Multiple Viewlinks

Hi,
I have Company ==> Accounts ==> PO Views all of them are related by a viewlink based on entity associations which are composing associations. There is a viewlink between company and PO but this is not based on a composing entity association. Now I want to create new PO rows of a certain company without choosing Accounts. On the PO creation screen I want to select the related account via a SelectInputText. As you guess with BC4J tester I get JBO-25030 Failed to find or invalidate owning entity: detail entity PO, row key null at POImpl.create. So how can I create new instances of PO without telling the related Account at EntityImpl.create(attributeList) method.
I appreciate your helps.
Best Regards,
Salim

Salim,
You may have already done this, but have you checked that:
1). The foreign key column in PO table to Accounts is declared as nullable
2). The entity association from PO to Accounts has cardinality of "* to 0..1" (or conversely, if it's from Accounts to PO's it should be "0..1 to *")
3). Ditto #1 and #2 for the View Objects and View Links
Hope this helps,
John

  • Single "child" ViewObject with multiple ViewLink "parents"

    Hello,
    The subject says it all. Is it possible to create View Objects and View Links appropriately such that
    ChildVO = View Object child
    ParentVO1 = View Object parent of ChildVO
    ParentVO2 = View Object parent of ChildVO
    both ParentVO1 and ParentVO2 can drive the specific rows detailed in ChildVO?
    This occurs when we have a ChildVO used to navigate/browse search results and are providing different search mechanisms via ParentVO1 and ParentVO2 to limits ChildVO's rows.
    Any suggestions? Apologies if this is a trivial/oft-posted question,
    Joe

    We have a similar scenario here - if I understand you correctly.
    We have a worklist controlling an elaborated ViewLink cascade during normal operation.
    The user can also switch to a demo mode where a different VO takes control over the whole detail shebang.
    We do this by removing/creating the ViewLinks at runtime. We have designed the ViewLinks, so that their xml files are created, but we instantiate only one of them in the AM.
    In the AM impl when switching to demo mode we do:
    ViewLinkImpl link = getWorklistViewLink1(  );
    if( link != null ) {
      link.remove(  );
    ViewLink newLink = createViewLink( "demoViewLink",
                                             "demopackage.PacsDemoLink",
                                             demoMaster, proxy );
    proxy.executeQuery(  );Switching back:
    ViewLinkImpl link = (ViewLinkImpl)findViewLink( "demoViewLink" );
    if( link != null ) {
      link.remove(  );
    ViewLink newLink = createViewLink( "WorklistViewLink1",
                                             "demopackage.WorklistViewLink",
                                             reportMaster, proxy );
    proxy.executeQuery(  );In order to make this as easy as possible, we introduced a proxy VO that has no real functionality but that ensures that only one ViewLink has to be "switched".
    worklist ---- proxy ----- detail1 ---
                       |-------- detail2 ---
                       --------- detail3 ---In demo mode:
    demoMaster -- proxy ----- detail1 ---
                            |-------- detail2 ---
                            --------- detail3 ---Works for us like a charm. Don't know if there is a more elegant solution.

  • Multiple RowSetIterators and ViewLinks

    I'm trying to use different RowIterators with my view object so that I can show different current rows of the same ViewObject in different parts of my app at the same time.
    I have the following dataModel
    People
    |--Users
    ---|--Machines
    So while the app is on a single perosn I need to be able to be on multiple rows of users(different Iterators bound to same VO) and also show the detail-machines for each user (keeping each iterator in sync with its detail rowset)
    I've got the multiple users row iterators portion working. My question is how do I keep my detail iterators(machines) in sync with the masters(user)?
    All of this works great using the default row iterators but when I use multiple row iterators on the users vo the multiple iterators on the machines vo are not kept in sync.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    There’re some order templates, Shirt(Clothing) Order Form,  that might be meet your request. Or you can design a custom form according your requirement if you’re a form author or coauthor. For your case, when you design the form, you can choose the multiple choices, single choice, or other fields, etc.  And you have to enable the payment under options tab, and assign fields as a purchase fields. At the same time, you can share the web form to the form filler to make an order.

