MX440SE-T enabling 2x AGP traffic?

I have just installed the MSI MX440SE-T graphics card on my MSI MS6195 K7Pro motherboard, cpu AMD Athlon 700, o/s Win 98SE.
Everything is working.  But I noticed in Display Properties > MSI Info that "AGP Information" has not got any AGP data transfer enabled.  The motherboard supports 2x and the graphics card supports up to 4x.   How do I enable 2x traffic to make full use of the card? Or am I missing something?  I downloaded the Powerstrip utility recommended by nVidia which will enable the data traffic to 2x but it doesn't stay after shut-down?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for advice.   Therein lies another problem!  My bios seems to have decided it wants a password.  I never set one up.  Not that I can remember anyway.  I recently ran a Belarc utility that checked my system so maybe that tweaked something.  You don't have any advice on how to get around this?
Anyway, thanks for your help.

  • Enabling 8x AGP on 655-LS

I just purchased a geforce ti4200 w/128mb of ram and 8x agp.  The problem is that I can not get AGP 8x enabled, the agp utility that came with my 655-LS mobo says that my mainboard and video card capabilities are only 4x.  Both my bios and SiS drivers are updated.  The only conflict I can see is something to do with powerstrip, I did have a geforce 3 installed previously, is it possible that powerstrip could be forcing my agp rate to run at only 4x? Or is there a way in the bios to change the AGP rate, the only setting that I could find in the bios regarding AGP was the aperture, and that is set at 64.  Thx
    Chris

Update you SIS AGP GART Accelerator to the lastest version and do a clean un-installation of the old VGA drivers and freshly re-install the new 44.23 drivers from nvidia for your Ti-4200 8x card.
For AGP Aperture size, you can access BIOS> Advanced Chipset Feature> AGP Aperture Size> Set to the value you wish to. Preferably to half the size of system memory.

  • AGP traffic enable not checkable?

    I just installed GF 4800 ti on a 4x motherboard (Asus P3C2000).
I installed the MSI 4107 driver that came with it.
On the MSI Information panel I cant check any of the boxes. Either on the Status or AGP information area. They flash a bit but dont change their setting.
    Current settings showing:
    Status -  all set on
    AGP - all set off
    1. Is this normal?
    2. Shouldnt I need to have those AGP boxes checked?
    3. There is no indication in the manual what SBA Enable is.
    4. I set the monitor to 1280x1024 70hz and the 66mhz box in Status is still checked even after a cold boot.
I have not altered any other settings from default

  • Is there any way to get ipad 2 mirroring (beta ios 5) to work with unicast?  The school won't enable multicast for traffic concerns on a many AP wireless network.

I have the iPad 2 mirroring working in my classroom with my own personal wireless router and an apple tv 2.  We would like to deploy several iPad 2's to teachers for instruction, all using mirroring.  The school district wireless network available throughout the complex has many access points and has multicasting turned off.  They are afraid to enable it because of traffic concerns - many wireless devices all sending everything to every AP on the district wireless network.  Is there any way to come up with an acceptable solution (unicasting?) that will only route traffic to the devices connected to a single access point on the network (the same one the ipad 2 and apple tv are connected to) without sending it to all the access points on the district wireless network?  Short of every teacher having an independent wireless router in each of their rooms (which could still potentially interfere with the district wireless), I don't currently have a solution.   I've heard the network guys through around terms like multicasting, unicasting, igmp, etc.  I don't want to choke down the district wireless either, but there must be a solution to this.  I could easily see 40 teachers in the complex all using iPad 2s mirroring through apple tvs attached to projectors all going on at the same time, but there might only be 3 or 4 on each access point.

  • Enabling WCCP and traffic flowing, increased CPU 10% with one site only.

    Hello,
We are deploying a WAAS solution for a customer Datacenter and we are doing a pilot on WCCP redirection towards few 7341 WAAS boxes on the DC.
The redirecting platform is a couple of 7200's running 12.4(13) version - we are using WCCP GRE negotiated return and ingress with hash assignment.
for the moment we enabled one remote site  with an inline WAE and are optimizing traffic across that connection. All remote sites except this one are being filtered out by the WCCP redirect-list.
At this moment we are a bit concerned due to two things:
    - when traffic started being redirected on the 7200, (about 1,5 Mbps in/out for the pilot site= allowed traffic on redirected list), we saw a 10% CPU increase on the 7200. Having in mind that the redirecting list is denying a lot of traffic, I'm considering it to also add CPU% overhead to the processor usage.
The first question is - Does anybody have any experience on how can we expect the CPU to grow, while adding more sites? We can grow up to (theoretically) 1Gbps of traffic coming from remote sites.
The second question is - we have 4 x 7341 on the DC, but we are seeing quite uneven load distribution on them. We are using service 61 in on the LAN interface and service 62 in on WAN interface. From what I can gather the hashing across boxes is then made based on the LAN side IP address (that is the servers).
Would it be recommended to swap both services between interfaces (61 on WAN and 62 on LAN) so that the hashing is based on the WAN side IP address? what would be the downside of this?
I saw that from version 12.4(20)T on, software based platforms support L2 redirect and mask assignment. Would that be a recommended upgrade to make in order to easen up the CPU load on the 7200? Does anybody have any experience on WCCP with this particular config on 7200?
    Thanks for any input!
    Gustavo Novais

