My iPod touch 4th gen white's home button doesn't work the first time I press it, but the second time.
My home button doesn't work the first time I press it, but the second time. This is very annoying. Why is it doing this?
- Try a reset. It cures many ills and nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

1st Gen. iPod touch wont turn on. Home button doesn't work. Can't reset.
Hi there. My 1st generation iPod touch wont turn on. The battery has drained completely, and the few times this happened in the past, I could just reset it by holding the home and top buttons, the iPod would turn on, I could plug it in, and then it would charge--no problems. However, now the home button does not work, so I cannot reset it. When I plug it in to the charger, the Apple logo appears for about 20 seconds, then disappears. Also, if I hold the top button for about 2 seconds, the same thing happens (Apple logo appears for about 20 seconds, then disappears). So, it doesn't turn on, wont reset due to the home button not working, and can't connect to the computer or iTunes. However, it still has some life in it because the Apple logo always appears when it's plugged in or when I hold the top button. Can anybody help? Thanks.

If the iPod still has its original battery, it could be that the battery finally bit the dust. -
any other way of resetting? I need all of my data that was on it before.
Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Hope this helps. Good luck. Cheers.

on my itunes library my albums are all sorted but when i put onto my ipod touch (4th Gen) it seems to duplicate i have checked everything and there are no spaces in the information my question is how do isort it because these things drive me mad i would be most gratefully if you could find a way to help
thatnksNever mind, got it to work. I stumbled around on Google for a while and somehow ended up reading things from the 'jailbroken' community. They had easy instructions to get out of Recovery mode. Thanks anyway though!
P.S. For anyone who experiences this, here is the fix: Hold Power and Home in unison for 6 seconds, then power on as normal. -
I have attempted to sync my new iPod touch 4th gen. with my current PC running Windows XP and everytime I attempt it I get the dreaded blue screen, here are the error codes- 0x0000007E; 0XC00000005; 0X00000000; 0XBA51B7C8; 0XBA51B4C4 any suggestions?

im going to restore my ipod touch(4th gen) to factory settings. my question is, how do i back up all notes from the app "notes" so they can be reinstalled? or is it allready backed up as per the main "back-up" ? I know its a simple question, but i dont know the answer. please help.
The iPod backup that iTunes makes includes Notes.and other app data. However, it does not included synced media like apps and music.
Thus, just restore from backup with all your synced media in your iTunes library.

Help. My home button doesn't work. I've to press it several times to get it to function. The phone has 4 months. I've already update software, restarted and calibrated it. I was thinking to go to the service. Has 1 year hardware warranty. Suggestions?
There's another thread with similar problems.

I wouldn't suggest it though, since it may void your warrantee. Apple will replace it if you bring it in. The genius bar guys aren't too bright, well most of them. But they'll go through the usual diagnosis steps then issue you a replacement if they have them in stock.
I have to admit, Apple has one of the best replacement services that I've ever experience. If you're familiar with costco, the return/exchange process is very quick and painless. -
My new ipod touch 4th gen has a much lower volume than my old one, i have maxed the volumes out and got rid of all volume limits which has nor helped. Can anyone help?
Are you using the same headphones?
Did you officially purchase the in an EU country? They require a lower max volume than the USA and other countries. -
I am using iPod Touch 5th gen and my location services doesn't work.
When I'm in other places with wi-fi, the location services work perfectly; when I'm home, it doesn't work. What should I do?
Some forum says I need to register my point of connection using my ISP. Please tell me how to do it.For location the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's database. You do not have to be connected to the network/router to use that router's location. Thus, it appears that the iPod can't see a nearby router that is in Apple's database. Apple continuously updated their database based on info they obtain from iPhones. No one has been able to find a way to inform Apple of a router or correct is location.

Hi,
Try a Reset... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds...
Release the Buttons...
Turn the iPod On...
You may have to try this several times... -
What could it be? if i let go of it then it turns white. But when I press the kae button while applying pressure it works normally! Loose connector??????
Yep, loose connection.
