My 2nd generation iPod touch is disabled.

I have tried to restore it to factory settings, but it won't restore. Even from recovery mode. It's like it's frozen in the disabled mode. My daughter set a new passcode and promptly forgot it. Now we are stuck!

If you have resently backed up your ipod with iCloud you are in luck!! you can restore your ipod and then with you go back to defalt settings when your setting the ipod up it will ask for your icloud information and that will load EVERYTHING back onto the ipod:) *note to you, keep your ipod away for kids haha* but if you havent backed it uplatey you will need to contact a Apple tech to secdule a phone call and they will walk you through all the steps. I just traded my old 2nd generation ipod touch with apple for one with a new battery. I sync it with itynes and am told to upgrade the IOS to 4.2. When I try, i get this message: The iPod "Bob's iPod" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (-1).
I have also tried to update the software using my older MacBook with an earlier version of iTunes and get the same message. I even complained to Apple and they sent me another replacement and I still get the message. I am told that you can upgrade the 2nd generation to 4.2 but it doesn't work for me. I have disabled my antivirus software and everything else I can think of. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I may be doing wrong?

I moved to iCloud. But since then, when i load mail in my 2nd generation iPod touch, it gives a lot of errors. ( For example 'wrong password' ) . It still works , but i get too much errors when i'm loading mail, and it doesnt pushes my mail automatically anymore.

The iPod Touch still works, so what's your problem with it? It still works with older apps, it still does what it's intended to do.

You neglected to mention that the Numark iM1 is a piece of hardware (a physical box) that plugs into an iPod.
Checking on the Numark website, I suspect they haven't bothered to update their "iPod compatibility" page, since there's no specific reason (as far as I'm aware) why an App that worked with a 2nd gen Touch shouldn't work with a 4th gen model. Is that page where you looked and were then prompted to ask your question?
You might have more success in finding an answer to your question by contatcing the manufacturer (Numark) via their website or checking with a retailer who stocks the iM1. Numark appear to welcome email contact about their products.

iOS5 needs 256MB of Ram to start with, as well as certain features in the CPU that were not available before the iphone 3GS and the iPod touch 3rd gen.

Well you cant download books because the ibook app needs ios 5 and the 2g doesnt support later version of ios. The latest is 4.2.1.
