My iPad2 charges slowly with wall charger, is that normal?

It charges 40% in 3 hours, is that right?

Well, Apple says about 2 hours to charge to 80% and then another 2 hours to 100%--if you're not using it.

I thought mine was charging slowly tonight--about 60% in maybe 2 1/2 hours--but I hadn't read the if you're not using it part and I was watching baseball. :-) Apparently I should try to charge it when I'm not using it . . . But I've had trouble putting it down!

If it charges when connected to a computer USB, it can't be the phone. Try a different cable.

1) authorize iTunes on your wife's user account for her iTunes store account(s)
2) connect the device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred her purchases in the previous step, your content will be in her library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

The iphone 4 (not 4s) shows that it is charging, but the numbers are going down not up. So I replaced the cable and that fixed it. That was kind of weired that it showed as if it were charging when in fact it was not. The Brick is fine, it was the cable. I should note it was a third party cable. Did Apple do a change where as they wont work with 3rd party cables, I had a longer cable, but am back to the original 3 footer?

I've run diagnostics. Can't find device. I've tried resetting. The toggle has been turned on and off.

Cable works fine on my other iPod. Reset by pressing menu and center button together for 6-10 seconds. Left it to charge for many hours. Started acting up while running. Suddenly the music stopped playing but my Nike + was still working for the rest of my run. Took it straight it home and plugged it in to the wall to recharge since the battery was fairly low. Looked like it recharged ok but then screen went blank and now does it not show up on iTunes, does not seem to recharge by the wall charger (apple wall charger plugged into a surge protector in India). I have turned the hold switch off and on many times.
Sounds like a repair issue, which is not easy to do in India :(

Have you tried another cable?
Look at the dock connector. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

M9 Very Slow Charging Even With Quick Charge 2.0 Chargers

I have a continuing problem with very slow charging even with Quick Charge 2.0 chargers. For example last night I had the M9 plugged into a fast charger for over 12 hrs and it went from 5% battery to 87%. I checked the Settings - Battery usage history - and it displays "NO APPLICATIONS FOUND" - very strange...
Something is very wrong. I have multiple 2 amp and quick chargers all with poor charging times. I have tried each of these:

The Ampere app displays varying charger power from 15 mA to 880 mA so I don't think it is accurate.
Testing with multiple chargers point to the problem in the M9. This is maddening. Seriously considering returning the M9.

Try a Reset of the Phone... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Phone Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
Turn the Phone On...

My ipad2 only charges with the usb plug. It does not charge with the wall charger, My wife's ipad2 does charge with the same wall charger.

Your iPad may have a defective cable. Try your Wife's and see it it makes a difference.
I don't know if iPod and iPhone cables are compatible with iPad, but could you have switched by accident?

My iPod will no longer charge with a wall charger, only the computer. I know it's not becuase of the wall piece or my cord, since I also use the same cord for computer charging, and the wall piece seems to work with others devices. It worked a couple of weeks ago, then suddenly quit. I think it may be something to do with the inside of my iPod where the charger goes. I find it really inconvient to always have to use the computer to charge my iPod. I believe I have a three year warrenty on my iPod, but I wouldn't think it would cover this problem. Is there anything I can do to fix it?
