Muse Accordion tab - opening up instead of down.

I have a working accordion widget with about 10 tabs.
Suddenly noticed that two of the tabs are opening UP instead of DOWN....
meaning that the tab is at the bottom of the open panel instead of at the top as I would prefer.
At one time all were opening DOWN with the title tab at the top of the open panel...
but now those few are different and I dont know what i did and cannot find
a MUSE control for the behavior.
Dreamweaver help articles refer to controls that do not seem available in MUSE.
Any direction appreciated.
Thanks.
MP

Hello,
When you say the tabs are opening up UP instead of DOWN, are you talking about the design view of Muse or in the preview/publishes site?
Could you please provide us a link to your site where we can see the issue?

Sachin

  • Spry Accordion - Tabs open and then close after page loads

    I am using a Spry Accordion menu driven from a database.
    The menu opens up during the page load and then closes.
    I'm using SpryAccordion.js 1.6.1
    And to open a preset tab, I'm using:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    var Accordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("Accordion1",{useFixedPanelHeights:false, enableAnimation: false, defaultPanel: 0 });
    //-->
      </script>
    But, all of the tabs open and then close on page load.
    My page:   http://www.texashotjobs.us/00C01.aspx
    Any fix for this??
    Thanks, Ron

    Well to both thanks.  Actually I wasn't disappointed as I had a two part question...
    I tested the 1.6 JS and remembered that I had to modify the 1.4 so that tabs actually would link.  So I reverted back to 1.4.
    So, going to 1.6 fixed the open panel on load but "unfixed" the panel tab from linking.....
    So changing this in the 1.6 js fixed the link issue as well:
    Spry.Widget.Accordion.prototype.onPanelTabClick = function(e, panel)
        if (panel != this.currentPanel)
            this.openPanel(panel);
        else
            this.closePanel();
        if (this.enableKeyboardNavigation)
            this.focus();
    //    if (e.preventDefault) e.preventDefault();
    //    else e.returnValue = false;
    //    if (e.stopPropagation) e.stopPropagation();
    //    else e.cancelBubble = true;
    I t appears everything is working........
    Thanks, Ron Gaddis

  • Menus that open UP instead of down

    The site I am putting together in Flash CS3 has two menu
    headings at the bottom of the page. I know that usually the menus
    are at the top or on the side, but in this instance, they have to
    be at the bottom. That being said, when a user rolls over "Entry
    1", s/he should activate a vertical menu containing about six
    items. The menu should open UP so as to not break the frame with a
    drop-down menu. Once the menu is open, the user can click on one of
    its entries and navigate to a new page. Can someone here please
    help, or direct me to some code that does this?
    Thanks,
    Andrew

  • When opening a PDF file I get multiple blank tabs open up instead.

    I have installed and uninstalled adobe a few time but nothing changes.
    I'm running a new PC with windows 7.

    See [[Firefox keeps opening many tabs or windows]]
    You can have infinite tabs opening if you have selected Firefox as the application to handle a file if you get an Open with download window.
    Firefox should not be selected as the application to handle a file and you have to remove the action that is associated with that file type.

  • Accordion tab opens on SECOND clic (?)

    spry version 1.6.1
    url: http://www.lbwebmaster.it/operti/index.html
    I have created an accordion navigation menu, and it works, but when one clics on a tab it only "opens" on the SECOND clic. Meaning one has to clic a tab two times to get to the content.
    From there on, everything works fine all the time -- until a new page is opened. Then the problem reoccurs.
    can anyone help me solve this ?

    Hi, thanks a lot!
    Actually it now works - I shifted to jQuery.
    I republished last night.
    This does not mean that Spry isn't good, but after so
    many hours of trying to make it work (friends contacted
    all had the same "second clic" problem when trying to
    open the menu, on different computers and with
    different browsers) I just went another road.
    jQuery, for people like me, with no background at all,
    seems simpler to understand and handle, and that helped
    a lot.
    But really, thank you so much for caring!
    I think the positioning of the menu now should be
    right?
    It does stay in the header part, and that is meant. At
    some point it was not in the exact desired position,
    but now it seems to be right. At least in the
    home-page.
    Today I will check the entire site, after a lot of
    shifts and changes in the templates...
    I'm new to all this, I'm only a graphics designer who
    had to turn coder overnight, because my supplier gave
    up on the JavaScript & css tech problems with my
    desired effects.
    Not that I find it overly demanding to want an
    accordion and a couple of slideshows... but we are in
    Italy, this is a country where websites mainly have
    broken links, unworkable pages, "pages not yet done",
    "we'll be there soon"-pages for years on end, and no
    response on emails sent to the sites.
    Demanding pure css with some javascript evidently was
    too much.
    There's a lot of road to cover. Big sites of course
    work, but the standards used in the US and generally
    are not met here, at ground-level.
    But when this website is up and correct I will surely
    start studying css from scratch, learn to do my sites
    by myself,
    and get som grounding in implementing JavaScript.
    But for now, I just needed something to work, fast and
    immediately
    Do well!

