  • Everytime I connect my ipod it re-syncs all of my songs

how can i make it stop syncing all of my songs when i plug in my ipod??

Try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists choose no and it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

  • IPod won't sync all music to iTunes

I recently got a new Macbook Pro and needed to transfer over all of my music on iTunes from my old laptop. My iPod Touch has enough space to hold my entire iTunes library, so I synced it with the iTunes library on my old laptop, got everything onto it, and then synced it with my new Macbook Pro.
However, the iTunes on my Mac refuses to sync any music from my iPod that was not purchased from the iTunes store at some point. 75% of my music is from CDs and so 75% of my music will not transfer from my iPod to my iTunes.
I can't adjust anything on the tab on iTunes for syncing all music/entire library because I get a message saying if I do this all of the content on my iPod will be erased and replaced with what is currently in iTunes, which is barely anything.
All I've ever done is fought with iTunes every single time I try to do anything significant with it and I'm sick of it. I don't understand why iTunes won't simply take all the music from my iPod and put it into the library. That's all I want.
Please, can anyone help me with this?

OK after a long night I think I have answered my own question. I hope this helps others who may have experienced the same level of frustration I have.
If your music won't download from iTunes to your iPod because it is not 'authorised' see if this helps.
Go to the album or song that is not 'authorising'. Select it and push play. It should ask you for authorisation or a username and password. Put in your username and password, it should then go to iTunes store and it will now be authorised.
Be careful not to make the same mistake that I made and have multiple iTunes Store accounts. Mainly because I think it creates these problems on transfer of your library and secondly because you may not remember the password. If you forget the password, then simply get iTunes store to resend it. The only problem may be if your email account no longer exists. Mine does, so not sure what happens if it doesn't.
This in itself may not fix the problem either. I noticed on the left hand side of the music library, met to the song names etc, the '!" symbol in the column. This will also prevent it copying to your iPod. I am not technical, but it seems it lost the file path in transfer. Just double click the song and it will ask you if you want to find the path. Click yes and then search through iTunes library until you find the song. Double click the song and bingo you should now be able to transfer the music.
It took less time for me to finish by Business Degree, but its the only way I found to get around all the authorisation problems
    Hope this helps

  • Ipod won't sync all my songs?

I have a 160g ipod classic, and I previously had a 80g classic, which synced all my music. However, this new one will not. It looks like the biggest problem is with songs that are in multiple playlists. So, song a will be in playlist 1 and 2 on itunes but when I sync my ipod, it will only be on playlist 2. I've tried resyncing my ipod and resetting it and so far, neither have brough about the desired results.
    Any suggestions would be welcome.

I beleive that your iPod got stuck during the update. Can you do a Restore and try again?
Open the iPod updater, plug your iPod with your Mac and click Restore.
If it does not work, you may need to open the disk utility, go to Tab "ERASE" and click Erase, then follow by a Restore

  • My Older IPod won't sync all of sudden.. gives error message

My Ipod used to sync just fine, but I hadn't used it for a few weeks and when I went to sync, it wouldn't.  I've made sure that all the software was updated and even reset my Ipod so it was just like when I bought it.  It started to sync but would only sync 1700 of my 7000 soungs... each time I plug it in, it says its syncing, it will only sync about 50 songs before I get an error message that says..  The IPod "Solymar IPod" cannot be synced.  A duplicate file name specified.  and then another error message that says... Attempting to copy to the disk "Solymars I" failed.  An unknown error occurred (-69).     It also says that there are 2 Devices plugged, my IPod and IPad, but my IPad isn't plugged in.   HELP!!!  And thank you!!

    Hey solymarmarengo,
Thanks for the question. The following resource lists your error message as a symptom of issues with third-party plug-ins, it may provide a resolution:
iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins

There are several ways an add-on can cause iTunes to act erratically, such as those listed below:
    - You see this alert while syncing: "... cannot be synced. A duplicate file name was specified."
    Thanks,

  • Ipod won't sync all of my movies

I have at least two movies in my Itunes and my Ipod will not sync both of them. Unless I have a setting wrong, but they should be synced.
    Can someone help?