An alternative to using the "Lookup" functionality in Network Utility is to run "nslookup" from the command prompt (or the shell prompt) using Terminal. Both the Network Utility and Terminal are found in the Utilities folder under Application.
    While in Terminal, enter this:
    nslookup statcounter.com
It should return something like this:
Note: nslookup is deprecated and may be removed from future releases.
Consider using the `dig' or `host' programs instead. Run nslookup with
the `-sil[ent]' option to prevent this message from appearing.
    Server: 68.87.69.146
    Address: 68.87.69.146#53
    Non-authoritative answer:
    Name: statcounter.com
    Address: 66.98.186.36
    Name: statcounter.com
    Address: 66.98.134.100
The first portion of the output indicates the IP address of your DNS. The second portion indicates the IP address of statcounter.com.
You can also run "dig statcounter" while in Terminal. This provides the same output as the "Lookup" functionality in Network Utility.
If you are not getting the IP address of statcounter.com from running the nslookup command, the most likely reason is your DNS (or your ISP's DNS) does not contain information about statcounter.com.
    Hope this helps.

OK im running an MSI 865PE Neo motherboard got my new grafics card and put it in, in the MSI information tab i can not enable the AGP traffic or set it to 1X 2X 4X or 8X and i noticed this alot in D3 :( can anyone help me

You need to install drivers for the motherboard before you can set the AGP speed.
You can get the motheboard drivers:
    here from Intel
    or
    here from MSI

  • MX440-T8X AGP Enable?

When I click on the MSI information tab in the display properties, the AGP Traffic Enable check box is unchecked.  In fact all the check boxes in the AGP information area are unchecked.  How do I enable AGP support for the Video card?

You need to install the chipset drivers for your motherboard, and then should reinstall the VGA drivers.

  • Problem enabling Agp 8x and Fast write on a Msi Neo 2 Platinium mobo.

I bought, about 2-3 months ago this motherboard and I installed in it a Sapphire Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition. The problem is that I can't set, in my BIOS, the AGP to 3.0 (4X/8X) because the PC , then, seems to act weirdly and give me all kind of problems. When I go in Start --> Run --> and I enter "dxdiag", all of my direct 3D options are disabled and I cannot set them to "ON" as the "Enable" button seems to be grayed out.
The only way I can run the PC stable with the video card and the motherboard is to set the AGP to 4X. That way, all of my Direct 3D options will be back.
When I set it to 8X, sometimes the computer will freeze, the screen may turn black randomly and doesn't re-open. In my games, the levels (like CoD or Unreal Tournament, All the BF Games) won't load, it simply will freeze on the load screen.
Is this problem due to some incompatibility between the Mobo and the graphic card???
Is there a way I can keep the PC stable when enabling the AGP 3.0 (4x/8x)?
    Thanks.

I would run drivercleaner pro and reinstall all your drivers.
The problem start from Bios.He can not anaible AGP 8x, so this doesn't have to do with drivers.

2.in the nview tab, GeForce FX 5700, it says under adapter information that my "bus" is AGP (pci mode). I DONT WANT IT IN PCI MODE, but I cant seem to change it, not -one- option in BIOS lets me change ANYTHING about my AGP, and Ive spent a long time looking elsewhere.

My concern was that he couldn't select an AGP setting in the driver at all (according to his post) - this suggests that the GART driver is not loaded properly.
This is the MSI's drivers Information tab from how I understood his initial post, those are static check boxes and they are misleading, MSI made a boo boo just like calling the DOT monitor "Winsys.exe" that shows up in some anti trojan software as a worm...LOL, after all it is called an information tab.
Now the info pages such as "AGP settings"  in the actual Detonator/Forceware control panel that are enabled with coolbits installed cannot be changed in a 8x board VGA combination, I've even tried entering the BIOS and turning it down to 4X, the system comes up showig 4x and then 1X in the OS column...freakin weird.
Now this bit about showing 4X in the OS column is because the motherboard is native 4x or the card is, and I've seen it on Intel boards too, including VIA and nforce. For instance check this out http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=42361&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
I'm with you on the BIOS subject..I wasn't scolding you or anything Sometimes things can be misinterpreted, asn sorry if I came off that way.
Oh BTW in all this I have reloaded the GART's and even pulled all chipset drivers and started from scratch to see if there was any difference. Give that link a read anyhoo
Theres more but I am really tired now.

