",Minimum({?DateParameter}),Maximum({?DateParameter})) > 6
    //This is to check if the start date and the end date are within 6 months
    Another way of doing this is by displaying a message on the Report Header and suppressing all other sections if the date range values do not meet the condition.
    Hope this helps!

  • Date formatting on updateable report

    I have an updateable report with a date column. I would like the user to be able to use mm/dd/rrrr format.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks

    when you use our tabular form wizard to generate a tabular form, you're somewhat limited in what you can do to the data that's being selected out of your table. it's currently set up that way because we do some optimistic locking stuff behind the scenes to maintain your data integrity for you. there might be other ways to deal with your specific request, but this approach seems easiest to me assuming that changing your db's default date format isn't an option:
    put html db pl/sql processes on both your page rendering and page submission sections that set your nls_date_format for each of those db sessions. so both of your new html db processes would be of type "PL/SQL Anonymous Block". one would fire with a process point of "On Load - Before Header" and the other would fire "On Submit - Before Computations and Validations". both processes would look like...
    begin
    execute immediate 'alter session set nls_date_format = ''mm/dd/rrrr''';
    end;
    ...and after those two changes, your tablular form should handle dates in the mm/dd/rrrr format you're looking for.
    hope this helps,

    in_time timestemp;
    out_time timestemp;
    How can i do this.
    Thanks
    Manoj

    Hi Manoj,
    You can create multiple records easily using a single, simple, form. However, you would surely have to enter in the times individually using a tabular form (otherwise, you would have to use the same form 10 times). You do not have to keep the Add Row option on the page - this functionality can be removed.

  • Need help with a SQL qurey that returns multiple rows for one record?

    I have the following query where I use a CASE WHEN clause to determine the date of a shift that begins with "FRLO" on day1 - day14 of the pay period. It works great if a schedule record contains one day that begins "FRLO", but if more than one day is "FRLO" then it only returns the first day it finds and not the others. Is there some way to get the query to return a ron for every day 1 - 14 that begins "FRLO"? System if Oracle 11G

    Do you have the opportunity to change the data model to have one day per row ? It would make this easier to get this result without the need for a 14-way CASE or UNION.
    If not...
    The case statement will return as soon as it matches one of the conditions. Since you want a match when any column in the row starts with FRLO you can use a UNION ALL treating each column as a separate result. There may be more efficient ways to do this, but here is one way:
    Select S.Empid,       Pp.Startpp Startdate,       Null Starttime,       Null Endtime,       8 Hours,       0 Minutes
      From Schedules S       Join  Payperiods Pp On Pp.Periodid = S.Periodid
      Where Upper (Substr (S.Day1, 0, 4)) = 'FRLO'
    Union All
    Select S.Empid,       Pp.Startpp+1 Startdate,       Null Starttime,       Null Endtime,       8 Hours,       0 Minutes
      From Schedules S       Join  Payperiods Pp On Pp.Periodid = S.Periodid
      Where Upper (Substr (S.Day2, 0, 4)) = 'FRLO'
    Union All
    Select S.Empid,       Pp.Startpp+2 Startdate,       Null Starttime,       Null Endtime,       8 Hours,       0 Minutes

  • Select multiple playlists for burning to DVD Data disc?

    Hi, i need to burn about 5 playlists to a DVD Data Disc for temp backup, iTunes only is allowing me to select one playlist at a time. Of corse one play list is about 300 meg and this is totally wasteful of a DVD.
    Anyone know how to burn multiple playlists to a single disc? maybe some other app can read iTunes's playlists and provide burning?
    I want each playlist to create a self titled folder on disc with the tunes in each.
    Thanks

    Hi man, good idea.
    Unfortunately, in iTunes, the "Burn Data Disc" button disappears when the folder is selected, in addition to the burn menu item. The burn button reappears when a single playlist inside the folder is selected, unfortunately again, more than one playlist cannot be selected.
    It does appear iTunes can burn only 1 single playlist to a disc or the entire library and nothing in between which is very problematic for me right now.
    Sadly the "Back Up to Disc" option in the File menu provides the following options :
    "Back Up entire iTunes library and playlist"
    "Back Up only iTunes Store purchases"
    This appears also to be useless.
    Toast 8 won't import exported iTunes XML playlists either and just burn the tracks in each playlist to a folder on the disk.
    Suppose we need "iTunes Pro" to do something simple as I require :-((
