My computer won't stop downloading a song

I purchased some songs yesterday.  Its been about 24 hours and it says it still downloading.  I try to delete or pause and nothing will stop it

The same thing happened to me right before Christmas. On the phone with Apple Care, all sorts of tests, nothing. On the phone with a tech friend of mine, same tests, nothing. Genius Bar at the Apple Store, same tests, nothing. Finally, he confirmed that my hard drive was indeed damaged and that it would have to be replaced. Then the Genius and I call him that lovingly, put in DiskWarrior (something he told me they weren't supposed to do) and it fixed it. He told me it might happen again and that eventually I would have to replace the hard drive. I went right out and bought DiskWarrior4 to have with me at all times. Knock on wood, it's been working ever since.
Good Luck!

  • Itunes will not stop downloading a song Help!!!

I can't get itunes to stop downloading a song. I have tried everything I know how which probably isn't much, however it isn't fixing the problem. Please someone tell me what to do!

In a peculiar twist, in 11.1.1 two particular podcasts (Science Friday audio & video) have two particular weeks of episodes (one was last week, so it may extend to the future as well) that won't delete permanently.  When you delete the already played episodes, they just download again on a refresh.  That behavior is described in lots of places.  I thought it might be a bug in the RSS code, but I've compared SciFri with some others that don't have the problem and can't identify anything glaring.
The peculiar twist is that if I mark the already listened to episodes as Played (so I don't have to look at the large counter number), after awhile they show up as unplayed again!  Some bit deep down in the iTunes innards is not sticking as it should once episodes are played, and it's apparently an intermittent issue that affects only certain podcasts.  One would think it couldn't have anything to do with the actual audio or video content, so it must have something to do with the XML or the metadata being read or set wrong.
Very vexing, because without constant policing, downloads and disc space keep accumulating - a problem for those on limited data plans.

My iPhone 5 won't stop scrolling through songs and I can't stop it please help !! :(

settings - general - usuage - music - delete.   Then do a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
Then sync the music back via iTunes.

  • Computer is tring to download 3 songs at a time! HELP!

Last July I purchaced a song. Let's call it SongA. Before it could finish dowloading my internet service shut down for reasons still unknown. The song was lost, or so I thought, and never tried to download on its own. 20 songs, a new hardrive, and 6 months later I tried to purchase another song. Let's call this one SongB. I paid for SongB but when it started downloadindit said at the top "Downloadind SongA song 1 of 2." That title quickly changed to "Downloading SongB song 1 of 2." My computer was trying to download 2 songs at a time!! I went under "Advanced" on the menu and selected "Check for Purchases." The same EXACT thing happened! I tried multiple times, every time I got on the internet I tried yet, I have gotten the same result every time. Today another iPod user in my house got on my account and purchased SongC. Now the same thing is happening except with 3 songs this time!! Apple is about to lose a faithful song buyer if this is not resolved!!

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If those don't work - sign out of your account - Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad and then go back to Settings>Store and sign in again.

  • Razr won't stop downloading my pics to my computer

I use my new Razr as a modem for my computer.  However, every time I connect or disconnect my phone from my computer it automatically starts downloading my pictures from my phone.  It doesn't even ask me where I would like my pictures to be downloaded.  It just starts dumping them.  Every single time.  I called the Verizon store where I bought the phone and they told me this was normal for the Razr.  This can't be!!  If it is, I'm returning my phone.  It is more of a hassle than what it is worth.  Does anyone know how to make my phone quit doing this?

        Hi Pattyf48!
That's no good! I know this can be quite annoying. Let me help! When you attach the device to the computer, does any type of software pop on the computer? Do you see anything in the system tray running in the lower right hand corner? possibly an icon that you don't normally see when the phone is not connected. Let me know, I want to make sure this is resolved.
    Thanks,

  • Computer won't stop updating - cannot access start screen

When powering down the other night the system began an automatic update.  It reached 100% and then sat there doing its thing with a note to not turn the computer off.  The next day I found that the computer had shut itself off and when I tried to start it it again gave the message that it was updating and to not turn the computer off.  I sat there for 2 hours watching the little balls going 'round and occasionally touching the screen to keep it from turning itself off.
Does anyone know how I stop this and get to my start screen?

Which Windows operating system am I running?

  • How do you stop itunes video download on ipad? No pause button appears. Won't stop downloading, over and over again.

I purchased a tv episode on my ipad. It started to download, after an hour it gave an error message. The episode appeared in videos, I watched it. Then I discovered it was still downloading. It gets up to the end, then starts all over again. Nothing I do will stop it. There is no pause button, nothing happens when I swipe it. I've tried everything, turning off, signing out of appleid, it basically eats up my bandwith nonstop and I can no longer use my ipad. How do I get this thing to stop downloading?

  • ITunes won't stop downloading TV shows

Last December I was going on vacation and began downloading the entire season of Pan-Am. After watching one episode, I decided to stop the downloads. Ever since, every time I connect my iPhone to my laptop or even just start iTunes, it continues to try downloading the episodes. I have deleted the episodes, I have gone into the iTunes folder and deleted them, and nothing has worked. I cannot stop downloading them! I pause them every time I open it, but I would like to stop completely.

This did not work for me.
    Nothing works for me.
Sometimes when I load iTunes, it tries to automatically download all sorts of TV shows I purchased.
Even Season 2 episodes of Dexter I watched long ago.
Not every time.  Maybe every other time?  Or every third time I load iTunes.
It seems so arbitrary, that I think it's seriously trying to mess with me.
It also happens when I select "Check for Available Downloads" --
I don't have a good enough internet connection to download 57 gigabytes worth of TV I don't want to watch.
Even if I delete Dexter from iCloud.
Even if I pause the downloads and mark them as watched.
    Nothing works.
    Dexter will not go away.
    I want to murder iTunes.

  • Won't stop downloading

Contacted iTunes about losing songs on my iPhone after 3.0 upgrade. Go to iTunes and click 'Report a problem' links on songs I lost. I get a message telling me to go to 'Check for downloads' on iTunes.
I do that and, lo and behold, it wants to download EVERY song I've bought from iTunes in the last 3 or so years, not just the two albums I had actually lost.
When I used the 'Check for downloads' feature on my iPhone, it too started downloading songs at will, all over the place.
Now I cannot remove any songs from the download queue. When I launch iTunes on the iPhone/Mac, the queue kicks back in. All I can do is Pause All or Resume All on the Mac, but I can't do anything on my iPhone. If I launch iTunes on the iPhone, it continues to download.
I am ending up with nearly all of my purchased songs (1655 to be exact) getting re-downloaded, and ending up with a massive pile of duplicate songs in my Music directory.
Can I contact Apple and tell them to reset my Check for Downloads queue?

Man that is insane that it keeps trying to download the 1655 songs that you have downloaded over the last few years; I can see why you don't want this happening
Anyways, I would DEFINITELY contact apple and ask them to reset your 'check for downloads' queue. I am willing to bet that they will help you out. If not, I feel pretty sorry for you, sounds like a real nightmare!

  • Bought new computer, Won't let me transfer songs from Ipod to new computer?

Is this possible? I have several hundred songs on my Ipod/other computer (desktop). I bought a new Dell laptop and I was hoping I could transfer all the songs on my new computer. It did let me transfer the songs that were purchsed through Itunes but not the others that I downloaded from CD's. When I connect the Ipod to the new computer it shows no songs on it.
Can I just connect my laptop to my desktop and tranfer songs or is there a way to trasfer the songs from the Ipod to the new laptop?

The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes

    SharePod Windows Only
    iRepo Mac and Windows
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
