Mutliple Sorting in CRM List

When looking in "Contacts" at a list it is only possible to sort this list by one column at a time. We need to be able to sort by multiple columns in order to manage the data efficiently.
Exporting to excel and sorting is not what we want to do - we would like to be able to do this within CRM to save time.
Can this be done?
Please provide the any comments.

Syed Asif

I suggest that you recreate the list as a report and then, in the Create Layout step, edit the Table view. Click Edit Table View Properties and check the Enable column sorting  in Dashboards option.
If you preview the report, you should notice that the column headers are clickable and will sort the column values when clicked. Clicking another header will remove the previous sorting done.
Here's the trick: Press CTRL while clicking the next header and it will re-sort the columns, but this time, it will observe the previous sort preference! Pressing CTRL is like using a "then by" statement: "Sort by column X, then by column Y, then by column Z, in that heirarchy."
You can also put the report in a dashboard for easy access. :D

  • Sorting singly linked list with minimum time complexity

    Hi ...
    anyone could tell me how can i sort singly linked list with minimum time complexity .... ????
    Regards...

    By MergeSort or QuickSort O(n log n). But then you
    have to first extract the objects in the list,sort
    them, then rebuild the list. But it will still bealot
    faster than by keeping the list linked.Technically, I believe insertion sort is marginally
    faster for small n ( <20 or so).Woohoo! So for 20 out of the possible 2147483648 array
    sizes Insetion is faster!
    Unfortunately, checking for that case probably wastes
    all the time you get from using the faster sort...
    That would depend on the actual distribution off array sizes. So it's an engineering decision.

  • Contact sorting broken in "Lists" print option?

    Wanted to print a simple contact list out of Address Book / er um... "Contacts".
    If i select "Mailing Lables", "Envelopes", or "Pocket Address Book"  everything seems to work as it should.
    However, if i select "Lists" the sort-order of list is completely messed-up.  I can't even make a guess at what criteria it might be trying to sort by, but it certianly isn't the names.

  • How to sort Reminders (in List mode)?

    How do I sort Reminders (in List mode) in chronological sequence according to due date?
    It works automatically in iCloud via web browser, but apparently not in the iPhone Reminders app. Please help. Thank you!

    Apparently, Apple thinks you don't need to sort them. They will thus appear in the order you create them. This is also bugging me though, along with all of the other problems with this app. (not possible to set due date on iPhone)
    Oh, if you want to help, submit this "feature" to Apple at this page:

  • How can I sort the delegates list?

    I am using iCal in an office situation and am managing a large number (15) of delegates (they all have their own calender).
    I can sort the delegates list via Preferences, Accounts, Delegation and then add the delegates I need in the order that I prefer.
    But I am looking for a more easier way to sort this list.
    Who can help me with this?

    Hi Katherine,
    You have to specify the order manually I'm afraid.

  • Sort the themes list?

    Hello!
    I can't figure out how Keynote sorts its themes list. There are a few that I use a lot, and others that I don't use much at all. Unfortunately, a couple that I want regularly are at the bottom of my 60+ themes list... and are a drag to use when I use multiple variants of a theme in a presentation to represent different concepts/ideas. Is there an easy way to reorder the list?

    Some versions of Keynote alphabetize at the folder level first, then the theme level (you can have folders in your themes folder), others just read every theme and then put them in order. If you want things to be at the top, you can go into the themes folder and put spaces or other characters at the front of the theme name. Keep in mind that the Apple themes will ALWAYS be at the top because they're inside the Keynote application, not in the themes folder.

  • How can I sort the target list in debug form.

    If I want to select a procedure/function to debug it is very hard to find it if the package contains a lot of procedures. How can I sort the target list. I did not find anything in the preferences. Thanks.

    Sorry, can't be done. You can request this at the SQL Developer Exchange though, so other users can vote and add weight for possible future implementation.
    My suggestion (if you decide to request it): base the order in the dialog on the order inside the navigator tree (location in the source by default, but possible by name or type/name - see tree's context menu).

