MUP always fails to run with spurious folder access and IPC issue.

Dear Mobile Heroes,
Every time I run a MUP on our Mobile Sales Application, the MUP fails
during the first folder copy (MSA\Layout). The log gives an incorrect
description of the error saying that the layout folder cannot be
accessed. The actual issue, and manual fix, is to go to
C:\program files\sap\mobile\tpsfiles and in properties uncheck
the "read-only" flag and cascade the change to all subordinate files. I
also need to kill the "IPC Start" process. After doing this, I can run
the MUP successfully.
What is the SAP fix for this? Is there a new
ClientUpgradeTarget.exe   to prevent all this nonsense?

Hi Rohit,
We are running Mobile Client 70SP4, the ClientUpgradeTarget.exe has a date of 16/07/2009 (size 436kb).
Regards,
Richard

  • I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build.  The same call works fine when running on the device

I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.
    Thanks!

After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

  • Previously OK report now fails to run with REP-1226

I have been developing a report with a fairly complex layout over several days, saving several versions of the report along the way (after running and testing them). The latest version of the report now fails to run (both as an RDF in Reports Designer and as a REP via rwservlet/oc4j) - It fails with error REP-1226 "Body location is beyond print area". I loaded a previously tested version of the report into the Designer and tried to run it - This also fails with REP-1226, as did the previous 2 versions of the report, ALL OF WHICH HAD PREVIOUSLY RUN OK, BOTH IN REPORTS DESIGNER AND RWSERVLET/OC4J.
Rebooted the machine, loaded a version of the report that had previously been tested and RAN OK, this now fails to run with REP-1226.
The Reports Designer in use is version 9.0.2.0.3, running against database version 9.2.0.1.0 both running on Windows XP - I tried loading the report into a later version of the Designer (10.1.2.0.2) and the same error occurs.
    Any ideas????

not sure if this will work,
    but you can just try.
Try increasing the width of the page.
Paper Layout -> Main Section -> Body(Right Click) -> Select "Property Inspector" and set width to any desired range.

  • Why do i always fail to run: RSPC_API_CHAIN_START

    Dear All,
Do u ever have this problem?
I have an external program (Ms. Excel) having objective to run RFC.
The RFC is to run function : RSPC_API_CHAIN_START (running Process Chain).
But why for login ID for my user always fail to run it. I think it's regarding authorization, but i've already checked it out by t-code SU53, i still get no clues from there.
And i've already tried to debug, i just got this error:
    error code: 022
    error msg: RSPC
And i've already checked it out to t-code ST22, i also found nothing.
Do you know what authorization i should be giving to that login ID ??
Do you know how to trace it ??
    Best regards,
    Niel.

    Tks for ur response..
I execute it from Ms. Office Excel.
This excel call RFC, where the RFC call FM: RSPC_API_CHAIN_START.
The abnormal one, my login id (developer user-id) capable to run smoothly (from Ms. Office Excel).
But when i tried use my client login id, it is unable to run it.
I've also tried to use our client login id to run the RFC by t-code se37 (i asked basis team to grant that authorization), but when i run it, i still get the error, and after i check by t-code SU53, i still can't get any clues there.
Do u have any idea ??
    Best regards,
    Niel.

If FaceTime ever worked properly for you, restarting your modem (and separate router/wireless if you have such) may help.  If the problem continues, try connecting at a different location to see if the problem is within your wi-fi.
The black dot problem may mean you need to reset your iPod.  If that does not help, it may need service by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
If you need help with any of these suggestions, detailed help on each topic is available via Apple's Support pages:

I have always paid for apps with a credit card and now need to use an app store card but I can't get past the point where it keeps wanting my credit card updated.  And can't used the app card number.  Any advice???

I do NOT like using my credit card if I don't have to, and I went out of my way to go buy an Apple gift card, which I successfully redeemed into my Apple account. However, when I use the Apple "Cards" app, it will not let me use anything other than my credit card. I tried purchasing a card, hopefulling it would come out of my Apple store balance, but no such luck -- it came out of my credit card.
Apple is becoming more like Microsoft every day.

  • HT1553 I did the back up as instructed... Installed a larger hard drive and followed the restore instructions... Now I get a white screen with a folder icon and blinking question mark. When trying to set startup with new drive I get a bless tool error...

I did the back up as instructed... Installed a larger hard drive and followed the restore instructions... Now I get a white screen with a folder icon and blinking question mark. When trying to set startup with new drive I get a bless tool error... Help!!

If you have installed a new hard drive , you will need to have formatted it in Disk Utility correctly. This may explain your problem.
Boot  into your 10.6 Install disk again at the top menubar > Utilities > select Disk utility and in there select your new hard drive, and select the tab Erase and choose to make the format as  Mac OS Extended Journaled. When that is finished look in the main window to make sure that the partition map scheme says GUID Partition Table.
Now go to the Restore tab and reinstall from your backup.

