My address bar--in fact, my entire toolbar--has diappeared! I can't enter any new websites, or manage anything on familiar websites...no buttons,no control!

To reiterate, my address bar and my entire toolbar have disappeared. I cannot enter any new websites, and I cannot control anything on the websites that I can enter, because my buttons are gone. The only websites I can access are the ones already located in the easy access windows on the 'New Tab' page. I have nowhere to write a new URL. This effectively renders my Firefox browser nearly useless! This must have been caused by a recent update. I can't imagine any other cause of the problem. I'd appreciate any assistance. I've been using Firefox for years; I'd like to continue doing so. Thanks for your time.

I understand. Close the window, and open a new one. Try the Address Bar. If no go, try Safari from another User Account. I'm curious if the Address Bar works there. If it doesn't, then you'll need to reinstall Safari.
Just in case you need this: Here is guidance from Apple on how to set up the account. You can ignore step 7 in the article.
Also, on the system preference>Accounts panel, click on "log-in" options. There, select "fast user switching". This allows you to go back and forth between user accounts via an icon in your Menu Bar at the top of the computer screen.
Log-on to the new account and start Safari. If the address bar works in the new account, then your problem is specific to your regular user account. Otherwise, similar response means a system-wide problem.

You cannot merge accounts.
You need to sign into the old account on your computer.

I'm sorry you're having issues with your e-mail account on your phone Rusty1112. Let's figure out what's going on. First, please try deleting account/information again and then restart phone. When phone is back on, try adding e-mail account again, and be sure you're entering exactly as you set up, meaning its case-sensitive. If you're still getting same error, please let us know and let us know what e-mail account it is, Yahoo, AOL, MSN, etc.

When I drag and drop an icon from the address bar to the desktop is does creat the shortcut but will not display the website icon, only the firefox icon, how can I display website icons?

When I drag and drop a website icon from the Forefox address bar to the desk top, the short cut is created but the icon that appears is the firefox Icon. I want to disply the icon from the website that the short cut refers to. I have checked all I can think of in my computer to no avail.

You have to assign the favicon yourself to the desktop shortcut (right-click the shortcut: Properties) after you have dragged the link to the desktop.
You can usually find the favicon in Tools >Page Info > Media and save the icon there.
Otherwise use the main domain of the website and add favicon.ico (e.g. mozilla.com/favicon.ico ) to display the favicon in a tab and save that image to a folder.

ATTENTION MOZILLA DEVELOPERS!!!! I have had numerous issues all occuring within 24-48 hours,The latest is location/address bar not working completely! Who has solutions and fixes that actually work???

Windows 7 32bit Firefox 3.6.1.1 .... I really liked Firefox until recently!!!!
I'm not even going to explain all the problems I have had in the last 2 days, but i will tell you i have read so many forums and have done A LOT of fixing, 8 hours worth!! So before someone suggests for me to try a common fix I have done almost all things like. 
Disable extensions 
Disabled/Remove add ons 
Tried all in safe mode 
Deleted files in Firefox Profile 
Renamed files in Firefox Profile 
I have done almost everything except remove Firefox and use a different browser. 
What gets me most is this site (Mozilla support) is the least helpful!! i have found solutions that worked off of Non Mozilla forums!! 
Ok here goes...... 1. Auto complete works in location/address bar, when I click ENTER on keyboard or click the blue arrow in address bar NOTHING HAPPENS!!! I can go to bookmarks click on one and it will go right to the page! It's like the address bar is dead! 2. I have NO search engines in the search bar located right next to address bar, the only solution I found for that called for typing commands in the address bar, which i can do but it wont do anything!!! 
Please keep in mind I did a full Google search on these problems and have found that a lot of people have the same issues regardless of Firefox versions or Operating systems!! 
This is my last attempt to get accurate and proven solutions/fixes to these problems before I wash my hands of Mozilla, I'm sure someone will tell me to just do it!!! 
I am hoping to get knowledgeable responses to this post!!

If the 11.01 & 11.02 are empty backups then make sure that create a backup of the other .json backups elsewhere as soon as possible to avoid losing backups that may still work.
The other profiles appear to have older bookmarks. You can check the file compatibility.ini in a profile to see which version of Firefox last used that profile.
A possibility is to create a fourth profile to test each of the JSON backups and check which bookmarks they store. If you open that profile with the -no-remote switch then you can copy and paste bookmarks from one profile (instance) to another profile. Both profiles need to be open at the same time to do that.

