My ipod nano volume limit?!

Well, my ipod nano second generation has very low volume. Even set to full under settings and normal, its not even as loud as my old mp3 player.
But my mates ipod is very loud when he turns it up, is there a reason why mine dosn't play sounds loud?

I checked the headphones on his and there is no problem with those.

My iPod nano was bought from US and it was loud enough when needed but after the latest software update, the volume levels went down. So, I guess I got the EU package and that explains the change.

Ipod nano volume limit locked

I think the kids have set a combination code on the volume limit of my iPod Nano. Can I get it off and how? If I have to do some kind of reset can I re-sync my playlists from my iTunes library? Have over 1000 songs on and would hate to have to import/purchase again.

Restore your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation. IPOD NANO VOLUME LIMIT

HELP...I got a 3rd Gen Nano for Christmas...I NEVER put a combo number into the volume limit...and now it won't let me turn the volume up...it says wrong combo..but I never put one in so of course I don't know what it is. Does anyone know how to RESET the control??? I've tried doing the reset..but it doesn't clear the volume limit.

Thanks, I will try that....someone else told me I have to bring it in to the Apple Store....which I may have to do anyway....has anyone heard of the battery recall??? I saw it on the news...apparently the lithium batteries could cause a fire.

Nano Volume Limit Code?

Hi,
I bought a Nano 8gb two days ago. The Volume Limit is already set and there is no indication as to the default code. I have tried restoring factory settings, and using the '0000', '9999' and '1234' combinations.
Why is this already set and what is the default combination?

NANO volume limit BROKEN HELP!!!

When I try to increase my volume level when listening to a song it will stop increasin in volume when i go past the half way mark. I figured this was down to the volume limit issue but when i fixed that with the help of the mac article it didnt improve. I restored the nano too and no luck. ITS drivin me insane ever since the last ipod update its been like this and it seems like i've tried everything! PLEEEASSSEE if anyone knows how to fix it i'll be eternally greatful THANKS!!!

When you go to Settings-->Volume limit there is no limit set (the blue triangle on the bottom of the volume bar is all the way to the right)?

Ipod Nano Volume level

Hi, I have got an Ipod Nano 2nd Generation and use earphone that sit on your ears not in ears as I find them uncomfortable. The only problem with this is that I find that the volume is not very loud, I have it on the maximum, I know there is a volume limit set on all mp3 players but does anyone know if there is any way of making it louder?

At this point, the software people with iPods purchased in EU countries were using to remove the cap do not work on the 2nd gen nano. No word on when it will. So other than maxing your volume limiter and trying more expensive earphones there really isn't anything you can do right now.

My 6th generation ipod nano volume adjusts itself and turns down volume without me touching it. This is the second ipod on which this has happened. I can't be the only one with this problem. Help!

My ipod nano 6th generation has started changing the volume while music is playing. It doesn't matter whether I am running or sitting. It will turn volume down to zero in the middle of a song. This happened on my last ipod a few months ago and I returned it and got a new one. This is my second grey one. I don't want to have to return it again, but I might.

Ipod nano volume want work.

I have a ipod nano 6th generation, the down volume doesn't work. the sound goes up until it gets to it max.

Make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store and pay $75 USD for an out-of-warranty replacement.

My iPods volume limit is on & stuck on half way & won't move.tried restoring factory settings but no joy.

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that points to a hardware problem. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

IPod Nano - volume not working

My 3rd generation Ipod Nano's volume stopped working after a software update. I have tried the 5 Rs: Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall, Restore
1. I checked the head-phones
2. I tried resetting my iPod.
3. I removed and reinstalled itunes to my computer.
4. I finally restored my Ipod Nano to it's original settings and the volume still does not work.

Try restarting your device. If that doesn't work, take it to an Apple store. If it is less than a year old and just stopped working, they will replace it for free (be sure to back it up to iTunes first). If you dropped it, you will have to pay because Apple will not replace a device due to "Human Error." If it is more than a year old, you will either have to pay to get it fixed, or have to pay to get it replaced.

6th Generation ipod nano volume problem!

When I'm listening to music on my 6th generation ipod nano the volume gets super loud without my doing anything!! Can anyone help me with this????

Ipod shuffle volume limit

I have a first generation ipod and when i got itunes 7 i got a volume limit too. software is 1.1.4 for shuffle. After i set the volume limit i came back today and there was no box for it in settings, so i cant turn it off or adjust it. My ipod still does the volume limit and this is no help because when there is any other noise it's almost impossible to hear since vol limit is so low.

Ipod nano volume control

I have an ipod nano, and I was messing with my ipod in my pocket and somehow locked my volume control so it will only go up so loud. I've tried going under "Volume lock" in the "Settings" area, but its asking for a combination and I don't know what it is, any suggestions how to take the lock off or find out what my combination is? 6th gen iPod Nano volume keeps going down on its own

It's been getting worse lately. It started happening towards the end of each of my run, but now even when I leave it on my desk, I can see the volume just move down on its own to zero. It is very unreliable and during long runs, I have to keep battling with the volume (it goes down on its own, and I have to bring it back up again). Shutting the iPod Nano off and turning it back on doesnt help.
Anyone else encounters this? What should I do? My iPod Nano is about 1 year old.

This issue is usually the result of the Nano coming into contact with moisture (likely from your workouts). Try putting the iPod into an uncooked bag of dried rice and leaving it sit for a few days. This should absorb any moisture in the iPod.
After the few days are up, give it another whirl. If the problem persists, connect the Nano to iTunes and restore it to factory settings.
Otherwise, the damage may be permanent, meaning you'll need to have your iPod serviced or replaced.