[Athlon64] Failed Bios update with both Live Update and Dos version = badchecksum shutdown

Sometimes bios recovery is a long shot .
But the award bios v.6 is supposed to be able to do it if the bootblock is still intact.
Best way seems to be to strip it down to minimal configuration , disconnect all drives except floppy , one ram module , perhaps without video card also .

  • Linking Access tables, creating a query with using both Access and Oracle

    Hello,
I am using 3.0.04.34 version Oracle Developer. I am supposed to create a script/procedure to use both Access tables and oracle tables together. There is an option in developer to copy the access tables into oracle. But it doesn't help me. Because when we updated the access tables
the copied ones are not be updated. How can I created a linked access tables to oracle and create a query with using both access and oracle table together.
I will appreciate if you guys help me. I look forward to hearing from you guys.
    Thanks,
    Pinar

    Pinar,
to be able to query MS Access tables in Oracle you need an additional product, the Oracle Database Gateway for ODBC. It allows you to link any foreign database into an Oracle database using a suitable ODBC driver. You can then access the MS Access tables through a database link based on the Database Gateway for ODBC. This will also allow you to join local Oracle and remote MS Access tables from your Oracle database.
There's a note on My Oracle Support which gives you more details:Document 233876.1 Options for Connecting to Foreign Data Stores and Non-Oracle Databases - For example - DB2, SQL*Server, Sybase, Informix, Teradata, MySQL
And there's also a dedicated Forum: Heterogeneous Connectivity

  • Itunes 9 Upgrade. Installs OK, but fails to run with 'Unknown Error(-50)'

Been running Itunes versions 7/8 very happily. Upgraded to 9.0 today. After installing, which reported no problems, Itunes failed to run, reporting a missing reference in CoreFoundation.dll. I tried a re-install, but with no improvement. I the un-installed Itunes, re-imported the Itunes 9 setup file (88Mbytes), re-installed the product, and still it does not run, reporting a -50 Unknown Error.
Not exactly impressive! I'd be grateful for any ideas, including how to revert to version 8. Thanks, ju

Thanks for the pointer to the KB article. Error 1 is missing from the list provided by iTunes (more information), but I was afraid it means hardware. Will try on another computer, but I'm afraid the phone is sick.
    Thanks,
    Manfred

  • Operations Manager failed to run a WMI query -Access Denied

v hosts to 2012 r2, and now we're seeing a lot of "Operations Manager failed to run a WMI Query", With "Object enumeration failed".
Query: 'SELECT Name, State FROM MSCLUSTER_NetworkInterface where Name="our host name
    - Management"' HRESULT: 0x80070005 Details: Access is denied.
Our Cluster run-as account is local admin on the hosts beeing monitored.
We've tried rebuilding the WMI database following this procedure:
    1. Disable and stop the WMI service.
         sc config winmgmt start= disabled
         net stop winmgmt
    2. Run the following commands.
Winmgmt /salvagerepository %windir%\System32\wbem      (I noticed that you have run this command, but I would suggest
    that you try it again)
         Winmgmt /resetrepository %windir%\System32\wbem
    4. Re-enable the WMI service and then reboot the server to see how it goes.
         sc config winmgmt start= auto
If the problem remains, then try the following steps to rebuild the repository:
    1. Disable and stop the WMI service.
sc config winmgmt start= disabled     (note that there is a blank between '=' and 'disabled')
         net stop winmgmt
    2. Rename the repository folder (located at %windir%\System32\wbem\repository) to repository.old.
    3. Re-enable the WMI service.
         sc config winmgmt start= auto
    4. Reboot the server to see if the problem remains.
but we've had no Luck so far. Any help would be
    appreciated!
    Regards,
    Torbjørn

Have you checked if DCOM is enabled, WMI will not be able to connect if its disabled.
Use the steps below to configure DCOM.
    Run dcomcnfg.exe
    Double-click Component Services
    Double-click Computers
    Right-click My Computer
    Select Properties
    Select Default Properties tab
Ensure the "Enable Distributed COM on this computer" checkbox is checked
    Default Authentication Level: Connect
    Default Impersonation Level: Identify
    Next:
    Click on COM Security tab
Click Edit Limits under "Launch and Acitvate Permissions"
Make sure Remote Launch and Activation permissions are enabled for the Administrators group
    Hope this helps

  • Running with nano 7th gen and sweat

I've had my nano since Christmas. I run with it attached to my arm with the Belkin arm band. When I complete my runs, I pull the nano out and find that its list on the back of the unit from my sweat seeping through the band. Last night my nano died. I unable to get any display or a y action when plugging it to iTunes. Has anyone else had this problem? Not sure if its a defective nano or if in fact it was the sweat that got to it. If it was the sweat, how does anyone exercise with one and keep it dry.

Put the iPod in you pocket next time, or if you are using Nike iPod, buy a clip and attach/clip it to your hip. This is a weird problem. You can get answers from the many other people experiencing this same problem and asking this same question on apple support communities. You can also ask apple by sending a complaint or just do a traditional web search on google. Sorry about your iPod):
