My applet works differently between online and offline.

This is my applet which I made yesterday.
When you click on the link, push the button, and run the applet online,
nothing happens when you click on help - about dodgesnow version 0.1, which is on the menubar above.
However, if you download the html file and run the applet again, you can see the "about dialog".
The dialog is made with the dialog form in NetBeans 5.0, and therefore uses its own layout library.
I want to know why this happens.

1. your applet does not work in IE because it tries to run your applet with msjvm. Use object tag instead of applet.
In the [jdk home]/bin directory there is a tool called htmlconverter.
Use that to convert your html page.
2. your applet tries to do something outside of the applet's sandbox security.

I am not sure what you mean by running the applet locally (appletviewer
with policy, netbeans) Or opening the html page and having a policy for
code run locally.
Why would your applet comming from blogfile.paran.com:80 try to
connect to image.paran.com:80 I guess java sees this as another sub
domain and won't let the applet do this.
3. when I open your applet it takes a full one minute after loading the applet before I see the gui.

MB51, download to excel works different for online and background.

Hi,
Have a question regarding excel download of MB51 in online mode against background.
If I run MB51 online, I can download it to an excel sheet that is easy to read and work with. Each column in the report in seperate column in excel.
If I run it in the background, try to download the spool to excel, I don't get the columns the same way as online report.
Ive tried changing the layout, downloading to excel, downloading to text and then dropping to excel, etc.
Why wont the download from a batch job work the same as online?
Any ideas or anyway to fix?

Hi All,
I am also facing the same problem. When I download to Powerpoint, its getting downloaded properly and whn I download to excel, I am not able to download properly. I have 2 charts of the same report being displayd sde-by-side and under them I have a pivot table displayed in compound view. When downloaded to excel, the first chart is overlapping on top of the report in the excel.
Can anyone suggest if we have any options?

Hi Gurprit,
A null value is being passed at runtime. Make sure that you enter values when filling in the form.
Also check for the cardinality of the nodes being used. You can also initiliaze your value attributes as follows:

Wut mean by online and offline option in OBIEE Administration?

any one cane told the difference of online and offline option to open a repository in oracle BI Administration?

OBIEE Administration can be done in two modes
1) Offline
2) Online
Offline: Where most of the developement work is done and repository is not loaded in to the server
Online: Repository is loaded in to server and few modifications are done.
When the services are started( Bi Server and Presentation Server) the repository is loaded in to the server and when try to open the repository in Offline mode it open in Read only mode.

CIC0 Partner determination different between crmd_order and CIC0

Hi experts,
We have a problem with the partner determination. We have a partner who has relations with several other partners. In the partner determination procedure, we have indicatied that the partner needs at most one occurence and a selection limitation of 1. There is also an access sequence that makes sure that the right partner is found.
This all works fine in the CRMD_order transaction. You get a list of partner to choose from when you enter the main partner. Unfortunately, this does not work in the CIC0 transaction. In this case the system takes the top partner of the list.
Does anyone know why partner determination in CIC0 seems to ignore the setting of selection limitation and occurences? Why is this different between crmd_order and CIC0? How can we make it the same?

Hi Ragina, welcome to SDN.
My opinion is that main purpose for that, was to speed up the interaction registration by the call center agents.
But if you want to display the partner selection pop-up in CIC0 t-code, you can try to implement note 487734 for that.

substring(0) will return the entire String, of course, which you would know if had actually looked at the API docs to find out what it did or even simply printed out the result to see what it did. Instead, you focused on "the difference between contains and equals" which is self-evident in their names and obviously not the problem to begin with.

1. The above exception message is getting carried forward to other pages as well. I mean somewhere in the session/ADFContext this message is being saved and error comes up/pops up when i click on other tabs of the page. How do i clear this?
2. The above exception message is coming for the first time but when i click the 'Submit' button second time, i am getting the results and also the message that 'Query is taking too long to respond'. This should not be the case, everytime it should show the same message as the timeout limit is less and the query should end without fetching the results.
Kindly let me know how to resolve the above issues, any pointers will be helpful.

Are you looking for Push and Pull mechanism of PI?
When the adapters like SOAP, HTTP, IDOC, etc. send the data to PI , it is nothing but a push mechanism, and hence the communication is synchronous by default.
But adapters like JDBC, File, etc. they fetch the data from Source Applications, so it is a kind of Pull mechanism for PI, and
by default communication is asynchrnous.
Pls elaborate exactly what are you looking for?

FB60 screen change layout different between DEV and PRD

Hi,
I'm having problem with transaction FB60. When i try to change the layout in PRD, in screen Edit System Setting, some of the field showing 0 length. For example in WBS element field, in DEV show length 24 but PRD show length 0. I try to compare the version but it is same (program & table structure - ACGL_ITEM). When I debug the program, found out that it will get the structure from sap internal c program call 'AB_GET_CX_DATA'. So, maybe this program version are different between DEV and PRD.
Anybody knows what is the cause of this problem? Or maybe somebody can tell me how to check sap internal c program.

Yes. FB60 is Enter Vendor Invoice. In this screen you can see a table with column such as GL Acct, Debit/Credit, Amount in DC, Cost Center and others. You can add or remove some of the field using Table Setting and create Screen Variant. My problem is, the length of WBS Element and Profit Center field is 0. How to change the length.
I already searched in forum but I only found how to create screen variant.

The difference between Component and Component Type are:
Component This is essentially the field name in the extraction structure. These can either be SAP delivered field names or custom field names (e.g. Y* or Z*).
Component Type This defines the data definition for the field, along with associated attrributes and descriptions for anything using that Component Type, to define the corresponding Component. If you double-click on any Component Type in an extraction structure, it will show you the definitions that have been setup for that Component Type (will display as Data Element but it's essentially synonymous - Component Type refers to structures and Data Elements refer to tables).

Analytics is business process oriented and thus it's domain is BPX hence it is placed under forum for BPX(Business Process Expert).
VC is a tool and it is in technology domain.
First we discuss a scernario based on particular business process. Then we prepare detailed level of analysis-reporting and actionable analytics this business process would need. Then we use tools like VC to accomplish this actionable analytics.

At is simplest ODI is an enterprise scale ELT tool that can cope with moving very large amounts of data bwteen heteregeneous systems. It requires a fair degree of technical knowledge to use well and that the user is pretty competent with SQL. It is not really an end user tool and the jobs tend to be lights out scheduled processes with a limited user interface for executing these jobs. FDQM is more of a data quaility tool which gives the average end user the out of the box functionality to be able to transform and load data into various target systems. It is not designed to move very large amounts of data efficiently i.e. multi millions of lines of data like ODI. However it does have a rich user interface that provides an easy to use mapping engine, a repeatbale controlled data load process and has a host of in built reporting and audit features which would have to be built from scratch in a tool like ODI
