My 3g 16mb damaged by water now works except connecting to internet. Have no account for it after moving to my 3GS. Can this phone be used again?

I want to sell the phone since every test done shows it to be working after two years of drying out.The only service not working is connecting to the Internet. That i believe is caused by transferring AT&T account to new iPhone. Is there any test of older iPhone to see if it can connect to the Internet?

Amazing to see that the iPhone with the SIM card from my new iPhone worked good. The only problem I had was with AT&T. Somehow they got the idea I had set up a new account and starting charging me for that instead of continuing with my old one. After talking to them, that problem was taken care of.
Another five months passed and I tried to power on the old phone without the SIM card, which I had done successfully before. This time the battery was down to zero and will not take a charge.
Is this the final resting place for the dunked iPhone or is there a way to recharge the battery?
Would appreciate new help. Thanks.

The Apple IDs from @mac.com and @me.com (Older MobileMe and more recent iCloud Names) are also Valid AIM Screen names.
Any other sort of Apple ID is not a Valid AIM Name.
A Google ID that is associated with Google Mail Account (And has "Talk" enable on your Google Settings) can be used in iChat as Jabber Name/ID. (Google Run Jabber server).
Jabber and AIM are different IM Services and it is not easy or straight forward to add Buddies from one Service to the Buddy List of another. (As A Starting point consider it "impossible")
iChat 4 and 5 have links to the registration page of @Mac.com here with a "Get an iChat Account" button in the add (Account) screen (You select @mac.com or MobileMe and then press the Button - Choosing AIM and then pressing the button used to lead to the AIM registration page but AIM moved their page).
Apple IDs can be any valid email (or an @mac.com or iCloud registration)
Therefore you could make a Google ID into an Apple ID.
However this will not be a valid AIM Screen Name the way @mac.com or MobileMe/iCloud ones are.

It should be installed automatically if you install iTunes, but I guess when you installed iTunes you didn't have Firefox. Just reinstall iTunes and it should work OK (your iTunes library will not be affected)

I did try to uninstall and reinstall. It messed up my computer. I had to "RESTORE" from the prior days backup. This was not helpful at all. I'm used to losing all my stuff when I connect to iTunes, that's a whole other issue, but now I'm completely banned from any updates to my phone at all. Geeze.......

I would say that you would want to look into the "Exchange Mode" for GMail. That would allow your iPhone to sync calendars, contacts and email with GMail just fine. Doing the same with your outlook should also then sync those same with your PC using Outlook. I've done teh iPhone side of this, but I since I don't run Lookout for my email client, I'm not sure how that will work on the PC side.

What kind of accounts? Multiple email accounts are supported.
Multiple user accounts are not.
If you are saying you would like to have one set of apps, media, etc
for work and a different set for home, and switch between the 2
depending on network login or location, this is not a feature of iOS.
If this is not what you are asking, please post more details so someone
may offer a solution.

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.
If extensions aren't causing the problem, see below.

Hello, thank you for your prompt answer. I did have an idea that Home sharing might be the answer but could not quite figure out how to do it. I have enabled home sharing in my iTunes account, put in username and password, clicked on creat etc. But the homs sharing icon doew not appear in the left side of iTunes. So I got stuck. I just went through this and it appears that my Focusrite Saffire was the culprit. I connected all the outputs on the focusrite according to the way the jacsk on the back were labeled and then set up the multichannel speaker setup to match. Then I went into STP, created a pink noise clip and panned it around, the LFE, center and rears were not in the right place.
I reconnected the hardware to match the 5.1 pan pot in STP then changed the multichannel speaker setup to match. Everything appears to be correct now but I would have loved to have been able to just assigned the output busses to correct outputs in the saffire.
Next step is to pan that pink noise around with my SPL meter to calibrate the room.

That is the highest you will be able to go with 3g. You need 3gs or 4 to go any higher (multi processors and more memory needed). Version 4.2.1 marks the end of your updates for that device.
