My Clickwheel Keeps On Freezing

How do I articulate this? When I enter a menu fresh, the clickwheel works fine. Let's hypothesise that I've just selected a track, 'Weak Become Heroes' by The Streets. The volume at the start of the song is a bit loud so I give the wheel a wee flick and lower it. All is fine. After a window of 10 seconds or so the clickwheel suddenly freezes. It just stops working. I can't alter the volume anymore. However, if I 'refresh the page' (ie. press the Menu button to back out of the current 'page' and then push Select to re-enter it), it suddenly works again fine. For 10 seconds or so. And then it freezes again and I have to do another 'refresh'. And it goes on like this.
I've put up with this for 9 months now (I've been out of warranty). Why does this happen? Is it a fault with the machine or the last firmware update Apple released? This never used to happen in the first year that I owned the iPod mini. What can I do to fix the problem, bar sending it in for a costly (and pointless repair)?

By doing a Restore = erase your iPod and refomat it. Of course install the software back to your iPod. You should able to find the iPod updater in your PC (one of the programe). Open it and plug your iPod with your computer only when you be asked to do so. and click Restore. I have a mini suffered from the same problem and ended up with a replacement.

I updated my Firefox on the weekend to 3.6.6 and now it keep on freezing when ever i open firefox

it been really annoying recently using Firefox because it keep on freezing when every i open a new window. I have to close and keep on trying to open a new page until it doesn't "freeze" it been happening most of the time i open Firefox. Is there anyway to fix this problem?

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

E52 keeps on freezing after updating to firware 05...

I am experiencing a very annoying problem.
I've never had any problems before using my E52 and have been updating it quite regularly. Two days ago i update my phone with the 054.003 firmware using the build in updater and since then the phone keeps on freezing...
Generally it happens when the phone goes to screensaver mode, i just can't get to unlock it one time out of two... But sometimes it just freezes as i'm using it. I've tried to reset the phone completely, even doing a hard reset, nothing works.
It really looks like the update has messed my phone up... So if any of you have an idea for a solution, just let me know please, it's extremely frustrating.

I did an update through the phone using a wifi connection with the "SW Update" of the phone. I use a mac and so have no access to ovi suite updates unfortunately...
I thought I'd do a hard reset to restore the initial parameters of the phone but it seems the reset doesn't restore the initial version of the firmware... so no luck there as it still freezes all the time. Is there any way i could downgrade the firmware to the previous version? Maybe that could be a solution.

Try clearing Safari and Chrome, close both apps and then reset the device.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and Data. In Chrome, tap the 3 horizontal line in the upper right corner. Then go to Settings>Privacy>Clear Cookies, Cache and Site Data.
Now close both apps. To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Safari app then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Now the reset - Reset the iDevice by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the device start up.

ITunes keeps on freezing/crashing

I had to remove and re-add a lot of my music because I changed file servers recently.
Well in the midst of all that, iTunes froze. So I force-quit it, and then restarted it. Well lo and behold, it crashes after a few seconds (whether I click somewhere or I don't) it keeps on freezing.
I've restarted twice, but no dice. I don't want to remove the com.Apple.iTunes.plist file because I don't want to have to re-add everything, but the biggest problem is that all my podcasts, my iPod syncing preferences would be ruined, wouldn't they?
Any ideas on how to fix it?

The plist shouldn't remove anything. Try to remove it (while iTunes is closed, of course). If you want to be safe, have a backup of the file.
You may also want to eliminate any plugins you have installed. Those can sometimes cause funkiness with iTunes updates.

Firefox keeps mini-freezing

Firefox keeps mini-freezing, or locking up or something. Its not really frozen, because if a video's playing at the time it'll keep playing like normal, but other than that its effectively frozen. I can't press any links, I can't use the browser buttons, I can't scroll, I can't type, and I can't even minimize the window. Opening up a random file from my desktop seems to make the problem go away (at which point everything I tried to do while it was frozen will instantly happen all at once), but then it'll happen again in a couple of minutes.

My 2nd Generation iPod Touch keeps on freezing.

Okaay, so here's the problem.
My iPod keeps on freezing whenever I put it on 'hold'.
Like, if I'm done using the iPod, I'll press the 'hold' button like always... and then several minutes later, when I want to use it again my iPod wouldn't turn on.
And if I try to turn it on... I would have to press the button really hard and long ('cause I dropped it several times so the hold button is like... dented in).
And my iPod runs out of battery really quick even though I don't even use it anymore.
I don't know if it's because I only have like 0.29mb that's why it's causing these problems...
And I don't really want to restore my iPod because some of the stuff that's on there can't sync (like some voice clips)... but if restoring is the only way... then i guess i'll restore it.

You can't fill up any HD to the max and expect the Mac/Pc/iDevice to be working without any problems. That's why the OS needs a little free space to be able to perform certain tasks, and 0.29mb is certainly not enough space to make sure your ipod can function without problems.
The storage media in your Apple product, like all storage devices, uses some of its capacity for formatting, so actual capacity available for applications and files will be less. In addition, other factors, such as pre-installed systems or other software and media, will also use part of the available storage capacity.

Apps also need some free space to be able to start or perform their tasks. So, to wrap it up, give your ipod more free space and it will be working again without causing problems.

Safari 3.1.2 keeps of freezing.

I was having trouble with constant crashes after I updated this evening. After pursuing a few threads, I first disabled the fraud warnings in the security settings. Then I reset Safari (deleted cache, cookies, etc). Neither of those worked, so finally I upgraded my PithHelmet (http://www.culater.net/software/PithHelmet/PithHelmet.php). I hope these point you in the right direction.

Iphone 4 keeps randomly freezing

My sister's new iphone 4 keeps randomly freezing up. The screen froze at startup, in an app, and when we tried to take a picture. I tried holding down the on button and the home button for a while, but that doesn't work. The only way its stops freezing is when the battery dies out. I can't even plug it in to the power cord to get it to charge or get it to restart. No reaction whatsoever. Any ideas on what to do, other than take it back to Best Buy where we bought it? We've had it for almost a month and this is the fourth time it's frozen. So frustrating!
