Muse accordion menu within folio article(s)

I’m working on an accordion menu created in Adobe Muse that is then used in a DPS folio created in InDesign.
The accordion menu resides on the Master Pages of the articles/documents, 6 articles total.
When the label is tapped, the accordion menu expands open >
The label is also a link that takes the reader to a page within the folio while expanding (using the navto://documentname#page formatting) >
Inside the content area of each label are subtopics that also navigate to different pages within the folio (also using the navto://documentname#page formatting).
My desire is that when a label is tapped and expands, the reader can then click on each subtopic and go to that page without the accordion menu collapsing as it goes to the page.
I’m finding that 99.9% of the time, the menu is collapsing. Other times I get the exact performance I desire.
I’m Ok with the menu collapsing as each label is tapped, but not the subtopics.
I’ve played around with setting the accordion properties by unchecking “Collapse All” and unchecking “Edit Together”, but can’t seem to edit these sections or the text boxes individually. It either sets ALL items in the accordion menu to Collapse All or not. No mixing of the two settings.
Within InDesign, it actually seems as though this menu, although on the Master Page, is functioning individually on each document page.
Is there a way to get the desired functionality, outlined above, with the accordion menu widget?
TIA,
Hunter

The only way you'd be able to keep the menu from being collapsed when you come back to the page is to write code in JavaScript to remember the state in localStorage and then read it back when the menu is re-opened. When your reader navigates to another article (and sometimes even page in the same article) in the folio via the menu we will clear the previous article from memory, and the state will be lost.

  • Static/Standard links within Muse Accordion menu widget

    Hi,
I'm a newcomer to Adobe Muse and so may have missed a menu or option somewhere along the line,
I'm trying to make a simple alteration to the standard Muse 'accordion' menu widget.
I'm re-creating a website I've already half built in Dreamweaver, it being a simple design I thought
this would be a good site to try to build with Muse. As you'll see here: http://www.thisisneil.com/rg-e/
the accordion on the left hand side has two static links sitting at the bottom of the menu linking to
a 'Contacts' page and 'Blog' hosted on Tumblr.
Within Muse, I can't embed these two standard links without the accordion function in the same field?!
Muse automatically applies the on-click, drop down sub-menu. Is there anyway of disabling the function
    on selected menu items?
I'd like the two static links to drop down, and pop back up with two two functioning accordion menu's
sitting above as they do within my dreamweaver example, but can't seem to amend the Muse menu
to behave in this way. A shame to fall at the first hurdle with such a simple menu amend!
Any help or thoughts much appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Muse accordion vertical mobile menu issues

    Adobe
I have two issues with your accordion vertical mobile menu.
    1. The menu does not line up on the right-hand side in the accordion widget when it’s in preview mode. The x and y in design mode both line up correctly with the menu inside the accordion so I know that this is not the issue. I have no outlines placed on any elements of the accordion menu. Is this a glitch? Is there a fix? I am running most current version of Muse.
    2. From my understanding I believe that the menu should be placed inside the widget (on master page) then when the menu is previewed the accordion should be closed and when it’s opened the objects that are below the menu should all move down. I have yet to accomplish any of this. Is this also a glitch or am I missing something?

Thank you for providing your file to the support team.
#1 is related to the fact the menu widget doesn't support 100% width, but in this case that isn't really necessary since mobile browsers scale to fit the width of the widest content.
So, the workaround in this case is to make the accordion not exactly fit in width. Make it one pixel wider and also make the menu inside the panel one pixel wider. Since this will make the accordion not exactly match the browser area width it won't be treated as 100% width. Instead the browser will scale it, and the menu within it, to fit the width of the device.
#2 is enabled by turning off the "Overlap Items Below" option in the accordion widget options UI.

You can either use separate accordions for sub topic or you would need to go with unchecked collapse all and then manually edit all contents.

  • Using an image as label in Spry Accordion Menu

I was wondering if it was possible to use an image instead of
text in the spry accordion menu. I have replaced the text that is
there with a roll-over image link however I'm unable to label it
since it uses the text as the label and therefore can't set the
default panel I want opened. Is there a way to do this? Thanks for

Is it possible to look at the Help or at the Pages User Guide
In the English one, page 17, we may read:
    • Some graphics, such as watermarks or logos, appear on pages. These objects are called master objects. If you cannot select an object in a template, it’s probably a master object. To learn more, see “Using Master Objects (Repeated Background Images)” on page 60.
You can drag or place objects on a page, including imported graphics, movies, and sound, or objects that you create within Pages, including text boxes, charts, tables, and shapes.
You can also insert pages that have been preformatted for the template you’re using. Click Pages or Sections in the toolbar and choose a template page. The new page is added immediately after the page where you placed the insertion point.

  • Accordion Menu to display image

    Hey guys,
I am in desperate need of some knowledgeable direction. Many thanks  up front for any help!!!!!
Situation: I am designing my company's resume page: 3 or 4 names within 6 different departments in an accordion menu.
Currently: I have a two level accordion menu on the left (department and then names within the department.) and a anchored DIV tag on the right.
Goal: When the user clicks on "Bob Example" text link in the "Engineering" department tab (accordion menu), I would like for it to open a picture of "Bob Example" on the right hand side.
Problem: I've named the anchor DIV tag, "biopic" and targeted the link the same name, however, when I click on the "Bob Example" text link - it opens the picture in a separate window. I have played around with targeting so much my brain is now mush.
Can anybody shed some light on why the "Bob Example" pic won't open on the right hand side?