  • How to create Table in a Table without a ViewLink for Master/Detail

    Hi,
    Can we create a Table within Table in OA Page without using a view link. Need a Master Detail records to be displayed but I can't use a ViewLink. Is it possible to
    have a Table within Table without using a ViewLink. As I have DetailVO with multiple bind variables. I tried ViewLink but it didn't work so wondering if can achieve this
    using table in table without ViewLink
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I created a Table then in the table I created a detail in which I created another table I created a transient view attribute i.e. DetailFlag that I set to my outer table. When I run the page it does show me the Master records and showhide link but when I click on the show it throws an error saying:
    oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: oracle.jbo.NoDefException: JBO-25002: Definition  of type Attribute not found
    Even though all the items in Detail table are attached to VO attributes of DetailVO
    As I have a different MasterVO query with some bind variables and the DetailsVO query is different with some bind variables. Now how do I capture when a user clicks on Show and at that time wants to get some values from a selected master row and pass them to my DetailVO Query so the detail data for that selected master row shows. How do I get handle to the selected Row Data so to get the some values that need to be passed to the DetailVO.
    I tried following the guide but am not able to have it functioning.
    Here is what I have in my controller's processRequest method
         OAApplicationModule am = pageContext.getApplicationModule(webBean);
         System.out.println("******* 1");
         am.invokeMethod("initializeTables");
         OATableBean table =
          (OATableBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("OuterTable");
        if (table == null)
          MessageToken[] tokens = { new MessageToken("OBJECT_NAME", "OuterTable") };
          throw new OAException("AK", "FWK_TBX_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND", tokens);
        table.queryData(pageContext, true);
        System.out.println("******* 2");Any help is appreciated.

  • How to display multiple selected rows in a table inside a popup?

    Hi,
    I have a table on which multiple selection is enabled. I am able to get hold of multiple selected rows i.e. i am able to iterate over the selected row keys and print their values. Now, my problem is how to display the contents of all the selected rows in a popup? I get the details of only one row when I launch the popup.
    Thanks
    Karan

    Hi,
    Not confident if this works or not but just try it...
    1. create a ViewLink between the same view Object.
    The source and destination wil be the same Vo and the source and destination attribute will be the pk of both Vos.
    2. Update the changes in Appln Module.
    Open the AM and in DataModel tab .
    select the Same VO from which you created table in the DataModel Listbox and select the VL in the "Avaible View Objects" List Box. Add under it(selected vo in datamodel listbox).
    3. Refresh DataControl accordion.
    4. in your jsff page drag and drop the child vo as a table..
    See if it works

  • Best practice for linking fields from multiple entity objects

    I am currently transitioning from PHP to ADF. I'm looking for the best practice for linking data from multiple entity objects.
    Example:
    EO 'REQUESTS' has fields: req_id, name, dt, his_stat_id, her_stat_id
    EO 'STATUSES' has fields: stat_id, short_txt_descr
    'REQUESTS' is linked to EO 'STATUSES' on: STATUSES.stat_id = REQUESTS.his_status_id
    'REQUESTS' is also linked to EO 'STATUSES' on: STATUSES.stat_id = REQUESTS.her_status_id
    REQUESTS.his_status_id is independent of REQUESTS.her_status_id
    When I create a VO for REQUESTS, I want to display: REQUESTS.name, REQUESTS.dt, STATUSES.short_txt_descr (for his_stat_id), STATUS.short_txt_descr (for her_stat_id)
    What is the best practice for accomplishing this? It appears I could do it a few different ways:
    1. Create the REQUESTS VO with a LOV for his_stat_id and her_stat_id
    2. Create the REQUESTS VO with the join to STATUSES performed within the query for the VO. This would require joining on the STATUSES EO twice (his_stat_id, her_stat_id)
    3. I just started reading about View Links - would that somehow do what I'm looking for?
    I also need to be able to update his_status_id and her_status_id through the by selecting a STATUSES.short_txt_descr from a dropdown.
    Any suggestions on how to approach such a stupidly simple task?
    Using jDeveloper 11.1.2.2.0 if that makes a difference in the solution.
    Thanks ahead of time,
    CJ

    CJ,
    I vote for solution 1 as it's just your use case. As you said you what to update the his_status_id and her_status_id through the by selecting a STATUSES.short_txt_descr by a drop down. This is exactly the LOV solution.
    ViewLinks are used fro master detail navigation (which you don't do here) and Joining the data make it difficult to update (and you still need a LOV for the drop down box.