  • Firefox will not open can't open preferences or anything was responding slow earlier in the day had been closed with 2 tabs open when trying to open in the second tab it responded really slow so sut down and used Safari instead

    <u>'''Safe Mode'''</u>
    You may need to use '''[[Safe Mode]]''' (click on "Safe Mode" and read) to localize the problem. Firefox Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode that disables Extensions and some other features of Firefox. If you are using a theme, switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes <u>'''before'''</u> starting Safe Mode. When entering Safe Mode, do not check any items on the entry window, just click "Continue in Safe Mode". Test to see if the problem you are experiencing is corrected.
    See:
    '''[[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]'''
    '''[[Troubleshooting plugins]]'''
    '''[[Basic Troubleshooting]]'''
    If the problem does not occur in Safe-mode then disable all of your Extensions and Plug-ins and then try to find which is causing it by enabling <u>'''one at a time'''</u> until the problem reappears. <u>'''You MUST close and restart Firefox after EACH change'''</u> via File > Restart Firefox (on Mac: Firefox > Quit). You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window.

  • When I have many tabs open, & I am viewing the 1st one in the row of tabs, how can I make ctrl+T open tab next to it instead of down at the end of all the tabs?

    If, for example, I have 50 tabs open, and I happen to be working on the very first tab out of the long row of tabs (tab #1 out of 50 total tabs)....if I suddenly need a new tab next to the one I'm on so that I can do something else related to what I am doing on my current tab's website, pushing ctrl+t opens up the new tab clear down at the very end of the long row of tabs (i.e., the new tab would be tab #51). How can I make the new tab open up right beside the one I'm working on at the moment?

    You would need an extension to achieve this
    You can look at this extension:

  • Accordion tabs w/panel sub-nav - default open issues

    I have a spry accordion in a left sidebar, and I'm using it as navigation for a slideshow for a website I'm working on. Each of my 5 accordion tabs has a different category of slideshow, with each panel having multiple sub-navigation links that each link to a different slideshow which appears in the main part of the page (to the right of the sidebar). Say it's something like this:
    VENUES (tab)
    (start panel)
    Bayside Restaurant (link)
    Historic Ballroom (link)
    Western Ranch (link)
    (end panel)
    ACTIVITIES (tab)
    (start panel)
    Surfing (link)
    Dancing (link)
    Horse back riding (link)
    (end panel)
    The sub-navigation to each slideshow is activated by simply clicking on the text, which I linked with the "point to file" link tool in the properties menu.
    Ideally, I'd like to work with one template in Dreamweaver for all pages/slideshows I'm creating, but I'm running into a problem.  I know how to change the default panel in the .js so that a different one appears open when a user first accesses the page, but I can't figure out how to get the default panel to change when the user clicks on a different panel and attempts to use the subnavigation.  The subnavigation works just fine (it takes the user to the correct slideshow), but then the panel snaps shut instead of remaining open on the one the user selected.
    (So, to further explain with the example above, say the user wanted to look at all the links in the "Venues" tab, but the default is to have the "Activities" tab open on arrival.  The "Venues" tab opens just fine on the click, but as soon as the user clicks on, say "Bayside Restaurant," the correct slideshow appears to the right, but then the "Venues" tab snaps shut and the "Activities" tab and its sub-navigation appears open again. The user then has to click on the "Venues" tab again if s/he wants to see the other options and view a different slideshow, rather than simply being able to click on the next link.)
    I tried making multiple templates, with different default panels open as a solution, but that's not working either. . .for some reason it keeps defaulting back.
    Does this make sense?  Are there any solutions to this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Rebekka

