MV refresh failure...Request for guidance.!!!

Guys,
I've got to find that an MV Refresh that is supposed to happen last night via an automated script has failed with the error below:
ORA-12008: error in materialized view refresh path
ORA-08103: object no longer exists
As a workaround, I have manually refreshed the MV, and it worked fine. Could somone shed thoughts on what could've lead to the failure? It has been working all along, the objects referenced in the MV are owned by the schema from where refresh is done.
Thanks!!!!
-Bhagat

Can you check the dependencies of the MV. Check whether all the dependent object used within the MV definitions exist in valid state. If any db link is there, check its working fine.
Make sure the access privelegs are fine for all the objects.

never tried to_char(some_date,'dd.mm.yyyy hh24:mi:sssss') and I don't have a database at hand to verify it
    looking at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/sql_elements004.htm#i34924 I see
    - SS Second (0-59).
    - SSSSS Seconds past midnight (0-86399).
anyway to_char(sales_date,'dd-mon-yyyy HH24:MI:SSSSS') is not the same as sales_date
you would get a single row as a result if it was

You mean timestamp as data type ? Run
select distinct to_char(sales_date,'dd-mon-yyyy HH24:MI:SS.FF') as month
      from fads
    where trunc(sales_date)= '15-JUN-2009'

  • Russian characterset insert fails..Request for guidance.

    Guys,
I've been trying to insert the Russian character string "СТАВРОПОЛЬСКИЙ КР" into my database object-column defined as VARCHAR (25) -using GUI.
The insert is failing, it doesn't give information about the cause of the failure though.
Could somone guide me...Could it be becaz of the lenght of the string exceeding 25 characters?
Is there a way that I can get the lenght of the string. Please note, it's Russian character string.
    Thank you All!!!
    -Bhagat

Russian characters will be displayed as inverted questions "¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿" in toad.
So the query won't help determining the lenght of the string.

    Hello b.krushel,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities
Any number of things could cause this issue, so I would recommend this article named iCloud: Troubleshooting iCloud Calendar found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3999.
    These sections in particular:
    General Troubleshooting
Make sure there are no current issues listed on the System Status that affect iCloud Calendar. The System Status is located on the iCloud Support webpage.
Make sure you have fully enabled iCloud Calendar for the client you are using (for more setup and troubleshooting information on iOS, OS X, Windows and iCloud.com, see the additional details below).
Check to see if the issue you are seeing is covered in iCloud Help. To search iCloud Help, visit help.apple.com/icloud.
Check your settings and preferences as something may not be set up correctly. For example, having incorrect date and time settings can cause issues which are easily resolved by entering the appropriate settings.
Troubleshooting Calendar on OS X Mountain Lion (iCal on OS X Lion)Note: For instructions on setting up iCloud Calendar with Calendar or iCal on your Mac, see iCloud Setup. If you are having trouble with Calendar or iCal on a Mac and you are using iCloud Calendar, try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved:
Make sure you are using OS X Lion v10.7.2 or later. Click here for help verifying the version of OS X you are using.
Make sure your computer is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com and iCloud.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in iCal. Click here for more information about troubleshooting your Internet connection.
Verify that your iCloud member name is entered into the iCloud Preference pane in System Preferences. See iCloud Setup for more information about setting up iCloud on a Mac.
Make sure you enter and update calendar information in the iCloud section of Calendar or iCal. Only calendars and events in the iCloud section of the Calendar or iCal Calendar list will be pushed to iCloud. Both Calendar and iCal for the Mac support the display of and interaction with multiple accounts and datastores, for example, iCloud, On My Mac, Exchange, Google, and so on. This makes it easy to create or modify events or calendars in a section of  Calendar or iCal that may not be updating iCloud. Learn more about moving local calendars to iCloud.
In some cases, you may find that you have data duplicated in both the local On My Mac and the iCloud sections of Calendar or iCal. Learn more about resolving this issue.
You can make the iCloud calendar your default calendar for all new events. In Calendar on OS X Mountain Lion, choose Calendar > Preferences > General, or in OS X Lion, choose iCal > Preferences > Generaland under the Default Calendar heading, select one of the Calendars under the iCloud heading. Close the Preferences window to save this change.
If recent changes simply don't appear, try forcing Calendar or iCal to refresh by selecting Refresh All from theCalendar menu.
Make sure your account was successfully created in Calendar on your Mac (or iCal). After upgrading to iCloud Calendar, you may need to quit and reopen Calendar (or iCal). To confirm your account is configured correctly in iCal:
    Open Calendar (or iCal).
    Open Calendar (or iCal) Preferences.
Click Accounts. You should see an account with your iCloud member name entered.
Turn iCloud Calendars off and back on
    Quit Calendar (or iCal).
Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences > iCloud.
Remove the checkmark in the checkbox next to Calendars.
Close System Preferences and wait about a minute.
Open System Preferences and choose iCloud.
Replace the checkmark next to Calendars.
    Close System Preferences.
Open Calendar (or iCal) and test to see if the issue has been resolved.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it does reinitialize your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
    Take care,
    Sterling

    Hi Pooja,
For getting the response back from the user selection , please get the return code too. Before that instead of directly using the table crhd structure.. please do create a type declaration of that table , make sure that the field that you wanted to get using search help be specified at last of declaration type like this
    TYPES: BEGIN OF ty,
       OBJTY TYPE CR_OBJTY,
            ARBPL TYPE ARBPL,
    END OF ty.
this is because the return parameter t_rtn will holds the last value of type which been selected by user.

A belated thanks for your reply.
Our environment doesn't have NPS accounting configured so that was easy to rule out.
The mid-day drop outs have stopped after I added "set protocols dot1x authenticator no-mac-table-binding" to our Juniper switches (which prevents mac address aging from clearing the active dot1x client session).
I believe the above error message occurs because the RADIUS session ID is rejected / ignored because of some quirks in the RADIUS standard.  At the start of a dot1x authentication request a RADIUS session ID is created.  For whatever reason the
RADIUS/NAP server stops responding and the Juniper switch fails over to the backup RADIUS/NAP server configured.  The session ID is kept (per RADIUS standard) but the backup RADIUS/NAP server doesn't know about the session, so this event: "Network
Policy Server discarded the request for a user." occurs.
It would be nice to see a clearer error message "Invalid RADIUS session" or similar.
There is a Microsoft guide on how to set up RADIUS/NAP servers in a highly available configuration - something to do with RADIUS proxy servers.
It would be even nicer to see some kind of RADIUS session synchronisation between NAP servers... if it doesn't already exist?
I am having the same exact issue you posted on here except I have Extreme Network switches. Some of my computers, various hardware, will randomly not authenticate during re-authentication. The switch says that it failed to contact the NPS server so then it
switches to my backup server. The client has a random time on how long it waits to authenticate so sometimes I end up having the disable/re-enable the port they are connected to so that the session is started again. I see that you basically removed the option
to force clients to re-authenticate Any downfall disabling that?. Any idea why the NPS server is no longer responding? Are you using Windows Server 2012?