    That link isn't much help.
All the assets are pointing to files on your local Z drive instead of the site folder.

  • Accordion Menu - Submenu position issue

    Hello,
I've created an accordion menu that resides in the top right corner of my website. I seem to be getting various undesired results when previewing the site.
    Desired layout: Build mode
    Undesired Result: Page Preview
    Undesired Result: Site Preview
The top level sites work fine but when I move the submenu to the left of the menu using the X position, then preview the page or site, the submenus show up either right over the menu or way off to the left of the site, almost completely off the page. I have no idea why, please help.
    Jeff

Hi Sanjit, thank you for your reply.
The first image is a from the Design View, the second is a page preview in browser and the final image is a site preview in browser. My default browser is Safari (also testing in Chrome however).
If I leave the menu with default settings, the submenus appear off the site's live area and when I preview they do not show up at all. Presumabley they are off to the right side of the site.
The menu is and has been set to "All Pages" and not manually throught my build. Other than plaving the vertical menu widget within the accordion widget, it is more or less default with exeption of some styling.
I will try to rebuild the menu and see if the problem is still occuring. If you have any further sugestions I would be happy to hear them.
    Thnaks again

  • Accordion menu pushes everything down instead of just what's directly below it

i have created an accordion menu in muse. i want the menu to push the elements directly below it down when it is opened, but it is pushing everything on the page below it down when it is opened. any ideas?

    Hi Luke,
Have you placed this accordion widget in a page template above the tag {tag_pagecontent}.
    If yes, the Accordion widget will move all the data that is rendered via {tag_pagecontent}

  • Wobbling image under accordion menu

    So the saga continues :)
I am using an accordion menu (about 150px x 300px) on the
right hand side of my page. It has three items when each one opens
downward they contain separate links within. Directly beneath this
accordion menu is a simple jpeg image. The problem is when I use
the accordion menu the image underneath it (not a background image,
it's positioned under the menu) wobbles as the accordion effect
animation of opening takes place. It looks almost as though the
accordion effect is coming out from the top of the image (which it
is not because the image is placed some distant from the bottom of
    the menu.
Is there a way I can prevent this from happening?

Well it seems this anomaly only occurs in Safari. What I have
noticed in Firefox though is a white dotted border goes around the
spry accordion menu after it's been activated, presumably because
it's Ajax. I'm not sure how to prevent that from happening.
So far I'm not terribly satisfied with this spry
    widgets.

  • Child items in Accordion menu

I need to be able to display 3-4 levels (children,
grandchildren, etc.) within the Accordion menu. Is there a way to
    do this?

    Hi Michael,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Have you run a permissions repair with Disk Utility in your utilities folder in Applications? A permissions problem in your Library could do this. As you probably know, a permissions repair is standard 'house keeping' on a Mac.
If this doesn't help, I would drag 'com.apple.systempreferences.plist' to your desktop (it is found in your Preferences folder in your Library, in your home folder) go into your System preferences, change something, change it back and then re-start to find out if it is fixed.
    Hope this helps,
    Karn.

  • HTML inserted into a MUSE accordion widget issue

In Adobe MUSE 2014.3.1.44, I have inserted an HTML snippet into a MUSE accordion widget:
    <script type=”text/javascript” src=”https://burkeauto.workstiming.com/external/next_available_time.js”></script>
When published all I see is the clock numbers to the top left corner of the page—no other page content and no accordion—just the unformatted clock at the top left corner.
The snippet works fine outside the accordion widget.
When not inside the accordion the HTML frame is normal, but as soon as I insert it into the accordion it adopts the attributes like other widgets, with the round blue icon on the top right corner of the frame and a stripped down context menu.
Adobe chat support has duplicated this on their end and suggested that I post the issue in the forum.
    Any thoughts?

    Brad,
Thanks for helping think this through!
First, yes, that is the whole script. There are actually two scripts (clocks) I want on a single page:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="https://burkeauto.workstiming.com/external/next_available_time.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="https://burkeautomall.workstiming.com/external/next_available_time.js"></script>
They can be seen properly functioning together here:  http://www.burkeauto.com/starttimes.html
I have been requested to put the page content from the above link in an accordion widget seen here:  http://www.burkeauto.com/genuine.html
Click on the Light Maintenance Service tab. This is where the two scripts (clocks) are to go. Currently by clicking "CLICK HERE FOR NEXT AVAILABLE START" I am linking to page with the scripts/clocks outside the accordion.
I tried the script/clock in the accordion and publishing the site with the Light Maintenance Service tab open—still does not work.
As mentioned in the original post, Adobe could replicate the issue, but did not offer any resolution, and the forum has been quite on my post.
    Any other thoughts?

  • Accordion menu spry link not working

I built an accordion menu spry using Dreamweaver CS5. I noticed that the navigation labels on the accordion menu cannot be linked to pages. Please see the Overview link on the accordion menu and notice that it does not not go to 'overview.html' as I added in the code. What am I doing wrong?

I see this in your spry css file - you might try removing the two user-select entries
    * NOTE:
    * This rule uses -moz-user-select and -khtml-user-select properties to prevent the
    * user from selecting the text in the AccordionPanelTab. These are proprietary browser
    * properties that only work in Mozilla based browsers (like FireFox) and KHTML based
    * browsers (like Safari), so they will not pass W3C validation. If you want your documents to
    * validate, and don't care if the user can select the text within an AccordionPanelTab,
    * you can safely remove those properties without affecting the functionality of the widget.
    .AccordionPanelTab {
