My 2 year old has deleted my 'apps store' icon and I cannot figure out how to get it back? Doesn't seem to be available in the on-line apps store, ironically enough

He dragged the icon out of the dock at the bottom and disappeared. That icon is merely a "shortcut" that opens the application when you click on it.
You still have the app. Open your applications folder and look for the App Store app icon. Click and hold down on the App Store icon and drag the icon down into the dock to replace it. That puts the shortcut back into the dock.

Did you enable Siri in settings?
Settings > General > Siri > ON
If Siri is off, all you get when pressing the home button for 1 second is the old Voice Control.

I updated to ios5 and now cannot figure out how to get all my purchased apps back on the ipad

i did a sync, backup and then upgraded to ios5 on my ipad. Now my ipad is empty of all appps purchased. How do I get the apps from my itunes account back to the ipad?

Are they in your iTunes library on the computer? If so, sync with iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Select your iPad from the left side under "Devices". Click on the apps tab in the iTunes window on the right. Select the Sync Apps heading. Select all of the apps in the list and then click on Sync or Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
You can also download the apps again for free in the app store via the purchased tab or download them again in iTunes on your computer and then sync the a[[s to the iPad. You have to use the same Apple ID that you bought the apps with in order to download them again for free.

Hi there, my old mac book recently died and I opted to buy a new macbook pro, instead of pouring lots of money into the old computer. I was able to get my hard drive out, and I bought a 2.5" Sata Nootbook Drive Upgrade Kit. I have also installed superduper!....but I can't really figure out how to get everything to work. I just want to be able to take some of my files from my hard drive, not everything...
Any suggestions?

I don't know what a "2.5" Sata Nootbook Drive Upgrade Kit" is but if you have a internal drive you need to connect all you needed was a $20 IDE/SATA to USB adapter
You don't need Superduper, that's software designed to clone a entire Mac's boot drive to a external drive for bootable backup purposes using the same machine/make/model.
Since the new Mac is different than the old one you can't clone (well you could but it will break the machine) the old drive to the new one.
However you can use the adapter above and software Apple provides in the Utilities folder on the NEW MAC, called Migration Assistant to transfer your User to the new machine.
However this might not be the best course of action as it can transfer unwanted data and cause problems in the Library, old programs that won't run on 10.7, etc.
You can simply create the same named user on the machine (System Preferences > Accounts) log into it and then connect the external drive with the adapter and copy the contents of your users folders over and place into the same.
It's always good to have another Admin level user account on the machine in case the primary one has a User based issue and you need to log into the other and grab files. So if either manually or via using Migration Assistant you wind up with two user accounts on the machine, it's really not that big of a deal.

The icon for Norton Identity Safe has disappeared and I can't figure out how to get it back on my toolbar.

I use Norton which has a feature called "Identity Safe." In the old version of Mozilla, the icon for this feature was available on my toolbar. Now that I have converted to the latest version of Firefox, the icon has disappeared and I cannot figure out to get it back. I can still activate the Identity Safe by opening Norton, but I want to restore the shortcut.

Symantec have made an update for their add-ons to work in Firefox 4, but they only listed them as compatible with Firefox 4.0, they need to update them to let them work in Firefox 4.0.1, they have indicated this will be happening soon. As the App Store is pre-installed on the device, it can't really be removed. I'm thinking the icon is either stashed on another folder, or it's been turned off. If it's in a folder the only way to really find it is to look through all folders on your device for the icon. To check if it's turned off, go to Settings > General > Restrictions (it will ask for a passcode, if your children went into restrictions they created this passcode if it didn't already exist) and make sure "Installing Apps" didn't get turned off (if it's turned off the icon disappears from the Home screens).

I am trying to figure out how to change my backup so that I can get my old contacts off of my iTunes. I got the iPhone 4S today and when I synced the phone, it didn't sync the contacts. I got all of my apps, but no contacts. How can I change the backup? How can I find out which backup is the right one?

I tried to sync Outlook 2011 with iCloud and it deleted all my calendar entries and now are only on iCloud and I cant figure out how to export them back to Outlook. Can anyone help me?

I signed up for iCloud today and tred to sync my Outlook 2011 calendar with it. At first, all the entries were completely deleted from Outlook but were still in iCal. Then I attempted to export my iCal events, turn off iCloud for calendars and import the iCal info to Outlook. But since it was only synced through iCloud nothing imported... now all my Outlook info is only on iCloud.. can anyone help me get it back on Outlook?

All sorted! dont suppose you know how to fix another problem I have??? for weeks now, since updating to ios5 I think, for some reason every time I have tried to log onto app store it says CANNOT CONNECT TO ITUNES STORE. It's nothing to do with my computer, and I've been to the Geniius bar but they couldnt help and nothing I seem to do lets me update my Apps and even worse, I cant even buy any more. Any suggestions?