  • BUG: Sorting drop-down lists from the field tab when using "specify item values"

    Hi all,
    I've finished creating my form now, but I came across this whilst writing up my documentation for maintenance tasks.
    This occurs when adding new values to a drop-down list that has the "Specify item values" checkbox in the binding tab checked.
    When I then try to sort my list using the built in sort buttons, it will sort the items, but the list of specified values in the binding tab does not sort reorder to stay with the original items in the list.  This is hapenning when I sort from the Object > Field tab.  If I sort in the Object > Binding tab then the sort will include the specified values.
    For example:
    A    5
    C    2
    D    9
    Add a new value to get:
    A    5
    C    2
    D    9
    B    10
    Sort the list using the button:
    A    5
    B    2
    C    9
    D    10
    But it should be:
    A     5
    B     10
    C     2
    D     9

    I was able to duplicate this problem and it looks like a possible bug.  I've submitted it to support.

  • Sort order in list wrong: in CAML and in view

    Hello,
    When I order my list with document sets by ID, the order is wrong. It is wrong in the list and with caml.
    This is my view (I just set the sort on the ID column):
    The first 4 objects are created by the Client Object Model; the last 4 are created by a SharePoint webpart that I developped myself...
    My code for creating document sets in COM is something like this:
    ListItemCreationInformation newItemInfo = new ListItemCreationInformation
    UnderlyingObjectType = FileSystemObjectType.Folder,
    LeafName = _strLeafname // = date in format YYYYMMDDhhmmss
    ListItem newListItem = myList.AddItem(newItemInfo);
    newListItem["ContentTypeId"] = targetDocumentSetContentType.Id.ToString();
    newListItem["Title"] = title;
    newListItem.Update();
    clientContext.Load(myList);
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();
    The code in the webpart is this:
    SPContentType docsetCt = myLst.ContentTypes[p.GetFromResourcefile("xxxxxxxxxxxxxx")];
    Hashtable properties = new Hashtable
    {"DocumentSetDescription", ""},
    {"Title", txtTitle.Text}
    SPFolder parentFolder = myLst.RootFolder;
    int newId = GetLastId(myLst) + 1;
    DocumentSet ds = DocumentSet.Create(parentFolder, newId.ToString(CultureInfo.InvariantCulture), docsetCt.Id, properties, true);
    ds.Item["Title"] = title
    ds.Item.Update();
    why is the sort order wrong?
    if i do this query in the U2U Caml builder, the order is also wrong
    <OrderBy><FieldRef Name='ID' Ascending='FALSE' /></OrderBy>
    if i order by "created", the order is also wrong....
    i don't get it....

    Document Sets are great tools for grouping multiple documents together. However, if every set has exactly one document, it would be better to just upload the file and not place it within a Document Set:
    Uploading documents using object model - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ms454491(v=office.14).aspx
    Uploading documents using web services -
    http://cecildt.blogspot.com/2010/10/upload-documents-to-sharepoint-2010.html
    If you have requirements to use Document Sets, keep in mind that this adds a layer of complexity beyond a simple Document Library. Behind the scenes, each Document Set is treated as a separate folder, and although can you query items within it, there might
    be extra steps for getting the sort order to ignore the folder structure. Can you try setting the Scope to be "Recursive" and also specify that you are looking only for files and not folders:
    <Eq><FieldRef Name='FSObjType'/><Value Type='Lookup'>1</Value></Eq></Where>

  • Sorting of user list in 'ACT AS' by displayname -OBIEE 11G

    Hi,
    I have configured 'ACT AS' successfuly in obiee 11g . We have written the following query to populate user name and displayname in the act as drop down .
    <getValues>EXECUTE PHYSICAL CONNECTION POOL DAA2.DAA2 select USERNAME, DISPLAYNAME from SIEBEL_USERS </getValues>
    With this query the list is getting ssorted by USERNAME .
    However, our client expects the user list to be populated in the ascending order of the DISPLAYNAME.
    I tried modifying the above query as below in the xml file to implement the same .
    <getValues>EXECUTE PHYSICAL CONNECTION POOL DAA2.DAA2 select USERNAME, DISPLAYNAME from SIEBEL_USERS Order by 2 desc </getValues>
    But the liste is still getting sorted by USERNAME. Could anyone give some pointers to achieve this requirement ?

