My development app won't fully transfer to my iPad.

I try to sync my development app onto my iPad through iTunes and it gets stuck on the iPad saying it is installing with the icon shaded dark. It also continues to give the status as "installing" on iTunes on the computer. Earlier versions installed properly, but this one and the previous version won't install.

The most likely cause is that your iPad's ID (UDID) is not included in your mobileprovision file. You might need to add the UDID to the Devices section in the IOS Dev site and rebuild your mobileprovision file with that new device selected. Another possible cause is that your certificates are out of date.

  • App won't fully open to operate

Application opens, then a loading bar comes up and never stops... no text in the window so I have no idea what is trying to load.

My computer crashed and when it restarted, pages won't fully open. I get a window with a loading bar that just rolls. There is no text in it, so I have no idea what it is. I've tried trashing preferences, but that didn't work. I tried reinstalling without uninstalling and that didn't work. I think I really need to uninstall Pages, don't know how. I tried Yvan's script, but it didn't work... I get a syntax error.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!

Why didn't the contents of my iBook app on my iPhone transfer to my new iPad 3 when I synced the iPad in iTunes on my computer.? HELP PLEASE

Are all books and PDF files available in the iBooks app on your iPhone available in your iTunes library on your computer?

  • My 3rd party apps won't open. Please Help (Ipad Mini 6.1.3)

I have downloaded a 3rd party app, after using it for several weeks without interruption. It suddenly won't open (crashes) everytime I tried to open it. I have already tried on re installing the app, but nothing happened. Please help, I badly needed that app.

Try deleting the app, closing all apps in the recents tray, reboot the iPad, and then download the app again.
In order to cloase all apps - Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Close all of them. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    Download the app again.

  • Developer apps won't launch

For various reasons, I often copy applications from Developer folder (especially Property List Editor) to my Desktop. The copied application has always worked just fine. However, after updating to 10.6.6, it no longer works. I get an error message saying that it cannot open "because of a problem." The original copy in the Developers folder still works just fine.
Any idea what is going on?

Yep, apparently it is hard coded to load something absolutely necessary for it to run from here:
    /Developer/Library/PrivateFrameworks/PlistEdit.framework
And it seems the code is for a path relative to Plist Editor being here:
    /Developer/Applications/Utilities/Property List Editor.app
For what it's worth, copying the Leopard version of Plist Editor to Desktop works fine, but the Snow Leopard version 5.3 won't.

  • Sky App won't accept login on main iPad but will on iPhone and other iPad

I am unable to login to my Sky account on the Sky+ app on my iPad 2.  When I input my user name and password it seems to work, but going back into Settings, it still shows that I am not logged in.
    1) I can login OK on my iPhone and my other iPad 2 on the same app
    2) the iPad that won't work is a replacement for a faulty one that I just got yesterday
    3) I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app, reseting the iPad etc.
    4) I have restored the iPad as a new device and then , the app works OK and I can login
    5) if I restore from a backup, then the app doesn't work
    6) I have also tried logging off from all other devices in case only 1 login is allowed, but that made no difference.
The above suggests that I have some form of corruption in my backup, but I can't see why uninstalling/reinstalling the app wouldn't work.
Anyone got any bright ideas apart from restoring as new and reinstalling all apps?

Interesting - I am having the exact same problem on my iPhone4. I have restored the phone but restored it straight to a backup made a few minutes before restoring and the Sky app still does not work. I can login, but then when I go to settings it shows that I am not logged in, and if I try to record a programme the app just dies and I am returned to the springboard.
I will try a full reset and manually reinstall apps and settings etc and see if that works...

  • Apps won't all sync to new iPad

Bought new iPad 3 wanted to sync everything over from the old iPad 2. wanted everything to be EXACTLY the same from my old iPad 2. Instead, some apps failed to be transferred due to the computer not being authorized - I bought everything from the same iTunes account!!
AND, restoring from backup of the iPad 2, some apps failed to sync over to the new iPad 3. Thus I've deleted old Apps that I've got on my iTunes library so I can transfer all the purchase like a clean slate to the library from my old iPad 2 so it will go exactly as it is to the iPad 3. Yet it's not working - my old apps keep popping up in the sync page which have been entirely annoying. I've been doing the same thing over and over for the entire day now and it's been a frustrating process. How can Apple expect us to continuously purchase their new products if the migration process is so frustrating and time-consuming? This is NOT the way to go, Apple.
If anyone can provide a solution I would be so grateful.

your screenshot didn't load. Why aren't you using Time Machine, or Superduper or Carbon Copy Cloner? That is a better way to do it in the future.
I suspect you forgot to back something up. But what is the error? We can try and help.
Under itunes preferences, under the devices tab, does it list any devices? If so, you have backups and may be able to do a restore of the ipad.
    But don't do it yet.
    Post back.

  • DPS development app

We are using DPS apps for our company's capabilites (as apposed to the traditional powerpoint).
We send perspective clients an iPad with our capabilities app on it and we are getting quite a response.
Does anyone know if it is possible to share a development app to other team members and/or iPads?

    Yes it is possible.
If you have an DPS Enterprise account and iOS developer Enterprise license, you may create an Enterprise Signed Build and distribute the app within your organisation.
If you have a Pro or Single Edition, you would need to add and include UDID's (Upto 100) of your team members iPad's in your mobile provisioning file and then you may distribute the developer.ipa to them.

  • I had an app created by a friend and submitted under his name as the developer.  We need to transfer the app to me. I wanted to confirm the current proceedure for transferring ownership of an app.

I had an app created by a friend and submitted under his name as the developer.  He is no longer doing apps so we need to transfer ownership of the app to me under my name. I found an explaination from June 11, 2013 from The App Store team and wanted to confirm if this is the current proceedure. (see below) Thank you.
"Starting June 11, 2013 this has officially become possible. Here's the official note:
    Dear developer,
Apps can now be transferred from one developer to another within iTunes Connect, for example after an acquisition or when a distribution deal expires. Transferring the ownership of an app does not affect the app’s availability on the App Store. All ratings and reviews will be transferred and your customers will continue to have access to all available app updates.
To transfer an app, go to the app’s App Summary page in the Manage Your Applications module on iTunes Connect and click Transfer App. Make sure that:
    • Your account is active
    • You have accepted the most current version of your contracts
    • Your app has at least one approved version
    • Your app is in the Ready for Sale, Invalid Binary, Rejected, Developer Rejected, or Developer Removed from Sale state
    • Any associated In-App Purchases are in the Ready to Submit, Ready for Sale, Rejected, Developer Removed from Sale, or Approved state
    • You know the Apple ID of the recipient’s Team Agent and their Team ID.
For more information on app transfer, see the video tutorial on iTunes Connect. To find answers to common questions about app transfer, see the FAQ on iTunes Connect.
    Regards, The App Store team"

    What do you want?
    You have the procedure.
    Just do it.

  • Developer App Viewer Won't Install in Newsstand (Blacked Out)

    Hi everyone!
I'm trying to submit our first Digital Publishing Suite (Professional Edition) app to Apple and used the DPS App Builder to create a developer .ipa file so I can test out the app first on my iPad. I followed the steps in the "Step-By-Step Guide" Adobe provided and created the .ipa successfully.  However, when I install and sync my iPad, all I see in the Newsstand is our app "blacked out"--like an app looks when it's not installed all the way.  I tried installing it on another iPad and the same thing happened.  When I try to click on the app, nothing happens.
I've tried deleting it and reinstalling. I've rebuilt the app. I've gone from a subscription to multi folio.  Nothing works.  Maybe this only effects the developer app, but I'm not comfortable submitting to Apple if it doesn't work.
    Please help!

Yes, I did solve the issue.
I scorched earth, as it were, and deleted all of my certificates, profiles, push certificates, IDs....everything.  Then I started again from scratch, even made some new apps with the DPS builder.  After all that, it works and I could submit to Apple.
Now, down side.  I can't delete the original app from my iPad.  It just sits there blacked out. I can't find a way to get rid of it.  The new one works fine.

  • Iphone 4S apps won't open/run

Hi my phone has recently developed a problem where some of the apps won't open or run properly.
facebook for example even the appstore, when I open them I just get a 'loading' icon and nothing else.
Do I have to restore my phone to it's original settings? I really don't want to lose all my text messages etc.
    many thanks in advance.

If it's an Apple ID authentification problem this can be resolved by downloading and installing any free app.  Even though I doubt that's the problem it wouldn't do any harm to try.  If this doesn't resolve it, and it's only certain apps that are effected, try deleting these apps from your phone and reinstalling them.  You delete them by tapping and holding the app icon until it wiggles, then tap the x.  You can redownload them for free (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).
If it still persists, the next step is to restore your phone.  You can first try to do this from backup, which will preserve your currend settings and data.  Follow this guide to do this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414, taking care to back up your phone at step 6.  You will have the option to restore from this backup at the end.  You must sync your phone with iTunes after doing this to transfer your media (music, etc.) back to your phone.  If this doesn't work, then you will have to go through this process again, but restore your phone as new (since the backup contains the source of the problem).  Unfortunately, you will lose your current data and settings.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop app won't install error 207; Adobe server?

Is there a problem with some of Adobe.com servers? My employer just purchased a CC subscription for my work Mac, and the CC Desktop App won't install. I've restarted my Mac, quit all Adobe products, redownloaded the DMG file (creativecloudinstaller.dmg), and checked to make sure my firewall is off. But I still get an error message #207. My DNS servers are set to the same ones that other Macs in my group are set to, and they have CC on their Macs.
I don't know if it's related, but I can't load "adobe.com" in my browser, either. All other webpages are fine, including (obviously) this forum.
I am using OS 10.8.5, connected via Ethernet, and my browser is Chrome.

Thank you for your help, Ned. I also called Adobe help via phone, and he confirmed that my company's server needed to whitelist several Adobe sites. The company had revised their servers not long ago, and evidently did not transfer their old whitelists (which is why my coworkers had previously been able to access Creative Cloud). The phone support person emailed me a helpful list that I could forward to our company's tech support center—but the link you supplied in your response was also perfectly relevant.

  • Certain music pieces and apps won't download from my iPod to iTunes on my MacBook

I want to put what is on my iPod on my new MacBook, but certain pieces and apps won't download because my computer isn't authorized (so it will delete it from my iPod if I sync), but when it asks me to authorize it it uses an old Apple ID that doesn't exist anymore and to which I do not have access. Any ideas how to fix this? I just want to be able to sync my iPod with this computer without worrying about losing anything.

    Check out this article:
iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer
Read the "iTunes and App Store Content" section, especially the "Transferring purchased content" link there.
