My iphone 5's touch screen does not work, the lock screen button broke not long back so now i am not able to use my phone as i have tryed to connect to itunes to reboot my phone however i am unable to enter passcode so it is not possible. any advice?

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

If you can't get past the lock screen when you slide to unlock, try rebooting your iPad and then try again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

i had a problem with my wifes iphone 4s, today morning while travelling to work i changed a setting on repeat option and changed it to repeat artist, it was fine until when i finish my work and on my way back i found songs are not playing anymore, lots of stop signs next to my song list, play/pause button not working, album arkwork keep moving from one to another on its own, so after i reach home i try to do some research on Apple support communities, try to soft reset my phone closing all the apps on background didnt work, also note that control centre music player was not working as well. none of the solutions worked. after trying for two hours i found out that the trouble is in repeat options , so i changed it from repeat artist to repeat off. and the music start playing as usual, but i still have those stop buttons next to the songs i tried to play earlier. At least it fixed temporarily. please also note that in the meantime i tried to sync my phone with the pc and suddenly its start syncing all the songs again assuming there were no songs on my iphone. so guys i think soft reset might not help all the time but try to remember what settings you changed recently and change it back to the original option, not sure ,but it might help. -
My iPad is disabled and I can not input my passcode. what do i need to do? I tried to connect to iTunes, but it will not allow me to connect via compute USB as I cannot input my passcode for the iPad.

Control center and camera not working on lock screen
On the lock screen my control center or camera sometimes doesn't pull up! Also the touchscreen doesn't work sometimes while just using the phone like when typing or in a game. I've tried resetting it and restarting it! Is this a software bug? Will there be an update To fix this?

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the touchscreen does not respond sometimes and control center doesn't come up. I would recommend that you read these articles, they may be helpful in troubleshooting your issue.

As I stated in the title, when I'm using the phone (sometimes during heavy use, sometimes when I'm doing nothing, and sometimes just swiping in from the start screen to view a notification) the screen will freeze (very short period, under half a second) then switch back to the start screen (black with the stylized Apple logo). Shortly after, about the same time it takes on startup, it goes to the lock screen and opens the number pad to enter my code. After that, everything works fine as if nothing had ever happened. All the apps still run fine, and I haven't lost any data.
Admittedly, it is merely a small annoyance since it has only happened a handful of times (5-10 since purchase), but it shouldn't be happening, and I'm somewhat worried that it is an indicator of a potentially more severe problem.

Also, this happened on iOS 6 and 6.0.1I have noticed this and so has my brother, but just when swiping in from a notification on the home screen, and both when they were photos sent via Messages.
We both had iPhone 4's and have seen it happen a coupld of times.
I've just moved to an iPhone 5, but not long enough to see it happen yet.

Camera button not working from locked screen.
Recently I tried to take a photo from my locked screen. Usually I just double click my home button and the camera pops right up and I can take a picture. This time though, the camera icon does pop up, but when I go to click it the camera icon just "jumps" and will not open the camera option. It's very annoying for when I just want to take a picture, now I have to go through the motion of unlocking my phone and going to the camera. OH, also on the locked screen, the camera icon has two lines, both over and under it.
How can I fix this, is it in the settings somewhere?Touch the camera icon and scroll all the way up. You do not have to double click the home button.

Drop down notification not working during lock screen
Hello, I just switched over from the iPhone and I wasn't sure if there was a trick to it. But when I'm in the lock screen and I swipe down nothing happens. My drop down notifications won't work. Is this normal on a Sony phone? I'm using a c6906. Android 4.2.2 and the build number is 14.1.g.2.257

Go to Solution.silly question but what lock screen are you using? Maybe it has to do with a more secure lock screen than the simple swipe... my assumption is that if youre using a pincode, it wont let you swipe down notifications since youve opted for a more secure form of security.
Yes ive tested it. if youre using a pin or a pattern it wont let you show the notification pannel Great security imho ;P i anyway dont bother with key locks.. if anyone wants to get at your phone they will.. simple as.. its a deterent sure.. but most folks that bother with phone theft know how to get around it...

How to make configurator not change the lock screen
i manage about 300 ipad mini's for a school district and i use apple configurator once a month to manually update the ios and apps on the ipads. i have a grade level that uses pictures of the kids for the lock screen to identify whose ipad is whose. the issue is when i plug them into configurator to update them it always resets this lock screen, how can i make it so that the lock screen is not effected? All of my ipads are supervised, and i do not have the option of removing the supervision from that grade level.
If the phone is locked the only call you can place is to 911 (or its local equivalent) without unlocking it. You can also take a picture, but not review other photos.

Why doesn't the camera work the lock screen sometimes?
When I launch the camera app from the lock screen on my iphone (4), one of three things happens.
Sometimes the preview is really small, like this

this doesn't affect the actual size of the pictures however. Meaning if I take a picture while it's like that then swipe over to look at it, it is the normal size. I have also found that this part can be fixed by switching the the front camera then back to the rear camera.
The second thing that could happen is that the animation of the lens opening will freeze while it's still closed, meaning I can't see anything besides the closed lens picture.
The third thing that could happen is that it works fine.
These problems only seem to happen when I launch the camera from the lock screen as I have never had anything like that happen when I use the app after unlocking my phone.
Any help is greatly appreciated.That is a new one. I haven't seen that before. You might have a hardware problem. Also may want to try to restore the phone and see if that fixes the problem. Also have you restarted the phone by holding the home button and the sleep/wake switch ignoring the swipe to power off message and then powering up the phone again?