    I think I found your problem.  It lies in the Javascript:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    var indexAccordion = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("indexAccordion");
    var acc1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("indexAccordion", { useFixedPanelHeights: false });
    </script>
    You have essentially duplicated the code in order to accomodate the useFixedPanelHeights.  Consolidate it into single one, and remove the duplicate:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> var acc1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("indexAccordion", { useFixedPanelHeights: false }); </script>
    IE might be having trouble understanding the double instances of the script and is ignoring the latter one.  Just keep the latter one and it might fix it.
    Also, thanks for the tip, but I use Chrome's Developer Tools... it just didn't cross my mind since I've been busy =)

I close and reopen firefox numorous (Im talking 7 or 8 times or many more) and shut down the zynga game and still it wont load the tabs or if it does and I then try to add the game or any other site at all on a tab it causes firefox to stop working (though not close) and I have to restart opening and closing it many times to get it to work at all.

    1st, you will not be able to activate your PPro1.5 on ANY new computer, see next link for the special version you MUST use

    2nd, you already mentioned Virtual XP, so if a direct install doesn't work, that would be the way to go... or, to just do what SHOULD work from the start, just do Virtual XP

  • With multiple tabs open, I use to click File, close tab---now close tab is missing and I exit out of Firefox completely. How do I get that choice back "close tab" in the "File" drop down? Thanks. George C.

    The drop down "FILE" in the tool bar use to have a choice to "CLOSE TAB". This is now missing so when I have multiple tabs open and I want to close the most recent, I cannot. I then get warned that I will be closing multiple numbers of tabs, but there is no other choice.
    How do I get the "CLOSE TAB" back in the drop down "FILE" in the tool bar

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • I want to view web sites in more than one open window instead of tabs. How do I change the settings to do that?

    I want to have more than one window open with firefox at the same time instead of having multiple web sites up using tabs. but every time I try to do this a tab opens instead. I am using windows 7.

    You can copy a bookmark from one folder and paste it in another folder to have a copy in more than one folder.

  • I have a problem a tabs each time I open a fresh webapge it will open up in a previously open page instead of opening in a fresh page. WHY? BTW Open in a new windows instead is ticked

    I have two tabs up "facebook and download.com" now if I click on a fresh page I hope to see a 3rd tab open up but no! it just opens up in one of the two tabs I have already have open.
    I have no idea why this is!

    The setting in Tools > Options > Tabs: "New pages should be opened in": "a new tab/window" is for links that specify a target window to open the link in.<br />
    That option allows you to divert such links to a new tab or to the current tab.
    * Hold down the Ctrl key and left-click a link or middle-click a link to open a link or bookmark in a new tab.
    * Hold down the Shift key in addition to the Ctrl left-click or middle-click to toggle loading in the background.
    * Hold down Shift and left-click a link to open a link in a new window.
    Links that do not specify a target window open by default in the current tab.

  • In ff 36 when siging out of a website another tab opens instead of closing the current tab

    When I updated to V.36 this action started . With certain websites when I try to sign out instead of the webpage closing, a new tab opens and the home page of the same website opens. The original tab is still open with my account information still logged on and the only way to log off is to click the X on the Tab.
    The problem disappears when I uninstalled Tab Mix Plus. This issue did not happen in the earlier version of FF and I always used Tab Mix Plus with the previous versions.

    Instead of closing the tab where you logged out, what if you reload it using Command+r (or the reload button in the address bar). Does it show that you are properly logged out at that point?
    My guess is that the site is sending a redirect after logout and somehow that is getting diverted to a new tab for some reason instead of loading in the same tab. I don't have any good guess as to why that would happen. You might pose this question on the Tab Mix Plus support forum to see whether it's a setting you can change or a compatibility issue with Fx36:

    That happens if the server sends the file as text/plain.
    You can see this if you open "Tools > Page Info > General": Content-Type: text/plain
    Files send this way will always open in a tab.

    How do I make new tabs open to my specified home page instead of blank page?

    I generally like to avoid add-ons, and the second option is still an extra step - not opening tabs to the homepage, as requested (rather how to switch to your Home page after a tab opens to the blank page).
    Here's a wild idea: How 'bout a setting option in Tools > Options > Tabs for "Always open new tabs to my Home page" ?
