Muse / Edge problem

I have sent in my edge projects out the way that I have been recommended by abobe. They go into muse with no problem. They load into browser preview perfectly. When I ftp them to Domain.com (which I have never had a problem with) they are not coming up, Just giving me the 403 error (which is my favorite "the return no error) Any thoughts?

Muse/ Edge hyperlink problem

I created an animation in Edge with hyperlinks.
The links were set to _self instead of _blank, which I have now corrected.
Placed the animation in Muse.
But (even though I have renamed/ deleted the original asset) the problem remains in the page I want the animation on:

If I create a fresh page, it works fine:

Any ideas? It's like Muse isn't quite updating the code correctly?

Need a fix for Muse upload problems to GoDaddy???? I found one!

GoDaddy now has a new cpanel named "Plesk". In that panel you will find File Manager. (I use the Windows version). In the left panel of File Manager, you will see the root directory and all of its subfolders. When you click on any of these folders, you will see their contents in the right panel. You will also see a folder labelled "httpdocs". This is the default folder that is set up in GoDaddy to be your "home" folder. So, to fix your upload problems, do these steps:
1. Click on the httpdocs folder to see it open in the right panel. In the toolbar above the right panel, you will see a green plus sign with the word "New". Click on this drop-down menu.
2. Choose "directory"
3. Type in the name of one of the folders that your site will need, e.g. images, css, assets, scripts, etc. This basically creates a subfolder within the httpdocs folder, right? (There is a way to see how your Muse site sets up these folders prior to publish or upload. You do this by choosing "Export as HTML" in the File menu of Muse, creating a folder on your desktop (or wherever) for the HTML export, then inspecting its contents after your save it.)
4. Continue to create all the subfolders within httpdocs that you will need. Unfortunately, you have to do this one folder at a time.
5. After you have them set up, begin the process of uploading your site, like this:
6. In the File menu in Muse, you'll of course see "Upload to FTP Host ...". Click on it.
7. A dialog box will open. In the top text field, type in your website name ... you must use www. with your entry
8. In the "FTP Host" field, type in your domain name again like this ... "ftp.yourdomain.com" ... NO FORWARD SLASHES!!! (even if you find instructions to the contrary, like in Filezilla) (Also, your domain might be a .org or .net, instead of a .com)
9. In the "Host directory" field, YOU MUST ENTER "httpdocs"!!!! Despite what you learn, DO NOT LEAVE THIS FIELD BLANK!!!
10. Then enter your GoDaddy username and password. (If you set up a different username for your GoDaddy account and your Plesk account, like I did, then use your Plesk username and password.)
11. Click on "Upload: All Files"
The next few steps are tedious, but necessary to keep your site organized on GoDaddy and to keep from confusing things. You can probably get away with it, but, if your site doesn't load properly in a browser after doing the above steps, you'll need to click on each folder in the root directory that you copied as a subfolder in the "httpdocs" folder and delete the files. For example, in the left panel of File Manager, you'll see the root directory. Click on the "images" folder. If there are any images that you need for your site in that folder, delete them. Remember ... you've already copied them over to the images subfolder in httpdocs during your last upload described in the instructions above. If you don't trust that you can delete them, click on the "httpdocs" folder, then click on the "images" folder and check the files. Same files, right? So, go ahead and delete the site files that you find in the appropriate folders in the root directory, making sure that you don't delete the ones that are NOT duplicated within the "httpdocs" folder. Also remember that your .html pages will not require a subfolder to be set up in the "httpsdocs" folder. They can just sit there, looking pretty. But you will have to delete them from the root directory to keep things tidy. Just click on the folder icon next to "root directory", and you'll see those html pages in the right panel. Again, delete them.
REMEMBER: To keep your Muse uploads to your GoDaddy site error free, you must ALWAYS make sure that "httpdocs" appears in the "Host directory" field in the "Upload to FTP Host ..." dialog box in Muse. And all files and folders that your site needs MUST go in the "httpdocs" folder in the root directory of your site in GoDaddy's File Manager (now found in your Plesk Panel).
I hope this wasn't too confusing. If so, call GoDaddy. I called them with this fix and they are using it in their phone support.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was going out of my mind. And GoDaddy was no help (although they're usually really good.) I put all the folders in "httpdocs" and the website worked perfectly!

Adobe Muse install problem April 2014 - Errors encountered during installation (7).

