Your photos are in the iPhoto Library, not in the iPhoto application, and the iPhoto Library should be in the Pictures folder.  Is your iPhoto Library there? Did you migrate it to your new MacBook, or are your photos missing?
The iPhoto Library in your Pictures folder should be showing an icon like a fan of pictures:

Have made back up, but unfortunately a little too late. What to do?

    1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?

When upgrading my Mac from  OS X Snow Leopard, to OS X Mavericks, The installer displayed my parallel and my PC applications. How can i get them back?

You either have to restore the Snow Leopard backup you made prior to installing Mavericks, or create a separate Snow Leopard partition to boot to in order to run your older PowerPC applications.
Either that, or upgrade the apps which won't run in Mavericks to newer versions that do.

  • If I create a smart folder in iPhoto, and then delete it, are the pictures gone?

I am still trying to figure iPhoto out. I just created a "Smart Folder" and it imported some of my photos. I decided to delete that folder. Did that delete the pictures or are they still somewhere else in iPhoto or on my computer? Thanks!

    several issues with your question
1 - there is no such thing as a smart folder in iPhoto
2 - folders in iPhoto can not hold photos and it is not possile to import photos into them
3 - there are smart albums - deleting a smart album has no effect on the photos - the "contents" of the smart album are simply pointers to the photos in your library that meet the criteria - deleting the album has no effect on the photos themselves
4 - as the contents of a smart album is the photos that meets the criteria it is no possible to import photo into a smart album
5 - it is helpful to know what version of iPhoto you have
So please ask with correct terms since we can not see you or your computer and can only help based on wha tyou tell us

  • Iphoto is no longer on my desk top. How can I get it back?

iPhoto is no longer on my desktop. Not sure how it went away but is there a way I can get it back?

    Look in your Applications Folder.
To get it back: depends on what version you had, and what version of the OS too.

The message box you are seeing is a standard message that is always displayed when Captivate detects that you've added a link in your project to a file
outside the project.  Even after you HAVE copied the PDF into the publish folder, this message will continue to display at each publish. If you know the file is in the correct place, just ignore it.
Another issue I've spotted when looking at the name of the PDF is that you seem to have spaces in the name.(BBO User Guide.pdf)  This is likely to break the link in an HTTP LMS web environment.  Make sure you either eliminate the spaces or use underscore characters instead.

  • I just updated my iPad, now I no longer have the YouTube application. How do I get it back.

Once I updated my iPad with the iOS 6 update, I lost my YouTube app. How do I get it back?

YouTube was removed for their new app (only iPhone available right now), but you can access their page through Safari as it is optimized for iPad. Ipad App is not out yet, still waiting myself!
After you have it running in Safari, just click the arrow icon to ADD TO HOME SCREEN to make a quick shortcut with easy access to the link.

  • When I disconnect my camera, it still appears in iphoto and i can't import the pictures

I have been successfully downloading images from my camera into iPhoto.....until recently.  For whatever reason, when I plugged the camera and clicked to import, I got a message saying that it was unable to import the images.  Then when I unplugged the camera, the device icon did not go away and dashed outlines of the images remained.  When I shut down and restart iPhoto, the icon and these dashed image outlines remain.  I have been able to connect the camera to another Mac and the images download fine.  It seems like something has been corrupted on my machine and I need a way to clear it.  I am using a MacBook Air running Leopard 10.6.8.  To the best of my knowledge nothing has changed.

    Try trash the following file
    com.apple.ImageCaptureNotifications.DeviceDiscoveryDatabase.501
    from HD/Library/ Caches
    and restart your mac.

  • I had to wipe my mac clean but not my iPhoto is gone and so are my pics?  how do i get it back

I had a problem with the internet on my mac and had to take my mac in and they wided the device clean.  I lost my iphoto if I redownload iphoto is there a sign in where my photos are stored?

You wiped your drive and have no backups, so all your data are gone. Lesson learned: always have backups BEFORE you start wiping drives or deleting files.
    General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as MAC Data Recovery, Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro.  Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.  Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk.  Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads. Recovery software usually provide trial versions that enable you to determine if the software would help before actually paying for it. Beyond this or if the drive has completely failed, then you would need to send the drive to a recovery service which is very expensive.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

  • After having my Mac serviced my iphoto was put on a remote hard drive.  How to I get it back on my Mac?

I recently had my Mac OS X serviced and they took everything off of it and put it on a remote hard drive.  I can't figure out how to install it back onto my Mac.  I tried dragging and dropping.  Didn't work.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks so much!  Lenore

With iPhoto, are you referring to the app or to your iPhoto library? If you are referring to the app, disconnect your external drive, open the App Store, go to Purchases tab and download the most recent iPhoto version free of charge

  • My iMac got infected and in cleaning it I lost my iPhoto application.  How can I get it back?  DO I need to buy it?

I have OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2 on my desktop.  Recently it got infected with a bug and I had to get it cleaned up, but somehow my iPhoto application was lost.  How can I get the application back on my computer?  Do I have to buy it?

Reload it from the original source. If you got it with the computer, that will either be the computer's original disks or the Mac App Store depending on what its original OS was.

  • TS1702 Just had to have my iMac reinstalled due to a fault. Now OK, but I have lost iMovie, iPhoto and pages which i had already purchased. How do I get them back ?

How do i get Imovi, Iphoto, and pages back after have to reinstall my operating system due to a fault ?

If you bought them from the Mac App Store then they should show in the Purchases tab in the Mac App Store app on your Mac. If they were pre-installed then you might be better off asking the iMac or Mavericks forums, this forum is for questions about the iTunes store.

  • The tools drop down menu does not have the options "button?" or whatever it is called. So, how do I get it back or better yet... where is it? 14.1.0 mac

I am on a Mac. I am running Firefox 14.0.1 In the tools drop down menu, there is no options button. where is it or how do i restore it to the tools menu?

Thanks for the reply, but I didn't understand it. As you can tell, I am not very good with computer jargon. So, I have to be walked through every step.
Still, I think you were not trying to answer my Tools/option question so much as tell me how to do something else. On this, I could be incorrect.

  • I accidentally deleted iMovie, how do I get it back? I don't know where to find the recover discs everybody is talking about.

I really can't find/ figure out where the discs that people recomended- please help.

If it came with Lion or later pre-installed, then re-download it from your App Store purchases. If your computer came with Snow Leopard or earlier then it is on one of the original discs that came with the computer. If you don't have them you can purchase replacements from Apple:
