My desktop with OSX spontaneously pauses during news videos and movies
I have a desktop using OSX and it has been working fine, without any problems on web searches, etc. But recently when I try to watch news videos or clips from sources such as CNN, CSpan, PBS or BBC, etc, the video suddenly pauses. Usually it will restart after 30 seconds to a minute but not always. The same thing has been happening when I watch a tv show or movie on Hulu. Does anyone know what might cause this? It's a fairly recent occurrence.
1. System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
Press the "Delete All" button
Install Adobe Flash Player.

Download it first.
The next step is important.
Click Safari in the menubar and select “Quit Safari”.
Follow the prompts and install it.
Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Allow Plug-ins
Safari > Preferences > Security
Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"
Enable it.
3. Safari > Preferences > Privacy
Press the button “ Remove All Website Data”.

Your iPod is designed to sync with only one iTunes library at a time. It will recognize the iTunes library on the PC as a new library. If you sync the iPod with this new library, all content will be erased from the iPod and replaced with what is in the new library. So what you will want to do is copy everything from the iPod to your new iTunes library on your PC first.

While updating my iphone 4s to ios6, I had to restore it. Now every time I connect to itunes, I get the "Set Up Your iPhone" window with the set up as new iphone and restore from backup options. After the restore, I got everything except my apps and music back. Do I need to set the phone up as new again?

I have a Mac pro with osx ml in a Ethernet connection and a apple tv with a wireless, there is no way I can see the airplay in my Mac pro
Mac Pros don't support Airplay. Only some post 2011 Macs do, MAc Pros aren't amongst them.

Why we still dont have sound notifications on iPhone??? This started in September with the launch of the new IOS and iPhone 5... I've been waiting and waiting and still nothing... How hard can this be to fix????????
Hi guys... The notifications i'm speaking about are everything that happens on our facebook. The only exception where i get notifications is if someone actually use my name on a post, then i have a notification. Now, if it is a post on my wall, a comment on one of my photos or even a like, there is no sound or vibration at all.
Also, when i say "We" is bacause there are a few users complaining about the same. There are some other forums, specially on facebook about this. What happens is that facebook blocks some of those groups.
One more thing is i did try all possible things to make sure i was doing the right things in order to have notifications. Slider is obviously not in mute position, notifications sounds are on on facebook settings on main settings and also inside the app they are on. Did try to switch everything off and reboot then change again. Did restore the iPhone as new a couple of times. And like i said, if someone actually write my name i will have sound notification...

Premiere Elements 13 issue with the mouse on MAC OSX Yosemite 10.10.1
When I select a clip of video and move to a different place in my time line, Premiere Elements 13, will not release the clip from the mouse.
The clip follows my mouse movements and goes to other places in my time line.
I try to delete these extra insertions, but the mouse will not release the clip.
Action I’ve taken: I’ve re-installed Premiere Elements 13. Problem remains.
This issue has consumed too much of my time and does not go away. It ruins my video.

ThanksI tried using the Guest Account on my Mac. In the Guest Account, Illustrator works perfect!
Then I started wondering what processes (tools/tweaks) I run by default on my account. Turned out the problem was called by a little background tool called RightZoom. RightZoom let's the green 'zoom' button always maximize your current window.

All my photos on my phone are in one album. Is there a way to create new albums and move some of them?
With photos transferred from your computer, you create the albums or folders on your computer.
If you manually manage photo storage on your computer, create a parent folder that will store the named folders of photos you want transferred to your iPhone. Place the named folders of photos in this parent folder and select the parent folder under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync. The folders of photos inside of the parent folder on your computer's hard drive will be transferred to your iPhone as separate albums. To add an additional album of photos to your iPhone, place the folder of photos in the parent folder followed by a sync. To remove an album of photos from your iPhone, move the folder of photos outside of the parent folder followed by a sync. -

Some of the newer shows and movies on my IPAD 2 show "cannot open content not authorized"
All of my library plays on my MAC and Apple TV, but some of the newer shows and movies on my IPAD 2 show "cannot open content not authorized" . If I download them directly to my IPAD they will play. iPad and MAC are all up to date. I have restarted the IPAD 2 and MAC multiple times.
I have the opposite issue. I play my tv shows and movies on itunes off my computer but all I get is the audio. The picture shows up in flashes every couple of times but does not stay on. I have the most recent Itunes (7.6.1)available and am running Windows Vista. Any help available?

I have an iMac with OSX 10.6.8 & I mistakenly added Safari for OSX 10.9 on it and now I can't use Safari. Is there any way to uninstall the newer Safari and leave my older version with its bookmarks, etc. or do I have to delete it and reinstall the proper update ?
Let it go... these DL's take forever, depending on the spped of your connection and the traffic on the servers.
If by morning it is still sitting there restart and the DL should pick up from where it left off. -
Does "Messages" in OSX 10.8.2 work cross platform? My daughter has an android phone and I can text with her OK in iOS. However, her texts don't show up on OSX whereas texts from my son, who has an iPhone, work in iOS and OSX.

