My ipod broke and all my songs were bought on my itouch how can i get the songs if it doesnt even turn on?

i have the first generation ipod touch and the place on my ipod where you charge it broke so you can not plug it in. i bough almost all of my songs on my itouch and just got a new computer and was going to put all my songs onto my new laptop but the charging place wont let me do it. my ipod is not charged so i cant use it and i bought alot of money's worth of songs and there and can not afford to buy all the songs again. i just got a new ipod but i need to get my old songs onto my itunes. how can i get my songs back?

Doesn't matter if the laptop is new, your account is not new.
Download iTunes 10.3.1 (current) when installed click on the 'purchased' link in the sidebar then click on 'download previous purchases' (lower lefthand corner of page) and download them again.

You can't unless (assuming you have the Apple TV 1) you remove the drive and connect it to a computer.

The problem is: I never had the compatible versions. But I want them, I'd buy them if I could.
So I'm stuck with my Ipod, which can't be upgraded anymore to higher IOS versions, and with the appstore, that does not offer older versions; versions that have existed and still exist, perhaps in the recycle bin of some users, or somewhere in the appstore servers.
I know, its a policy, just to sell more devices. Will not work with me. I'm not buying more Ipods

Thanks for the question. You may need to configure the outgoing mail server for the account. The following resource will outline how to navigate to these settings, however instead of adding a server, you’ll then want to update the settings with your correct username and password:

Press-hold the Home button (big circle below the screen) and the Sleep/Wake button (on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.

If the photos were i your iPod's Camera Roll album (taken by or saved to the iPod you can:
- If your PhotoStream is on you can get the last 30 days worth back. See that topic here:

- Or you can restore from backup if you backed up when the photos were on the iPod.
If the photos were synced to the iPod then you have to get them from where you got them the first time.

- A restore will delete apps, music and other media from the iPod. If the media is in the iTunes library then a restore from backp will restore the media and after a restore to factory defaults/new iPod you can sync the media back to the iPod.

Restore it in iTunes on your computer.
There is a difference between registering with Apple and using it with iTunes. To register it (which isn't necessary) you would have to get the previous owner to de-register it.

IMac stopped recognizing my Internet connection (ethernet) after announcing an IP address conflict (all of a sudden, after 6 years). How can I get the whole network settings part back to default and start over?

Since that time, no matter if I plug it into one router or the other (I use a router in my office to share the one ethernet cable that comes down the hall) it claims that the ethernet is working and it knows that it is connected to the Internet,but it cannot access the Internet. IT seems to be stuck in a cycle of navel-gazing, constantly focused on its own ethernet IP address.
All I know how to do is operate the thing; we have no IT person here. A visitor set up our network for us a few years ago. Only the iMac has this problem; my PC laptops go online just fine. But all my work is on the iMac.

First thing to try is renewing the DHCP lease.
System Preferences > Network.
Do you have a green dot next to Ethernet? If so, with ethernet selected in the left pane;
Check the location is set to 'automatic'
Check 'configure IPv4' is set to DHCP
Click the 'Advanced' button
Check that DHCP is selected in that window for IPv4
Turn off IPv6 (gives a conflict on some routers)
Click the button 'renew DHCP lease'
That should persuade the router to give you a different IP.

If you've turned on "Find my iPhone" on the device you can track its location at iCloud. The device must be powered on and have internet access to be located.
Doubtful you ever backed up your "camera roll" to iCloud but you may have backed it up to your computer via iTunes. You can "restore" that backup to your new iOS device but you can't view the contents of that backup and pick out pieces of it.
