Firefox keeps saying the connection is untrusted... I save the exception, yet it NEVER works, everytime I use the same websites I have to "save the exception" again! What can I do to stop this, I'm about to throw in the towel!

I used certain secured websites every day. And every day, I get the same old "connection is untrusted" messages, on every one of those websites. I do know the "add exception" thing, and I do add the exception for said websites... yet every time I start a new sessions, the exception hasn't been stored, and I have to do it all over again. It's getting really frustrating to use Firefox, since I am sick and tired of adding exceptions that aren't getting stored. I haven't added any new add-ons, only thing I have is Mc-Afee Site Advisor , and I had the same problem before I had to upgrade my Windows XP to Windows 7. One day it was working fine, then it started giving me trouble out of nowhere without new software or extension or anything being added. Nothing I've found online works, and I'm desperate for an answer.

My computer clock and date is correct and i have tested out all plugins that they are updated. Also did a scan on all viruses and spyware nothing there any help please.

You can see that the certificate is issued by your security software (Firewall): ESET SSL Filter CA 
So you will have to disable that filter or install the ESET root certificate that chains to that certificate.

FireFox is blocking many sites and says This Connection is Untrusted

many sites is blocked by firefox like facebook , yahoo mail and even this site.
its saying This Connection is Untrusted
and this sites working on other browsers
and i'm sure that the pc date is right and up to date

I have been having the same problem, chased my tail around for ages and then realised that my system clock was out of date because my laptop battery is toast.
I reset my clock to today's date and the certificate errors disappeared.

Rename the file cert8.db to cert8.db.old in the Firefox Profile Folder to remove all intermediate certificates that Firefox has stored by visiting secure websites. 
If that helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed file cert8.db.old unless you have user certificates that you may want to export first and import them in the new file. 
Otherwise you can restore the certificates by renaming (copying) the file back to cert8.db 
Firefox will automatically store new intermediate certificates when you visit websites that send them.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.

Why does my Firefox keep saying "not connecting"?

Hi,
I have Firefox for my Windows Vista (I believe the version is 20. I don't know precisely and don't know how to find it) and have had problems since last night. After I was up and running smoothly for about ten minutes, there was a message in the upper left hand corner of Firefox that said "not connecting" (or something along those lines). In the past, this would happen and I'd click "CTRL/ALT/DELETE" to close it out, reopen and everything would run fine. Now when I use those three keys, the computer eventually freezes. I contacted Geek Squad for assistance and the lady there claimed you all have had problems in the past couple weeks. Maybe I finally caught up with those problems (as this just happened last night and it's been happening all today)? Anyways, I'd like this resolved quickly. On my first call to Geek Squad, he advised me first to check for Windows updates and install them (there was one recommended to install and three optional ones. When I clicked to install the recommended one, it again froze with the "not connecting" message or whatever it says). Let me know how I can proceed on this issue. Thank you.

I keep getting a message that says "this connection is untrusted" whenever I try to access ANY website

I looked through the previous questions and deleted any suspicious software (there really wasn't any, just a bing toolbar). I deleted firefox and reloaded it. I bought Norton Antivirus and ran a scan - nothing. Date and time on my computer are correct. Explorer works fine. Help! I prefer firefox but I can't access ANY website. I get this message every time.

I already went through all the instructions on the Firefox support forum and nothing worked. The issue can't be the website certificate because it happens for EVERY SINGLE WEBSITE I attempt to access. Regardless, I did add an exception for Facebook per the instructions. That caused a strange, unformatted page to come up. I have since read that to do an exception is dangerous as it can cause MORE unwanted malware to infect the computer.
I did, however, figure it out on my own so maybe this will help people who are experiencing this problem in the future: After reading the past posts from people who experienced the same thing, I realized that in every case, the solution was to remove some sort of unwanted software (malware). I am very careful to NOT download software and I noticed that another victim of this said the same thing so this one is sneaky. I even bought new antivirus software (Norton), ran a scan and the problem was not found.
I went to Programs "uninstall programs," sorted them by date and removed anything that looked suspicious that was recent. I had something with the word, "rocket" in it. It looked like a game. There was also one other program that I removed (can't remember the name of it now). Removing those didn't solve the problem, so I went back through all the programs on my list and removed anything that said "toolbar" on it, even if it sounded trusted (I had a bing and a google toolbar). That didn't seem to work either so I sorted the programs by date again and I noticed that the "rocket" software was STILL THERE.
I right clicked on it and then clicked on "uninstall" again. It takes an exceptionally LONG time for that program to uninstall AND nothing shows up on the screen. The computer just sort of sits there and does nothing. I walked away and when I came back (about an hour later) the program was gone from the list.
Firefox works now. I'm not getting that message anymore, but here's the deal: I am not 100% sure which program was the problem. It was either that rocket software or one of the toolbars. Regardless, the answer always seems to be some sort of unwanted malware so I would recommend that any victim of this problem try uninstalling suspicious programs as a FIRST step. And that means ANY suspicious programs that are RECENT, regardless of whether they look like games or antivirus or whatever. If it's recent and you don't remember downloading it, uninstall it.

I know there is a whole article about this problem, but it did not help me to solve my problem. My computer date and time are right, I deleted Java, there is no SSL or anything like that on my computer. I even uninstalled Mozilla and then downloaded it again (losing all my bookmarks). The same problem persists. When I 'override' the message, for a page like Hotmail, it just goes blank and I can't access my email.

ok thanks!. yes, unfortunately the fiddler2.com issuer in certificates might be a sign of unwanted software present on your pc that is intercepting secure network traffic. please go into the system control panel and uninstall programs like BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard or other software that sounds suspicious and didn't get installed by you intentionally.
