have you tried holding the power button and the home button for 30sec till you see the apple logo?

My ipad2 was working fine last night, but this morning when I woke it up... it no longer was connected to my network. While it can detect networks, it cannot connect to any (have tried at home and at work). I have tried: resetting router, resetting ipad, forgetting network, renewing lease on network, ensuring airplane mode is off, resetting network settings, turning wifi on/off. I just got Pages for my iPad. I am learning Mac. I spent hours on a document last night that has no content this morning. The document is there but it is completely blank. Did I accidentally delete the content? If so, how? Is there any way to retrieve this content?
I'm not sure what happned either but If you are doing this via iTunes, iTunes should have backed up the iPad first. It can take a good bit of time when you update with iTunes on your computer because iTunes downloads and installs the entire iOS all over again. If you are running iOS 5 on the iPad, and you will be now, you can update OTA via WiFi in the future and the process takes far less time since you will only be downloading an incremental update.
If you are syncing on a regular basis with iTunes, you should have a recent backup. In the worst case scenario, you should be able to restore from the backup. And as stated aboce, you can download all apps again and virtually all purchased content from iTunes (if you live in the U.S.) and you can always sync your iTunes library back to the iPad.
Let the update finish and see where you are then. Come back if you need help. -

That (an app no longer available) happens sometimes.
Your only way is if you have the appt on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case move it to your iTunes library and sync. -

How long have you had your phone? Because if you've had it a long time, the battery in the phone might of died on you. Or have you dropped it in water, snow, from high up? All those things could of disconnected something internally in your phone, or permentaly damaged the internal hard drive its self, or the sims card.

Sounds like you may have deleted something you shouldn't have. Boot to an OS X DVD or a bootable backup, and using Disk Utility, do a repair disk, and while there repair permissions. Disconnect any peripherals, and reboot. If you get the same startup behavior, do a safe boot, by holding the shift key down when booting. If that works, try a normal boot. If neither step helps, you may need to relaod your operating system.

Try resetting. Hold the sleep wake button (on the top edge), and the home button (round button on the front with the white square) at the same time for 10-15 seconds. If you see the apple logo, let go. Your phone should restart. If not?

It probably means you've manually set an ip address of another device on your network to the ip address that your dhcp server wants to assign to your computer. Or, it means that a neighbor has connected to your network with a fixed ip address that your dhcp server wants to assign to your computer. Or, it means that you are really connecting to a neighbor's network and you've set your computer's ip address manually to an address your neighbor is already using for one of his devices.
Make sure that all your network devices are set to receive their ip Address automatically (dhcp). Restart your router and all connected devices to see if that clears up the problem. -

I have an unlocked 3GS and it is NOT jailbroken. It ran out of battery last night and when i charged it this morning it has got stuck on the apple logo wont do anything else. My computer doesnt pick it up either! Can somebody HELP please!!!

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

i attempted to update my firefox last night, and when i did it casued me to have to reinstall adobe flahplayer and adblock. When i attempted to re-download these apps i couldn't. Now I don't have adblock and I can't watch videos because flashplayer won't download. If this can't be corrected I may have to return to Internet Explorer. Can this be put right? in English