ERROR: Third party payload installer InstallAdobeMuse.exe failed with exit code: 7
This is the 3rd time that I have lost my Muse installation. Yes, the app just disappeared. Uninstallers cannot find it. A search cannot locate any files. It just disappeared from my computer. When I attempt to reinstall through CC Desktop App, I get the "ERROR: Third party payload installer InstallAdobeMuse.exe failed with exit code: 7" message. Yes, I was logged in to Adobe during the attempts. I downloaded and used the Adobe cleaner to clean the app but since there is no app, there is nothing to clean. I shut down anti-virus and firewall but won't install. Installation failed at 53%, 80% and 93%. Other apps (Illustrator CC, etc.) work fine. Is this a problem with Windows installer?

Sorry about the humongous text in the previous reply, I guess this forum cannot adjust copied and pasted text. Or, I don't know where the text format options are.
Let me tell you, I am elated! I did go through the instructions in the site you linked to (http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-exit-6-exit-7.html), and did two things:
In the section named Solution 1, number 3: renamed the AdobePatchFiles to AdobePatchFiles_old. I didn't do any of the others, because I picked a likely culprit out of the 4 actual options listed, and got lucky I guess.
Next, I found a folder named Adobe Muse in my drive and just deleted the whole puppy. Btw, it was not in the place where I expected it to be (x64 > Adobe > Muse) but in another Adobe folder. I wish apps would stay put in one place and not spread themselves all over the folder structure. Could be a MS problem and not sofware developers, but I don't want to put blame where it doesn't belong.
Next, I went back to CC Desktop and clicked on Muse install and voila, it installed. Now, I just have to see if it gets corrupted again. I hope not. You may see me back in this forum

Refine Edge Problem

After doing some google searches, I've decided to bring the question a new.
I am using Adobe CS5 on Windows Vista (32-bit).
My refine edge tool has stopped working properly. Rather than refining my edge selection, it sort of blends my selection into transparency, making the final product look extremely sloppy (the point to be made here is that the tool does not funciton as it does on tutorials and examples).
I have already tried:
1.) Setting up a new user account on my computer
2.) Resetting tool presets
3.) installing updates
The problem remains. Any wisdom on this issue?

Let me first take the time to thank you. I very much appreciate your efforts to help me. At the very least, you're helping me to refine my issue.
I have another set of pics to show the problem better in light of your comments.
Starting picture (the stark black background seems like I should be able to get a decent selection):
First, a picture of the general selection made using quick select in refine edge (note no settings are applied at the moment):
Second, the same selection with radius set to 30.0 (smart radius applied):
Note already there are colors taken away from the original selection and an odd transparency going on with the edges (I know the "decontaminate color" is checked here, but that made no difference to the photo.

Not only does it not help, it makes the thing look worse.

I just seems to me like something is wrong with the program/tool. I'm going to connect with Adobe tomorrow and try to work through this issue. I hate not being able to get the results that I know are supposed to be acheivable with the program.

Refine Edge Problem - Tool Won't Work

Hi there,
I have a problem with the Refine Edge tool in Photoshop CS3.
I make my selection, press "Refine Edge", make the changes I require and the preview shows everything is fine.
I click "OK", the Refine Edge box disappears and my changes do as well! The only difference is that my original selection area has decreased (I'm no pro, but it looks as though the edges have been feathered.)
I have no other layers except for the duplicated background.
I have tried older Photoshop files and this tool does not work for them either - even though I have used Refine Edge at work successfully before, but this was on another computer.
Perhaps I have accidentally adjusted a setting?
Please help, this is driving me crazy!

Are you viewing at 100%? If not the change may not show. Otherwise reset the Refine Edge dialog to default and try again.
If this doesn't fix it try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.

You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.

Quick Selection Refine Edge Problem

Using CC 2014.2.2, and the Quick Selection tool, when I go to Refine Edge the Refine Radius Tool/Erase Refinements Tool
is grayed out. When this is clicked, and the cursor moved to the selection, what shows is a slashed circle. (The universal
sign for "No").
I've tried various views, settings, and layer arrangements, and changed the bit from 16 to 32 to 8, and nothing seems to allow
those tools to be used. I've also reset the Quick Selection tool.

