My idiot brother uninstalled then reinstalled firefox over a week ago. Years worth of bookmarks were deleted.I tried Recuva and had no luck in finding them.HELP
Over a week maybe a month ago my brother had been using my laptop and some malware and virus type stuff got on it. Him thinking he knows everything decided he would look on google and bing for a possible fix. After downloading I have no idea how many different things to fix it. He finally deleted Mozilla Firefox. He chose to delete everything. And I need to know if there is anyway I can recover those bookmarks? I'm not computer savvy. I leave that to people who know them. So I hope I can get some help here. But I think I'm SOL and have no hope in saving the bookmarks that were deleted.
Did you check if you could recover the previous Firefox profile folder with Recuva?
You first need to do that and then try to recover the bookmarkbackups folder and a recent JSON backup.
Window usually doesn't reuse clusters quickly unless the hard disk space has been used up and NTFS keeps the full cluster chain and index (only marks this chain as deleted).

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

I want to uninstall and then reinstall Firefox but I can't uninstall it. Nothing happens when I click remove in program access and defaults and the helper.exe file in the firefox uninstall dir doesn't do anything either.
"program access and defaults" is not the place to remove programs in Windows. You need to go to the control panel and click on Add and Remove programs. For instructions on how to uninstall Firefox, see [[Uninstalling Firefox]]

Apparently, something went way wrong SOMEWHERE, SOMEHOW... and now I'm afraid of losing ALL MY MEDIA considering I have NO ITUNES ON MY LAPTOP! 2, by removing it from you synced from and re-syncing. Only photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad (either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view)
3, the location of the photos that you synced to the iPad should be listed on the iPad's Photos tab when connected to your computer's iTunes.

You should also be able to delete them from the iPad as part of the transfer process to your computer, and it's then your choice whether to add them to your sync photo list so as to copy them back to the iPad. 5, I don't use Dropbox either. There are some third-party browser apps in the iTunes App Store that allow you to download pages so that you can view them when offline e.g. Atomic Web (the whole page is saved within Atomic Web, it doesn't place a photo into the Photos app)
6, deleting content should help. If you remove an app from your iPad then you also remove the content that it's got on the iPad - so if you then decide to reinstall it back onto the iPad then you will need to manually add back any content that you want in it. None of the Apple built-in apps (including Photos) can be removed from the iPad -
I uninstalled firefox then reinstalled firefox. because I did not like a couple of add-ons that I wanted to remove. I thought I would still have all of my bookmarks. However, all my bookmarks were cleaned out with the new installed version. Then I tried to Repair Windows in System Restore to back track a few days in hope to recover the old version of firefox. It did not get back the old version and no bookmarks. I still get the new version with no bookmarks. Please advise me how to recover my bookmarks.

My XP laptop previously had Firefox installed, then uninstalled, then reinstalled but it will not open. I tried the recommended fixes but no go. It is fine in my XP PC.

I uninstalled firefox a few weeks ago and now want to reinstall it. When I install it it downloads fine and runs, it extracts up to 100% then othing happends so it doesn't install.
It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading and installing work. -
We tried uninstalling , tyen reinstalling Firefox, but we still get the error message that Firefox is running, and the PC won't open the browser.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

My ipad is not being seen by itunes in Windows 7. I uninstalled then reinstalled itunes it started working for a while then it stopped. I get a message stating that the device is not recognized or the device is defective replace device. Anyone have a fix.
At present I have no power to the Gen 7, so need to get some power to it I think. I pressed the buttons as you suggested, but nothing is showing up at this point. Thank you for your response as the more I can rule out before I take it back the better I think.

I accidently deleted bonojur and now what music is on my iphone is not transferring to my itunes library. I can't get the most recent version of itunes unless I sync my library and iphone which would mean all my music on my iphone being deleted. Itunes says when I try to get the recent version that I should transfer my purchases but when I I click okay it doesn't work. I have tried uninstalling then reinstalling itunes which has also reinstalled bonjour but I still can't get my music from my iphone onto my library...help!
None of that worked but I sat on it for almost 5 hrs and tried the last option of setting up my iPhone as NEW instead of restoring it from a backup that I created through my Indian bought iOS devises. And that solved the problem. So looks like I cannot backup my old settings. But was able to get my aps and contacts recognized through cloud.
And just in case I also updated the iTunes later. Everything works perfect now. Thanks for your thoughts too. -
My photoshop is now not acting right. Can I uninstall then reinstall it?
I updated my photoshop and now it freezes when I try to do several things. One is to convert to black and white in application. If it's not freezing, it's cropping the far right side of the photo off. Can I uninstall then reinstall the program?

Lightroom does not open.. I uninstalled then reinstalled LR CC to no avail; I signed out of Creative Cloud I signed back in... NOTHING... NADA!!
I know it is headache to go through same process again.
Open Preferences folder and move all Lightroom prefernces file to Desktop.
Make sure that not even single Light room prference files like com.adobe.lightoom.plist...etcare there inside Preferences folder.
Then reboot the computer and Sign out from Creative Cloud and Sign in and then try to Launch Ligthroom CC 2015 application , by double clicking on Lightroom cc 2015 option under Apps list in Creative Cloud application" .
Still same issue ??
Remove Lightroom cc application and the reinstall the same from Creative Cloud.
Then try launching Lightroom cc 2015 from Apps list in CC app.
Still same issue?