I use to be able to enter a URL and hit enter and Firefox would go to that site. Now I must hit the arrow in the address bar to go to the web page. How can I change that back

I can no longer just hit enter to go to a web page. Now I have to hit the arrow on the right side of the address bar.

There is a known issue for Firefox 10 on Windows. It involves AVG Safe Search making the "Enter" key not work in the Location/URL bar. AVG needs to fix the problem with their Add-on for Firefox.

On the left side of my address bar it is showing that firefox has blocked content that is insecure, whenevr I'm using facebook or any other apps related to it.

Firefox is blocking content from almost all the websites.
It is even showing that for this page.
Every time I refresh the facebook page/ an app on the facebook this will appear.
Previously it used to crash firefox, then I upgraded it but since then it is just keeping on blocking if the gray/ geen colored padlock is active on the left side of the address bar.
So every time I get this error I have to refresh the page & again disable protection on the page.
If the website is verified then is firefox blocking almost everything.

I would recommend running the latest version, Firefox 25. Improvements are always being made based on user feedback.
Starting in Firefox 23, if a secure page includes certain types of insecure content, Firefox blocks the insecure content and a shield icon will appear in the address bar. To temporarily allow the mixed content to be displayed:

You may want to do this only for the current session, then reset the preference back to "true" and check back with the site to see whether it's been fixed, since this is a global setting that exposes you on all sites, not just the one you care about.

Searching in address bar takes me to yahoo instead of google now, can't figure out how to reset it.

I used to be able to just type in my searches in the address bar, or if I mis-typed a URL, it would google search it. Now, it does that with Yahoo, and I can't figure out how to reset it. I did the about:config thing, and it didn't work. Suggestions?

The menu bar is present, but I can not enter any websites. There is no longer a place to type it in.

I have tried to close and open the menu bar several times (ALT+V T M), and it clearly goes away, but there is still no place to enter any website address. I have also restarted my computer and Firefox.

Links toolbar has disappeared and can't get it back

My "Links" toolbar has disappeared. I use the xmarks addon and it has not been able to fix it. This has also happenned on Internet Explorer on the same machine. I run the same version of Firefox and IE on another machine and laptop and the toolbar is there.
When I rightclick next to the menubar, the Links Toolbar is not there to enable. Seems like some registery setting has been altered if it has affected IE as well as Firefox.
Any ideas? Help would be most appreciated.

Try two things
1. try to send mail from icloud.com - by that we eliminate possible problem on your device.
2. Sending mail to the same yahoo address from other email - that way we can eliminate or pinpoint problem with icloud smtp server. ( for that one you will have to give it a few hours, cause another server may give you delayed failure.)

Address bar not showing up in Toolbar

Safari was accidently deleted from my MB pro. Im running OSx 10.6.8 with safari 5.0.5. I was able to install it again using the install disk and checked for any software updates but it still is not showing up in my toolbar. I searched and tried the view/customize to drag the default set to toolbar, made sure show toolbar is selected etc, but still no middle section of toolbar. When I would try to drag the default set to toolbar nothing happens. The toolbar area is being shown, with the left and right arrows (on the left) and the google search window shows (on the right), but the center white window to type web address' is not.

MIght be corrupted preferences (.pllist)
Quit Safari.
Go to ~/Library/Preferences
Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
Relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, move the .plist file to the Trash. If not, move it back to the Preferences folder.
Im running OSx 10.6.8 with safari 5.0.5
If that didn't help, try updating your system software. 5.0.5 is outdated for Safari.
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Software Update ..
Restart your Mac after the updates are installed.

Hi, it looks like entire toolbar is hidden, I can bring it up by brushing the mouse on the right hand corner, but the Mozilla Firefox button is missing, so I have no access to my bookmarks.

Can anyone explain what happened and how do I get the toolbar and the Mozilla button back?I don't remember doing anything different, the toolbar just disappeared. Nothing brings the toolbar permanently on screen and even when it's on screen the Mozilla button (tab?) is missing.

Something that I ran had changed the string to http://search.conduit.com/ResultsExt.aspx?ctid=CT2786678&q= . So, it didn't say Bing and for that reason I couldn't find which string to change. Keyword.URL was it. Once I found it, with your help, I could see why it didn't find Bing. I substituted the string http://www.google.com/search?q= from the article, tried it and it worked. Thank you very much!