You have View set to Marching Ants. I think every other option will allow the use of the brush.
A couple of tips:
Any amount of Smoothing will prevent Refine Edge of selecting individual strands of hair. Negative values of Shift edge will have the same effect. If you think about it — if a hair is two pixels wide, and you set Shift edge to -4 the hair has gone.
Try setting View to Black, uncheck Show Original, switching in and out of Show radius. This will show if your radius extends far enough, but equally important, shows if you have painted 'into' the image. This can cause the annoying softening of edges.
Don't use Decontaminate colours until you have the other settings working well. I don't think I have ever needed to use such a high setting for it.
One problem with having Remember settings checked, is that it can overwrite useful defaults. For instance, checking Decontaminate colors switches the output to New layer with layer mask, and that is really useful as it allows you to clean up the selection manually.
Refine Edge was a real game changer, and dramatically speeded up the selection process. Unfortunately, I don't think it was anything like as intuitive as Adobe would have us believe, and nor have any of the tutorials I've seen really and truly got a grip on it. The Martin Evening tutorial maybe comes close.

CS4 refine edge problem

So I pick my layer, using the wand, everything is all good, the refine edge works It shows the preview and all, and then when I click "OK" It does not apply the changes I checked around the forum this seems to be a problem alot of people had in CS3 but I'm in CS4.

Adobe Muse - Big problems with SEO/Metadata?

Hello,
I recently completed mysite using adobe muse but I'm having major problems with the metadata tool, essentially it does not work.
I cannot find my site anywhere on google unless I type in the domain itself despite the fact that I have inserted a full description and several keywords. When it does appear the description isn't what it's supposed to be. Rather than take the actual description it just takes a paragrapgh from my site.
Does the metadata option on Adobe Muse actually work? Has anyone used it successfully. Seems to be a major flaw in the Adobe Muse product.

Thanks so much sir but a few more questions..(I am a Wordpress user) Where do I find or how do I *** " semantic properties to your pages by creating paragraph styles, applying them, and then choosing the tag type in the paragraph style options. You can add h1, h2, and so on, for example.
I am trying to learn this Muse..seems very positive but I cannot figure out how to do seo with muse as I have not figured out where to insert Meta info , header info or tags like i can with WordPress. Do you have any suggestions on this...also, have you had any luck with contact forms in Muse?..is it possible to export some of the new widget features of Dreamweaver CS6 into muse somehow.
Maybe I cab aleady do contact forms..Im I overlooking it?

WIFI --- EDGE problem

Sorry for the new thread.. I don't know how to delete my other one. I found my own question confusing, so wanted to re-phrase my post:
Basically the problem seems to be from the Wifi to EDGE transition. When I leave the house and the WiFi gets out of range, EDGE doesn't start working. E-mails won't check and I cannot connect on SAFARI or AppStore.
It then works for a while and then locks up again... I need to switch On and Off Airplane mode to restart EDGE... it gets annoying after a while..
I cannot replicate the problem by simply turning off Wifi when I'm at home.
Does this sound like a problem I should call Apple on? I hate the long wait time, so I'm hoping someone has an answer here...

I cant use safari or youtube when I am not conected tu a wi-fi connection, on the iphone it is shown the icon of the EDGE connectionthe square with the E inside) but when I try to use both safari or youtube it show a message "Could not activate EDGE: You are not subscribed to EDGE". On the edge configuration I have:
- APN: wap.cingular
- username: [email protected]
- Password: CINGULAR1
I am living in the uk , london. What could be the problem and how can i solve it ?

Bad news man. All the licensed UK iPhones shipped with a later version than that...
You've got an unlocked phone. O2 is not going to be able to help you as that phone is no longer supported by Apple (the unlocking process voids your license agreement with Apple).
Sadly, the TOU of this forum prohibit us from helping you any further as well. You need to go to Google to try to find a fix.

6303 EDGE PROBLEM

Until the last week or so my WAP has connected fine through GPRS, within the last week it has started connecting through GPRS sometimes and other times using EDGE. When it connects through GPRS it connects fine but after a few minutes it changed over to EDGE, other times it only connects through EDGE. My problem is whenever it tries to use EDGE nothing happens, won’t connect to anything. Even if its already connected through GPRS then changes over it just won’t go any further until it changes back to GPRS. I’m on Orange and I’ve done a Network coverage test and my home address signal should be “very good”. My question is can I somehow get my phone to only use GPRS instead of EDGE?