  • Issue with multiple level master details

    Hi All,
    I just came around with following scenario and found it is not working as expected.
    GFVO ( Primary Key Attribute -> GFID )
    | ---- ViewLink between GFVO and ParentVO on attribute GFID
    Parent VO (PrimaryKey PID )
    | -- ViewLink between Parent VO and Child VO on attribute ATTR1
    ChildVO (PrimaryKey CID )
    Data ->
    GF VO has record -
    1 , xyz
    2 , abc
    Parent VO
    PID Name PGFID ATTR1
    1 ppp 1 1
    2 ttt 1 2
    3 lll 2 1
    4 kkk 2 2
    Child VO
    CID Name ATTR1
    1 cc1 1
    2 cc2 1
    3 cc3 2
    4 cc4 2
    Requirement is I want to show the name attribute of Parent in Child VO. I have used parent accessor exposed in child to display the name of the parent. When I use this multiple hierarchy in AM and run it I find the wierd result.
    Say I select Row (2 , abc) in GF VO.
    I should see below two rows in Parent Row.
    PID Name PGFID ATTR1
    3 lll 2 1
    4 kkk 2 2
    Now I select Row ( 3 lll 2 1 ) in Parent VO , it shows the following Child ROw I get this result -
    CID Name ATTR1 ParentName( accessed throug ViewAccessor)
    1 cc1 1 ppp
    2 cc2 1 ppp
    Gotcha ..... Parent Name ? I am assuming that when we try to access the parent through accessor it will give the parent row from the already filtered VO based on first Viewlink. Rather it requires and gives the first parent as if I m having a single join.
    Thanks,
    Rajdeep

    Hi,
    for a master-detail between tables you create a tree binding each. Assuming the data model you defined contains the three view objects in a hierarchy, you simple drag the parent, then the first child and then the second child as a table to teh view. You then configure the PartialTriggers property of child2 table to point to child1 and parent table. The child 1 table partial triggers property will point to the parent table. This should make the m/d work. If on the server you want to use accessors in the code to get to the details of a child (on the client I would use the iterator binding in the PageDef file), make sure you access the correct instance of the ViewOject

  • Creating Views on multiple entity-objects

    Dear Forum,
    Is it possible to make associations and lookups based on multiple entity-objects.
    I made a custom view, say view1 based on two entity-objects, say entity1 and entity2.
    I used some fields from entity1 and some from entity2. There's a 1 to 1 association between the index of entity1 and entity2.
    Now I want to make a master-detail between entity1 and view1. I tried to make links and associations, but that didn't work.
    Any ideas?
    Kind regards,
    Arjen

    Arjen,
    I am a bit confused by what it is you need. It appears you may have Entity Object and View Objects mixed up. Entity Objects are one-to-one with database tables. So, for every table one Entity Object, and the other way around. Associations are, pretty much, one-to-one with foreign keys on the database. So, if two tables have a foreign key between them, the two Entity Objects will have an Association between them. In that respect, Entity Objects and Associations are usually 'strictly defined' by the database model.
    The layer of View Objects and View Links is where you 'get design control' in the Business Components arena. A View Object can be based on zero, one or more Entity Objects. Viewlink, defining 'Master-Detail' relationships between View Objects (and NOT Entity Objects!!) can but don't have to be based on Entity Associations (i.e. foreign keys), but can be based on any attribute in the 'Master' view to any attribute in the 'Detail' view.
    In this respect, your statement that you want to "make a master-detail between entity1 and view1" makes no sense. It sounds like you need to create a View2, and then make a View Link between View1 and View2.
    Kind regards,

  • Af:treeTable: how build tree that displays multiple columns?

