My computer died and was working on a paper. Is it Possible to restore it??
My computer died while I was woking on a paper. Is it possible to restore what I was working on?
Do you mean crashed?
You have managed to restart it?
Did you ever save the document?
Is the hard drive working?
What version of OSX and Pages are you using?

My computer died and now works....
So 2 years ago someone spilled a huge cup of coffee on my Macbook and I was from there on out unable to turn it on. I bought a new one, but for whatever reason left the old one in my closet. I am moving so pulled it out tonight and thought I would plug it in just in case before I recycled it. Anddddd I am writing from that supposedly dead computer right now. Do you think it will konk out and this is just a fluke or if it is working (and it is working great) then it is good?
It may be working fine now, but that probably won't last. There's probably some coffee dried onto some part(s) of the computer on the inside. If you're comfortable with opening up the machine, you could take a look at all the parts, and also rinse them with distilled water to (hopefully) clear away any remaining coffee.
I spilled vitamin water on a Toshiba laptop last spring. It worked fine for a while, after letting it dry out, but started to act up within a few weeks. The machine does still run (over a year later), but I've had to turn off the wireless card as it causes the machine to present me with a blue screen if the card is turned on.
You machine may be as "lucky" or it may have more serious damage. There's no way to tell without opening it up and looking.

Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device

I have an old ipod (it's the very thin oblong one in purple, the one before the one that does video) and want to know how to get everything off it and into my iTunes library. My old computer died and the original library was lost, so don't have any of the content saved anywhere else. I now have an iPhone 5S and listen to music on that, so want to be able to listen to things from the old ipod too.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks very much
JaneApple normally does not get involved in handling lost objects like this. Since a real name is not installed it will be much more difficult.
You can try contacting Apple support at the US number, assume you are US going to BWI from the listing: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 and explain the situation and see if they offer any suggestions. -
Old computer died and I am trying to install Illustrator CS5 on new computer.
Last version I had before CS5 was/is Illustrator 10,which has been installed on new computer.
CS5 install says I need CS2,3 or 4 before installing 5, but old computer went directly from 10 to CS5.
How can I repeat this 10 to CS5 install? It does not seem likely that CS6 was upgraded from version 10. You might want to check your purchase history in your Adobe account to see if there is some missing link in the chain of purchases you made.
You can always try contacting Adobe support thru chat to see if they can find information or otherwise assist you in this matter.

My computer died and my ipod was stolen. Now I have an iphone 4 and want to get to my library. Any ideas?
It will only be where you put it.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion..
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can redownload some purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store -
My computer died and I had to buy another one. Now I can't sync my ipod classic. What is the deal with this? I added songs about three months ago and it was fine. Now it won't sync. It says it can't sync because there is a duplicate file.
There are server problems right now with iMessage effecting some users. See http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/systemstatus/.

How do I transfer data from and Ipad/iphone to an imac with a different address then initally setup with? Our hard drive died and was replaced free of charge by Apple, our data was lost on the hard drive but exists on our small devices.
Since Apple replaced the hard drive does that mean you have AppleCare? If so, call them. If not, you must have paid pretty good to get it replaced and so I would think you have some possible right to ask a followup question at the store that did it.

I am trying to install Photoshop Elements on my new Windows 8 computer (I recently upgraded my windows 7 computer where Photoshop was working fine on before). It says the serial number is invalid. Do older versionsnot work on Windows8, or do I need to uninstall it from my old computer first?
You are allowed to have two activated installations. If you happened to have one on this Windows 8 machine before, it is possible that the activation used for it was never deactivated (did you deactivate it before you upgraded Windows?). Talk to Adobe support thru chat. They might be able to resolve this with you:

I performed a time machine backup without plugging my labtop into a power source. My computer died and all the settings were changed, ie the clock and date were changed back to 2001. So I tried to restore my computer using a previous time machine backup. (which I now know was wrong). However, when time machine tried to restore it said there was not enough room to do a backup. It seems that it did a half backup because some essential files such as system profiler are now missing. Can I undo this restore...? What can I do to fix this
You need to do a full system restore, per Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #14.
If that sends a message, please note the exact wording. -
My other computer died and have my bookmark synced with Firefox sync, however, I no longer have access to sync key and I do not want to generate a new key and erase my old bookmarks. How do I retrieve them?
Sorry, without the Sync Key you can't use Sync to recover your personal data. If you have another device that was connected that Sync account, you can recover your Sync Key from that other device in the Password Manager on non-mobile devices. See - [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/how-do-i-manage-my-firefox-sync-account?redirectlocale=en-US&redirectslug=where-can-i-find-my-firefox-sync-key#w_where-can-i-find-my-recovery-key this].
''Firefox Sync wasn't intended to be a "backup" medium, it was made to keep certain data synchronized between multiple devices.'' That "key" is used to encrypt your data before being uploaded to the Sync server and decrypt the data as it is downloaded to one of your devices. Only you have access to that "key", to maintain security over your data no one else knows that "key".
If you still have that old PC or the hard drive from that old PC, you can connect it to the new PC via USB with a USB enclosure, and you should be able to recover that data if the hard drive didn't fail.<br />