Your problem seems with your operator. Check if the same problem exists with other operator. Coz i use the same phone and From GPRS to EDGE and from EDGE to GPRS mode it changes automatically as per the location my phone is in. Usually rural areas are not yet covered with EDGE. Infact EDGE should be more efficient than GPRS. :-)

I Spend most of the time trying to fix Muse's Problems

I'm getting more than a little tired of Muse's unreliability with it's output.
The amount of times I output a website and it 'decides' not to output an image is driving me nuts. It's a never ending cycle of trying to keep the site together.
I output a page. Then there's an image that decides it won't show up. I then open Muse, re-place that image and its shows up on the next output. Then I create the mobile site. Then the mast head on the main site decides to dissappear.
ad inifinitum.
I have this problem since the first version of muse. We are in version 6 and this still happens! I'm trying to build a service offering around this app, but I spend so much time trying to get Muse to do what is says it does, that I waste hours and hours on issues like these.

I have opened the FTP site, and cleared the directory and re-uploaded with 'All Files' option in the upload to FTP. Notice the Twitter bad in the red stripe also missing. I've given up trying to get that to come out. The yellow banners at the top are missing. And there is meant to be one in the footer aswell.
Just venting my frustration...
Can we figure this out? What is going on?

Thus far I've been unable to reproduce the bug you're encountering. I expect the bug is either related to memory management or the specific timing of events related to when the image was last read in off disk (out of the .muse file) by Muse. Either way, I haven't had any luck so far with reproducing the memory environment or timing necessary to reproduce the bug.
Here's some additional information regarding how/when Muse decides to generate and upload new versions of files. It may help you workaround the bug while we continue to attempt to reproduce it so we can track down and fix the underlying cause.
When you Publish, Upload to FTP Host, or Export as HTML, Muse includes a file named manifest.xml. This file stores information about the state of all the pages in the site at the time of the publish/upload/export and all the files that were published, uploaded or exported.
The next time you publish, upload or export, the first step is that Muse grabs the manifest.xml file that already exists. It uses the information in the file to determine which pages have changed (and thus what files need to be generated) and then verifies the data for each generated file is in fact different than what's already present before it takes the time to upload or write the file to disk.
The theory for what's happening when the bug occurs is the an image is failing to draw either due to a poorly handled low memory situation or due to a timing problem where the publish/upload/export process is actually producing the file before Muse has completed creating the image that should appear in the file.
Once this bug has occurred and the blank image file has been uploaded, the information in the manifest.xml will cause Muse to believe everything is up-to-date and a subsequent publish/upload/export will not update the blank image, even if a subsequent publish/upload/export attempt would have created a correct image file.
When the bug has occurred, if you change anything about the page where the error is occurring (i.e. just nudge an item one pixel right then one pixel left), Muse will generate the data for all the files associated with the page and then check to see if the data differs from what's in the files recorded in the manifest.xml during the previous publish/upload/export. Assuming this operation successfully created the image the data will be seen as different and the corrected image file should be published/uploaded/published by this second attempt.
It would be helpful to know whether or not this "alter the page" and re-publish approach works or not, since that knowledge may help us narrow down the root cause of the bug.
If it doesn't work initially, then quit and relaunch Muse, alter the page and re-publish. Doing so will make an out of memory situation very unlikely and it will be likely to change when image is loaded into memory relative to when it's needed by the export process.
My apologies for not having a quicker resolution for this.
Anyone else reading this thread that's encountering the same or similar bug with images exporting as blank, please speak up. Given how difficult it is to reproduce, having multiple example .muse files that have encountered the bug may make it easier to find a common underlying cause. Thanks.

Muse 2014 - Problems after converting a Site with Safari

After converting a site to muse 2014 and exporting it to html the JS-error message "Einige der Dateien auf dem Server fehlen oder sind ungültig. Löschen Sie den Browser-Cache und versuchen Sie es erneut. Wenn das Problem weiterhin besteht, wenden Sie sich an den Autor der Website." ("Some of the files of the server are missing or incorrect") apears when opening every site.
I did not made any change to the site itself, the site was only converted and re-exported.
The error is only shown with Safari, but i only tried with IE 10 under Windows

When you republish your site, make sure you upload all files. New versions of Muse may change JavaScript files or CSS files for pages that you have not changed. The error message is indicating there are expected files that are missing or that files it found and loaded were generated from an older version and need to be updated.