    I only find a default single column behavior in the dev guide regarding af:treetable. Perhaps some of you might have already tried this out, I'm trying to build a master detail using a treetable with multiple columns. After establishing the ViewLink association and dragging the Master View Object onto the cavas, the default generated code looks like:
    <af:treeTable ...
    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
    <af:column binding="#{backing_tree.column1}" id="column1"
    sortable="false" headerText="">
    <af:outputText value="#{node}"
    binding="#{backing_tree.outputText1}"
    id="outputText1"/>
    </af:column>
    </f:facet>
    </af:treeTable>
    This renderes the entire tree in one column, but my detail ViewObject contains multiple attributes and I would like seperate columns to display those values. I'm not sure how to extract the "#{node}" EL to output the detail or child ViewObject's values in seperate af:column. Can someone advise? Thank you.
    Z

    Luis, thanks for the suggestion. I did get the header labels to show, however, the values are still not being printed correctly. I have department as the Master or parent node and employee as the Detail or child node. Here is what I have
    <af:treeTable value="#{bindings.DeptView1.treeModel}" var="node"
    binding="#{backing_treeTest.treeTable1}" id="treeTable1"
    rowsByDepth="0 0">
    <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
    <af:column binding="#{backing_treeTest.column1}" id="column1">
    <f:facet name="header">
    <af:outputText value="Department Name"/>
    </f:facet>
    <af:outputText value="#{node.Dname}"
    binding="#{backing_treeTest.outputText1}"
    id="outputText1"/>
    </af:column>
    </f:facet>
    <f:facet name="pathStamp">
    <af:outputText value="#{node.Dname}"
    binding="#{backing_treeTest.outputText2}"
    id="outputText2"/>
    </f:facet>
    <af:column>
    <f:facet name="header">
    <af:outputText value="Employee Name"/>
    </f:facet>
    <af:outputText value="#{node.Ename}"
    binding="#{backing_treeTest.outputText3}"
    id="outputText3"/>
    </af:column>
    </af:treeTable>
    The Tree Table looks Like:
    Department Name | Employee Name
    - Accounting
    Thanks in advance,

  • Endless loop when clicking on ADF TreeTable Node with multiple Parents

    Using Jdev 11.1.2.2.0.
    I have been using the ADF Tree Table to render a parent/child relationship table(using EO's and VO's); this table allows a child node to have many parents. I've followed the example from Code Corner #32 "How to create a tree table from a single View Object and how to access selected rows" but my example is a little different. I have a Hierarchy Table that lists it's TopNode and then I have a Relationship (parent/child) table that includes the relationships for that hierarchy. I've created the ViewLinks between the Hierarchy VO and the Relationship VO and everything shows up fine in the ADF BC Tester.
    The tables look like the following (Note: the node 5 has multiple parents (4&3)
    Hierarchy Table:
    ID NAME TOPNODEID
    1 HIER1 1
    PARENTCHILDTABLE
    PARENT_ID CHILD_ID
    1 2
    1 3
    2 4
    4 5
    3 5
    -1 1
    The View Links I have setup are the (TopNodeID to ChildID... 1 to 1) as well as the (Child_Id to Parent_ID.. 1 to *).
    I added a tree table to a jsf page; I setup the bindings correctly with the Hierarchy vo as the top level object and the relationship VO as the parent/child (self referencing) table.
    However, when I start expanding some of the nodes at runtime in the JSF page and when I click on the child 5 an hour glass appears and it seems to be in an endless loop. Has anyone seen this before or anyone know why this gets into an endless loop.
    Edited by: user623583 on Aug 21, 2012 7:26 AM

    No exceptions occur but I was able to turn on logging (oracle.adf*) and this shows up. This is only a portion of what gets logged as it seems to log the same thing over and over while in the endless loop. The loop is intermittent too; it doesn't occur all the time. It seems to occur when I click on one of the duplicate nodes OR try to expand one of the duplicate nodes and/or one of their parents.

