I don't know how wide spread this issue is. I've only come across the thread I posted before.

I wouldn't wait for an update from Apple.
I have several other wireless devices (laptop, iPod touch, blackberry) which have absolutely no problems at all.
Since it's just the iPad wi fi issue, try restoring as new.

You may have an app installed that's causing problems with your Wi Fi. After you restore as a new device, sync 5 apps at a time, then test the Wi Fi on the iPad. Keep syncing apps... you might find a culprit.
Scanning the Internet there seems to be lots of other people having this problem.

    Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
    Verify the issue is not content related, by viewing different content.
    If the image is too dark, adjust the brightness. In General Settings choose Brightness and Wallpaperand slide the slider.

    Sign in with the correct user name and password for the iCloud account.
    This has nothing to do with them being "in sync".
    iCloud and iTunes accounts, which are simply Apple ID's, cannot be merged.  There is no way to merge Apple ID's.  If you chose to set up the device using one Apple ID for iTunes and another for iCloud, then that's the way it is.
    Alternatively, you could sign into iCloud with the same ID that is used for iTunes.  Whether this creates problems or not depends on how you currently have iCloud set up.

    I installed map viewer for web logic 10g a few days ago.
    The instructions suggested that I deploy the map viewer on
    a different domain than the one that I am currently running.
    I created a new domain and successfully deployed map viewer
    on it. Now when I start up web logic under:
    C:\bea\user_projects\domains\MapViewerDom\MapViewerDom\bin\startWebLogic.cmd
    Where "MapViewerDom" is my new domain the server starts up then
    stops to ask me my admin user ID and password.
    I went into the admin console for this domain and THOUGHT
    that I preset the admin User ID and password so that the prompting
    would disappear but it did not.
    What am I supposed to do to stop web logic from prompting me for these
    credentials ?
    Also.
    How can I make sure that my web logic domain is always up even if the
    machine is rebooted ?

    Navigate to
    C:\bea\user_projects\domains\MapViewerDom\servers\AdminServer in this directory you will find the boot.properties.
    1)Rename it
    2)Open a notepad in that type the following contents
    username=your_username
    password=your_password
    3)save the file with name boot.properties.
    4)when the server boots it checks for this particular file for the username and password
    5)However once you start the server it will not be in the text format the contents of that file willl be encrypted

    It it's only happening on one specific account, that means something about that account is causing the problem. Sounds obvious, right? But the implications and how to fix it aren't necessarily obvious.
    It's not likely to be third-party kernel extensions causing the problem, since those will run for all user accounts. If it's a third-party software issue, it's going to be something that is running on just that account. First place to check is your login itmes (System Preferences -> Accounts). Remove items you don't need from that list, and if that doesn't help, remove ALL items from that list.
    If that still doesn't help, there's one other thing to check. There are things called LaunchAgents that can be used to keep specific tasks running (possibly re-opening them if they crash or are made to quit by the user), run them at specific times, etc. In the Finder's Go menu, hold down the option key and choose Library. In that folder, find the LaunchAgents folder. What's in there? You can move all the items there temporarily to a folder on the desktop (or anywhere else), then log out and log back in. Does that fix the problem?
    Of course, it sounds like the account you're using may be so badly messed up that you can't perform these checks. And the problem may not be third-party software anyway, it could be something that has gotten badly corrupted in your user account, and that can be difficult or impossible to pin down. If you have another admin account that you can use, it may be easiest to simply start using that account, and delete the one that's not working.     Also, regardless of what the problem is and how you solve it, since one possibility is some kind of corruption, it wouldn't be a bad idea at all to repair your hard drive with Disk Utility.

    I have an iMac with OS X Lion 10.7.5,an iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1.2 and an iPad with iOS 7.1.2. all software is up to date. My problem is I do not receive all my e-mail on all 3 devices all the time. I seem to get them on my phone , but not all show up on my iMac or iPad.     On the iPhone, go into Settings -> Store and turn off "Automatic Downloads" for Apps (and Music and Books, if you wish). You can also do that on the iPad to prevent it from going in the opposite direction.
    That will stop any automatic downloading... to prevent them from coming over when using iTunes, select the phone (under Devices), Apps, and then uncheck "Automatically sync new apps." Again, do the same for the iPad if you wish.

    I was in the exact same situation. I completed the order online, waited five days, and eventually called them back to be told that my order was still processing. I told them to cancel it, and I would retry. I ordered it again the next week, and it all happened again. They offered to escalate it and have it processed manually, but it could take another 48 hours. I told them to forget it.
    The next week, I activated a single line on my own account. It worked flawlessly. I ordered around 4:00 PM, and it showed up around 4:00 PM the next day. The difference was that I activated a single line on a new account, as opposed to activating another line on another account.
    It was a headache, and believe me, I know how you feel. Verizon representatives are more of a headache than they are actual help. Their hands are always tied, and everything has to be escalated.

    Because Yahoo is messed up. I suspect you have Yahoo mail in your Mail app. Go to settings>Mail>Yahoo and reenter your Yahoo password. You may have to reset the password.

  • IPad 4 asks for User Name and Password to access home wi-fi network

    I have the iPad 4, which occasionally fails to connect to my home network and will ask me for both an User Name and Password to access my home wireless network. I have no idea what would constitute an User Name and I have tried the name of the network and other options to no avail. When I close down the iPad and take it closer to my Wi-Fi Router (BT Home Hub 3) then switch back on it asks for the password only as normal and all is well. What concerns me is this only happens on the occasional basis, but I am trying to access the router from exactly the same place.
    Is there a fault with the wireless function on the iPad? I have contacted Apple Support by telephone and they were very helpful to be fair, but they had not come across this issue before.
    Has anyone experienced anything like this and could advise me? My other option would be to email Apple Support, but I cannot find an email address for Apple Technical Support UK.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

  • When I try installing Firefox 6.0 from the binary file, a box with "Run As" in the type field appears, which asks me for user name and password. Please advise about the course of action that I should take.

    Trying to run it as the current user, or as one from a different account(administrator in this case) also doesn't work.

    I think the client is not able to do a HTTP POST
    to the WLS server but it can do a HTTP GET.
    I dont know why.

    I switched from CenturyTel to Charter. I can't use Firefox because a box appears asking me for Authentication Required, User Name and Password. When I hit cancel, this message appears:
    HTTP 401 - Unauthorized
    Authorization is required to access the configuration server.
    You must enter the correct username and/or password.
    When I called Charter, they told me they recommended using Internet Explorer. I told them I didn't want IE, I preferred Firefox. They recommended I go to your support page, so here I am. :o)

    Have you reset the password recently for the email account?
    A real simple fix usually is to delete the mail account (settings < mail contacts calendars, tap the affected account and choose delete at the bottom) Then re add the account.