  • MSI TI4200 AGP (PCI mode)

I recently installed a MSI G4 TI4200 128MB AGP8X.  It seems to be running fine, however, I noticed that in Display Properties, Adapter Information, it says the bus is "AGP (PCI Mode)". Also, under the Adapter "General" tab, it says the location is "PCI bus 1". This sounds like it is not fully using the AGP bus, correct?  The motherboard is a ECS K7S5A, so I realize it would only be 4x AGP.  Any thoughts?

    Hi,
You can only PING / ICMP an ASA interface from behind that same interface.
So users behind "inside" can PING / ICMP the "inside" interface IP address and users behind "outside" can PING / ICMP the "outside" interface IP address. Users can't PING / ICMP the remote interface from their perspective. The only exception is when users are coming through VPN connection and you use the "management-access " command. But this doesnt apply to your situation.
You seem to be simulating an ICMP send from behind "inside" to the "outside" interface IP address if what you say is true.
So attempt the Packet Tracer using some remote network IP address in the 10.15.60.0/24 network.
You dont seem to have "nat-control" enabled so all traffic should be able to pass through the ASA without translation. So NAT shouldnt be a problem.
You can also add the following configurations
    policy-map global_policy
    class inspection_default
      inspect icmp
      inspect icmp error

  • Can't get traffic flowing between VLANs on an ASA 5505

I've got an ASA 5505 with the Security Plus license that I'm trying to configure.
So far I have setup NATing on two VLANs, one called 16jda (VLAN 16 - 10.16.2.0/24) and one called 16jdc (VLAN 11 - 10.105.11.0/24).
From each subnet I am able to connect to the internet, but I need these subnets to also be able to talk to each other.
I have each VLAN interface at security level 100 and enabled "same-security-traffic permit inter-interface", and I have setup static NAT mappings between the two subnets, but they still can't communicate.
When I try to ping there is no reply and the only log message is:

I know your problem and I know exactly how to solve it too. You could refer to https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3714412#3714412 for further details.
Moving forward, this is what you’re gonna paste in your FW. This should work like a charm.
    access-list from-inside permit ip 10.105.1.0 255.255.255.0 10.105.11.0 255.255.255.0
    access-list from-inside permit ip 10.105.1.0 255.255.255.0 10.16.2.0 255.255.255.0
    access-list from-16jda permit ip 10.16.2.0 255.255.255.0 10.105.1.0 255.255.255.0
    access-list from-16jda permit ip 10.16.2.0 255.255.255.0 10.105.11.0 255.255.255.0
    access-list from-16jdc permit ip 10.105.11.0 255.255.255.0 10.105.1.0 255.255.255.0
    access-list from-16jdc permit ip 10.105.11.0 255.255.255.0 10.16.2.0 255.255.255.0
    nat (inside) 0 access-list from-inside
    nat (16jdc) 0 access-list from-16jdc
    nat (16jda) 0 access-list from-16jda
    clear xlate
    nat (inside) 1 10.105.1.0 255.255.255.0 <-- You forgot this!!
Basically, when inside wants to communicate with the other interfaces bearing security-level 100 e.g. 16jda or 16jdc or vice-versa, you’ll need to enable “NAT Exemption” i.e. nat (nameif) 0 . I know you have already enabled the same-security permit inter-interface command, but this command becomes useless once you’ve enable dynamic nat on one of those interfaces. It’s as if the same-security traffic command wasn't even entered in the first place. Hence, the Cisco ASA is behaving as expected as per Cisco's documentation. • SSL port is enabled, so why can't I connect through HTTPS?

    Hi,
I'm using Weblogic 9.2.2, Solaris 9 with Java 1.5 We have our created our managed server within a cluster, and although we have enabled the SSL listen port ...
    http://screencast.com/t/t5UN6Exwp
when I try connecting to our app through HTTPS in a web browser, I get a "Failed to Connect" error. Specifically in Firefox it says http://screencast.com/t/TGl0FIuQ. However, i can connect to our app fine through the HTTP port. How should I start troubleshooting this problem or what other info should I provide here?
    Thanks, - Dave

I tried everyone's suggestions and wanted to report back the results. Running
netstat -na | grep LIST | grep 7032produced no data. I did find a reference to the SSL port (7032) in my server log file, but didn't see any errors associated with it (I listed the working HTTP port first to compare) ...

  • MS-6330 AGP Fastwrites

    :-D)Hello everyone-
I am having trouble enabling my AGP fastwrites on my K7T Turbo v3.0 (MS-6330).  I recently installed a Radeon 9600 Pro and it detects that fastwrites are supported but not enabled.  Same thing with Sisoft Sandra, supported:yes, enabled:no.  Does anyone know how to fix this minor inconvenience?  Any thoughts are appreciated.  My BIOS and chipset drivers are the latest available versions.
    Thanks!

    appa69,
did you have any other problems with thye k7t turbo/radeon 9600 pro setup?
I wish I only had your fast write problem.  My card is recognized using Pstrip as well as ATI control panel but I can't get accelerated graphics rendering.  Games I've tried that have a 3d config setup, don't see it.  They want a DX8.1 card.
Do you think that upgrading the bios would make the difference?