    Thanks Veeravalli, I did exactly the same. Editing the registry didn't help so I deleted the service from registry and create it again and before that added the following in my installSVC file in the section you mentioned
    set JAVA_VM=-server
    set MEM_ARGS==-Xms1024m -Xmx1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=2048m -XX:-UseSSE42Intrinsics
    But it is still not working, I am getting the same error but now it says

    one of the things I didn't mention though was that when I create the service, I run the installAdmServer_Service.cmd file as "Run as Administrator", only then the service gets installed. Can this be related to the fact that this windows service needs to be run under admin account? or Run as Administrator? I am guessing because I tried various heap sizes and also edited my setDomainEnv.cmd and commEnv.cmd file to use 1024 as heap size it but still didn't work and it is failing may be while loading the class? If that is the case then how to run this services as administrator? Am I missing anything else?
    Thanks,

  • Sort Global Address List by Last Name in Exchange (SBS 2011)

    Hello
    We Use SBS 2011 and outlook for interoffice mailing.
    In our Company People Know each other by their Last Names. But in Outlook in Global Address List names are sorted by First Name alphabetically. I want, for example, when people type “C” in search box of

  • My bookmarks will not "sort" on one list, instead they make a short list right before the main list, so how do I get them to all go into the same list?

    When I put my bookmarks in "Bookmarks Menu", and sort them by "name", there is a short list of alphabetized names, then the main list of alphabetized names. They are all in the "Bookmarks Menu" file, but won't merge, for some reason. It is as if they were in a separate file, but they aren't. I might be able to move them manually, by dragging them, but that is a major inconvenience. I usually rename the individual sites, so I can remember them, but that seems to make no difference, as all the main list will alphabetize with no problem....

    Thanks for the response, cor-el....Seems like I've seen your name and help on the Secunia forum, maybe? And it does seem like I have a separator, but that is not the case. After opening the manager, and all bookmarks, the "Bookmarks Menu", by double clicking, shows 4 separators, and the fourth section has two alphabetized lists, (without a separators) The first list is about thirty, and the second list of all the rest, 100+. I've looked all through the two referrals you mention, and nothing fits. I just downloaded the "SortPlaces" add-on and will see if that works out just to get around the "short list" that tends to throw me off in looking up bookmarks in the main (longer list). Thanks for your suggestions, I will let you know how it works out, but tonite I am ready for the sack....manana..
    PS. I am including a screenshot that shows how it is organized, with the short list on the top, and the start of the "A's" on the longer list....(couldn't get any more on the page for the screenshot)

  • Sorting a Linked list.

    Hi, I'm not much good at the coding and require some help, i looked through past posts and haven't found much help.
    public class Queue2
    private node start,last;
    private static class node
    private int nPriority;
    private String todo;
    private node link;
    public Queue2()
    start = null; last = null;
    public void add(int key, String todo)
    node temp = new node();
    temp.nPriority = key;
    temp.todo = todo;
    temp.link = null;
    if (start != null)
    last.link = temp;
    last = temp;
    else
    start = temp;
    last = temp;
    public int remove()
    if (last != start)
    int x = start.nPriority;
    start = start.link;
    return x;
    else if (start != null)
    int x = start.nPriority;
    start=null; last =null;
    return x;
    else return -1;
    public void print()
    node curr = start;
    if (curr == null)
    System.out.println("No Tasks");
    else
    node temp = start;
    System.out.println("List of tasks todo :-");
    while (temp !=null)
    System.out.print(temp.nPriority + " : " + temp.todo + "\n");
    temp = temp.link;
    System.out.println();
    Theres my code atm, I guess I need to either alter the add() method to put new objects into the list in order or to add a sort() method.
    I need the list to be output in order of the lowest int in nPriority first.
    Any help will be very much appreciated.

    First of all, you post your code the wring way so it is hard to read. Use tags. (http://forum.java.sun.com/faq.jsp#format)
    Second, I think you lack curly braces in the 'else' in the end.
    Third, as far as I can see your whole logic is very far from the mark. (But that may be just me being unable to grasp the way you try to do it. (Which again may be caused by #1 above)) Here's some rough (pseudo)code for a sorted insert: void sortedInsert(Node newNode) {
        //special case, insert in beginning:
        if (newNode.pri < list.first.pri) {
            newNode.next = list.first;
            list.first = newNode;
        else {
            Node previous = null;
            Node current = list.first;
            while (current.next != null) {
                previous = current;
                current = current.next;
                if (newNode.pri < current.pri) {
                    //insert before current
                    previous.next = newNode;
                    newNode.next = current;
                    return;
            //other special case: Insert at the end
            current.next = newNode;