  • Legitimate request for a free upgrade to Windows 7

I am new to this forum and am incensed by the attitude of Toshiba customer support staff towards my legitimate request for a free upgrade to windows 7, below is an email I have written to them which I would appreciate your comments on:
    To whom it may concern.
I am writing to express my displeasure with your response to my legitimate request for a free upgrade to Windows 7 seeing that I have recently spent over 1000 of one of your products.
After having multiple issues with the Vista operating system, I phoned your customer support on the 4th of December and had a conversation with a male employee who was unable to satisfy me as to why my machine was not entitled to a free upgrade to Windows 7 as mentioned on your web site.
He offered to pass me up to a supervisor which I accepted and was connected to a female member of staff who tried to explain that my model was not included in the "promotion". I could see no sense in her explanation, in context to the facts that my machine was of the same age and family as those been offered the "promotion"
This employee was again unable to answer or understand my question and said she was not technically minded so I asked her to put me through to her supervisor and after 10 minutes holding on the line I got to speak to Alistair Cook.
Mr Cook explained the "promotion" to me but could not explain why my model was excluded so he said he would call me back when he found out why. This he did some short time after and reiterated his earlier account with no further clarity. He said he would do more research on the matter and email me the findings.
This contacting your customer support office took a total of 48 minutes on the phone.
Vista is to all intents a failure, a fact you accept by your offer of free upgrades to your recent customers, so why discriminate against some consumers and not others.
I am a long time user of Toshiba computers, this Qosmio is my third laptop and I have always been satisfied with the customer support, not that it was greatly needed. So I again ask that you do the right thing and provide me with my principled entitlement.
    Yours sincerely.

    Hi mate
    Very interesting point of view.
But fact is that not all Toshiba notebooks are verified for a Win 7 upgrade.
    Why???
Well I have checked the Toshiba European page
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com -> Windows Upgrade 7
and there I could find a FAQ list.
One of the FAQ provides this info:
_What requirements do I need to satisfy to take part in the Upgrade Program?_
+To take part in the Upgrade Program, you must satisfy the following three criteria:+
+1. You purchased your Toshiba computer between 26th June 2009 and 31st January 2010.+
+2. Your Toshiba computer is one of the model series to be verified on the Toshiba page.+
+3. Along with your Toshiba computer you purchased a Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Business, or Windows Vista Ultimate operating system.+
It looks like several criteria must be satisfied in order to participate in Win 7 upgrade program.

  • Multiple HTTP GET requests for individual classes

    Hello,
I have a Java plug-in deployed under tomcat 6. JRE version is 1.6.0_16. All the required jars are deployed packed (pack.gz) and the applet tag has 'java_arguments' parameter defined as:
    <param name='java_arguments' value='-Xms256m -Xmx512m -Djnlp.packEnabled=true -Djnlp.versionEnabled=true' />
All the jars get loaded nicely as I see in the Tomcat access log:
    127.0.0.1 - - [03/Mar/2010:17:24:04 +0000] "GET /testapplet/lib/log4j-1.2.13.jar.pack.gz?version-id=1.2.13 HTTP/1.1" 200 0
but immediately I see a bunch of GET requests for the individual classes in the same log4j jar:
    127.0.0.1 - - [03/Mar/2010:17:24:06 +0000] "GET /testapplet/lib/org/apache/log4j/Logger.class HTTP/1.1" 404 0
    127.0.0.1 - - [03/Mar/2010:17:24:06 +0000] "GET /testapplet/lib/org/apache/log4j/Category.class HTTP/1.1" 404 0
    127.0.0.1 - - [03/Mar/2010:17:24:06 +0000] "GET /testapplet/lib/org/apache/log4j/spi/AppenderAttachable.class HTTP/1.1" 404 0
As you can see each of these GET requests are returned a Http error code 404. While testing locally, this isn't adding any delays, but over a real deployment it's bound to be slow down the applet loading while the server is responding to each of these class requests.
Subsequently, the application itself runs without any issues and these bogus class requests failures have no effect (thankfully) on the functionality.
Any one seen this behavior? Appreciate any thoughts or help.
    Regards,
    Parag

  • Request for factory rom for Yoga 10"

    Hello,
I know, that on russian lenovo forums there is factory rom available for download, but it is their regional version.
I'd like to request for such factory rom in european or international version.
This way I would be able to refresh or fix my tablet with original firmware if I encounter problems and if simple device reset (which is build into the system) would not be sufficient. Then I could save time on warranty service.

You would be out of your mind to try installing firmware from Russia. Who knows what is in it.

  • AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR

    Experts,
I have two selection parameters on Selection_Screen as subscreen, as below:
    Custom Selection Screen 1010
selection-screen begin of screen 1010 as subscreen.
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK b2 WITH FRAME TITLE text-001.
    SELECT-OPTIONS :
         s_matnr FOR mara-matnr  MODIF ID sc1,     "Material
         s_grid FOR mara-J_3APGNR MODIF ID sc6,    "Grid values   "pkb001
    SELECTION-SCREEN END OF BLOCK b2.
    selection-screen end of screen 1010.
Now i want to populate  s_grid (Grid value) based on the values enterd for s_matnr  (material ).
    but when i want use:
    AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR s_grid,
I'm not getting the values eneterd in s_matnr..
is the problem beacuse of subcreen?
    Answers are highly appriciated.
    Thanks.

Yes that is correct, Once I hit enter key, then only the value for s_matnr populates, but it is not a good Idea to expect the user to hit the enter key. is there any way i can imitate/simulate "enter" key in the program?
also I'm using the FM:'DYNP_VALUES_READ'  but that is also not getting me any value..
below is the code I'm using,
    FORM sub_get_grid .
      Refresh: t_mara.

data: l_dyname type standard table of dynpread,
      w_dynpread type dynpread.
      clear w_dynpread.

      append w_dynpread to l_dyname.
      clear w_dynpread.

      describe table t_mara LINES lin.
      If lin > 1.
        Refresh: s_matnr.

  • Request for compression is scheduled

When I go to my InfoCube "manage" button and scroll down to the initial requests I see a clock and when I put my mouse over it I see: "request for compression is scheduled".
The cube is large, say 86M records and many, many requests.
I'm looking at SM37 and I can't see those jobs.
    So I looking for:
    a) what is the name of that job scheduled so I can see it and watch its progress?
    b) if I see the job running can I / should I  stop it?
    Thanks for your help.
    Mike

    Arun,
And if it IS greyed out? what does that mean?
Additionally, I went to the Request tab and my requests that were compressed were check marked, then I went the Collape tab and pressed refresh and then on the Request tab my requests were no longer check marked? Is that normal? I want to see them checked.

  • Self service - request for groups - OIM

I would like to allow end-user to request groups from end-user interface?
    I would appreciate your guidance...
Out of the box only resources are available for request.

I can suggest you one approach to meet this req.
    1. Create a scheduler which will fetch all groups(findGroups()) in OIM and write the result to Lookup, say Lookup.OIM.Groups
    2. Create a Process Form with a a field as Groups and make the field type as lookup type and attach the lookup Lookup.OIM.Groups to this field.
    3. Create an adapter which would use addMemberUser() in groupOperations and adds the user to specific group.
    4. Create a RO, say "Provision Groups" then create a Process Def and attach the above created adapter to process task, say "Add User to OIM group".
Have an approval process in place which allows users to select a group and request for approval. Once approval completes the task "Add User to OIM group" gets called which adds the user to specific group.
It would be better if you show Groups field in child form which allows user to add more groups.
This is one approach which i can think of as of now.
    lets see what experts say..

Number of bits in a four byte converter block address
reserved for the logical devive number which identifies
the data volumes. The rest of the four byte block
address is used for the device offset.
The greater the VOLUMENO_BIT_COUNT the more data volume
    could be managed.
Note that this reduces the capacity of usable data volumes!
This value is not changeable within the lifetime of the data
    base without making a recovery.
Example: If the PAGESIZE is set to 8 KB and VOLUMENO_BIT_COUNT
is set to the default value of 8 than the data base is able
to manage as far as 256 data volumes, whereby the maximum
capacity of one data volume is 128 GB.
If the VOLUMENO_BIT_COUNT is set to 6 the data base is able
to manage up to 64 data volumes, whereby the capacity of
one data volume is 512 GB.
The lower and upper limits are:
         6 <= VOLUMENO_BIT_COUNT <= 12
    dbmcli.exe on Bitexco : GCS>param_directput DATA_VOLUME_SIZE_0001 16000000
    OK
    dbmcli.exe on Bitexco : GCS>param_checkall
    OK