  • BC4J: Master with multiple details

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to display a data form that consists of fields from 3 entities - one master and 2 details. I have view objects for each of the entities.
    I was wondering how best to model this:
    Should I have one Master VO pointing to 2 different view links (one to each detail VO)?
    Or can I have a single view link that models master-multiple-details (not sure how I can do this using the ViewLink wizard)?
    Any other approach I should consider?
    Thanks,
    Niranjan

    I don't believe you could create a Master with two details frame using wizard. you need to write/alter some code manually. I did this a lot in my application, but as i mentioned with some manually coding.
    here is the general idea:
    1- create the view links for master-detail1 and master-detail2 separately.
    2- Edit your application module using wizard.
    (right click on application module and select Edit Tab). if you did the first step successfully, You should see your master entity and details(as master's children) on left side of wizard frame. Then transfer them to the right side.
    3- Create a frame for master-detail1 using wizard.
    4- create another frame(dummy frame) for master-detail2 using wizard.
    5- copy all codes for detail2 from your dummy frame(step 4) to frame on step 3.
    6- Now you need to alter the code in frame on step 3, to locate the detail2 on that frame.
    7- Now the dummy frame on step 4 is useless, you can delete it.
    Hope this note be clear and help you.

  • How do multiple family members use iTunes.? One account or multiple?

    How do multiple family members use iTunes. One account right now but apps gets added to all devices and iTunes messages go to all devices.  Can multiple accounts be setup and still have ability to share purchased items?

    Hey Ajtt!
    I have an article for you that can help inform you about using Apple IDs in a variety of ways:
    Using your Apple ID for Apple services
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4895
    Using one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store Purchases
    You can use different Apple IDs for iCloud and Store purchases and still get all of the benefits of iCloud. Just follow these steps:
    iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
    When you first set up your device with iOS 5 or later, enter the Apple ID you want to use with iCloud. If you skipped the setup assistant, sign in to Settings > iCloud and enter the Apple ID you’d like to use with iCloud.
    In Settings > iTunes and App Stores, sign in with the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match). You may need to sign out first to change the Apple ID.
    Mac:
    Enter the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud in Apple () menu > System Preferences > iCloud.
    Enter the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) in Store > Sign In. In iTunes 11, you can also click iTunes Store > Quick Links: Account.
    PC (Windows 8):
    Enter the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud in the Control Panel. To access the iCloud Control Panel, move the pointer to the upper-right corner of the screen to show the Charms bar, click the Search charm, and then click the iCloud Control Panel on the left.
    Enter the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) in iTunes. In iTunes 10, select Store > Sign In. In iTunes 11, click iTunes Store > Quick Links: Account.
    PC (Windows 7 and Vista):
    Enter the Apple ID you want to use for iCloud in Control Panel > Network and Internet > iCloud.
    Enter the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) in iTunes 10 in Store > Sign In. In iTunes 11, click iTunes Store > Quick Links: Account.
    Note: Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID for your iTunes Store account, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days. Learn more about associating a device or computer to your Apple ID.
    Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
    Cheers,
    Braden

  • How can I setup a mail-specific passcode/restriction on iPad used by multiple family members?

    How can I setup a mail-specific passcode/restriction on iPad used by multiple family members?
    Have an Exchange mail account setup and accessible in my mail on iPad... however my kids use it and i would like to restrict them from accessing this specific portion of the device.  I tried viewing restriction options and do not see that i can apply a restriction specifically to Mail.  Thanks for your help.

    Not a feature of iOS. Check the AppStore to see if there are other
    mail apps that allow passcode protection.
    Or use Safari to log onto your email via a web-based interface and
    enter your credentials each time. A bit slower, but the kids will
    not know the details to login.

  • How can a family with multiple existing accounts use Home Sharing?

    I'd like to use the new Home Sharing feature, but it appears to be restricted to families in which all of the family members share a single user account.
    We already have separate accounts for each family member. Is there some way for us to use Home Sharing without abandoning most of our existing accounts, along with all of the purchases made by those accounts? I don't think anyone in this situation would be willing to do that.

    Eh. I am not too sure since I have not messed with it much but I do have a great deal of experience with multiple accounts. Each computer can be authorized for multiple accounts. As can iPods. iPods can sync songs/videos/apps from multiple accounts as long as the computer is authorized with them. What I have set up here, is I buy my stuff I want, my parents buy what they want and so do my brothers. When my bro gets something I want I just move it to my computer. That way all our accounts are separate, but if there is something I want I can get it. Also, since the music no longer has DRM, it won't matter. It will play on any computer. What you should see is if you can just do the shared library with multiple accounts. Then if you don't have videos or such, you can get apps or music. Hope this helps!