The answer is yes and no.
As Barney-15E link says you can get the Messages app to SMS to AIM Buddies. Or rather telephone Numbers as AIM Buddies.
There are limits.
The computer has to be set as if in the United States (System Preferences > Language and Text > Region)
The phone is question has to be on a carrier that supports AIM SMS forwarding which only applies to some US based carriers.
The reason the SMS Messages arriving on the iPhone do not sync is that they are not iMessages (the "No" Part).
I use Messages with the Buddy List Showing.
As a test I have added a made up number as a Buddy and also created a Address Card for it.
So Mousing over the "Buddy" reveal the "Screen Name" which is the phone Number
You have to include the Leading +1 country code as well.

Migrating from old mac with OSX 10.7 to new mac with OSX 10.8
I've just bought new MacBook Pro which comes with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion pre-installed. Previously I was using old MacBook with Mac OS X 10.7 Lion (the model which don't support Mountain Lion). I would like to transfer all my data from old computer to the new one using my TimeMachine drive. I assume that after restoring all my data from TimeMachine, I will have Mac OS X 10.7 Lion on the new MacBook, is this right? If so, would I be able to upgrade my system to Mountain Lion later without buying it on the Mac App Store? Or maybe there is a way to transfer all my data from old computer to the new one, preserving currently installed OS X Mountain Lion on the new laptop?
The reason macjack and tzikowski recommend doing the migration when the computer is booted for the first time is due to how Migration Assistant works. MA doesn't copy Applications & files, it copies Applications & accounts. If you've already logged into your computer, when you use Migration Assistant it will copy your account from your old computer to the new one. Most people have a preferred account name and have already set up their new computer with it so when MA is run and the old account is copied, it has to be renamed. This can be disturbing or disappointing and yes, you can simply delete the first account you made and change the name of the migrated one but the short name isn't changed, just the long name.
But when you boot the computer for the first time you can migrate before any account is created so the old account is copied to the new computer and your account name remains the same. This is the only difference between Migration Assistant and what's called Setup Assistant in the first boot utility. -
Can we pause during a video recording?
I had wonder that if that's possible for any apple device that we could pause during our recording usually like how the samsung devices, is there gonna be an update for Apple for that?
Some FTP clients will allow you to do this with files you are uploading to the internet, and some have ways to copy files to and from your local hard drive, so in theory, I guess it's possible this could be done, assuming you want to start a file copy, stop or suspend it, then re-start it again later.

Setting up OSX after installing a new SSD and moving HDD to optical bay
Hey all,
I know there are a tonne of other posts similar to this one in here, but I couldn't find the specific answers I was looking for.
Soon I'm going to remove my optical bay and put my current HDD in it's place, and install a brand new SSD where the original HDD once was. I'm comfortable with the hardware installation but am wary about what to expect on first power up afterwards.
I would like to ideally run OSX Mavericks and all of my apps (everything from Notepad to Premiere Pro) from the SSD, and leave all of my data on the HDD. I have an early 2011 13" Macbook Pro, model number A1278.
- When I first turn the computer on after the hardware switcheroo, what can I expect to see? How do I re-install OSX Mavericks onto the new drive? Am I right in thinking that Mavericks is merely an upgrade rather than a whole new OSX and that I will need to install Lion and then upgrade to Mavericks rather than just reboot immediately to Mavericks?
- How can I then remove Mavericks from the original HDD?
- Exactly which files do I need to move to completely relocate the apps to the new drive? Is it as simple as moving the entire applications folder over, or are there hidden files dotted all over the place that I need to consider also?

if your current HDD is a SATA III (6.0 Gb/s maximum throughput) drive, then you might find that you’ll have problems with it in the Optibay position. If this is the case, you’d probably be better off putting your SATA III drive into an external enclosure, and purchasing a SATA II (3.0 Gb/s maximum) drive to install in the Optibay.
If you have a SATA-to-USB or SATA-to-FireWire adapter, you can connect your SSD externally and format it with Disk Utility. After that, you could use a cloning utility to copy the contents of your internal HDD to your SSD (presuming that the SSD is at least as large as the amount of space currently used on your internal HDD), and then boot from the external SSD using Startup Manager to make sure that everything works well on it; that will save you from having to make sure that all of the scattered hidden files have been migrated. Once you’ve confirmed that your apps run well from the SSD, you can then install the SSD and move the HDD to wherever it’s going. An advantage of keeping Mavericks on your HDD is that you can boot from it if needed, e.g. should your SSD develop a problem. -
Got new Iphone and labtop with Windows 7.
Now can only find the old purchased music via old phone in Purchase History.
How can I get the purchased files into Music list in Itunes, in order to sync with new Iphone ?Go to the iTunes app on your iPhone. On the bottom tap Purchased. Once that loads, choose the Artist you just downloaded, then the album, then click the cloud icon. This will download the music to your iPhone and will not charge you for it.