Most of my videos are the Pixar shorts and some others I have converted. I would have thought the ones purchased from iTunes would have no problem. If there was enough memory on my 30GB iPod, there is certainly enough memory on my new 120 GB iPod. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a snow day tomorrow and calling tech support.

  • IPad won't sync ALL of my songs

I Have over 2800 songs on my computer .  I was able to sync all of those to my new iPod .  But I am not able to sync all of them to my iPad . It will only sync about 800. i have checked all the same categories in iTunes but it won't sync ... Can someone help me?

    Delete apps or associated data:
Settings > General > Usage    Then wait for "Storage" to refresh.  Be patient - on my full 64G iPad it takes some time.  At the bottom of the app list press "Show All Apps".  Then go through the apps manually one by one to see what you can delete.

  • My iPod won't transfer all of my songs in my library to my iPod

Recently my computer's hard drive crashed and I lost everything on my computer. After I got that fixed, I connected my iPod and transfered my music from it back into my iTunes music library. After I transfered the music I realized I forgot to reinstall the iPod software, so I did so. But now when I try to update my iPod not all of the songs in my library will transfer onto my iPod. Most of the ones that won't are ones that I have bought from the music store. The error message is "Some of the songs in the iTunes music library, including the song Candy Shop, were not copied to the iPod because you are not authorized to play them on this computer." Please help

How do you transfer music from the iPod to iTunes. I reformatted my computer and thought I could use the iPod as my songs backup but now I can't move them back to the computer.

  • 160 GB iPod Won't Sync All Songs From iTunes

I have a 160 GB iPod and barring the normal song-skipping issues everyone seems to have, I've had no problems out of it. That is until a couple of days ago. I would attempt to listen to a song and it would skip to the next one during the middle of it. It would run sluggishly, skip nearly every song, and at times, freeze. So I decided to exercise the restore option. After that, when I tried to sync it to my library, it only synced 330 (out of 14,000 plus)songs, all of them artists starting with A. I've tried rebooting and restoring the iPod to no avail. I even did a system restore for my entire computer. Nothing works; it insists on giving me only a fraction of my music library. Any suggestions?

    *Hard Drive Diagnostics*
Take your iPod and place your right thumb on the centre SELECT button and your left on the top MENU button. Press down both thumbs for about 6 seconds until your iPod reboots. Immediately move your left thumb around to the rewind button |<< on the left and hold this down together with SELECT for a further 6 seconds. Your iPod should now switch into Diagnostic Boot mode. Press MENU for *Manual Test*, then select *IO > HardDrive > HDSMARTData* to reveal your stats. For comparison here are mine for my 2 year old 6th Generation Classic:
    Retracts: 889
    Reallocs: 12
    Pending Sectors: 0
    PowerOn Hours: 2202
    Start/Stops: 894
    Temp: Current 24c
    Temp: Min 10c
    Temp: Max 50c
Take a note of your results. When finished press *SELECT & MENU* for 6 seconds to reset the iPod again.
With modern disc drives sectors are no longer marked bad by a disc scan, if the SMART firmware detects a sector it has trouble accessing it will attempt to invisibly reallocate it to a spare area of the disc.
Note that I've only 12 remapped sectors and none pending. To help explain what the numbers mean here is an extract from the Wikipedia S.M.A.R.T. article:
    *Reallocated Sectors Count*
Count of reallocated sectors. When the hard drive finds a read/write/verification error, it marks this sector as "reallocated" and transfers data to a special reserved area (spare area). This process is also known as remapping, and "reallocated" sectors are called remaps. This is why, on modern hard disks, "bad blocks" cannot be found while testing the surface – all bad blocks are hidden in reallocated sectors. However, as the number of reallocated sectors increases, the read/write speed tends to decrease. The raw value normally represents a count of the number of bad sectors that have been found and remapped. Thus, the higher the attribute value, the more sectors the drive has had to reallocate.
    *Pending sector count*
Number of "unstable" sectors (waiting to be remapped, because of read errors). If an unstable sector is subsequently written or read successfully, this value is decreased and the sector is not remapped. Read errors on a sector will not remap the sector (since it might be readable later); instead, the drive firmware remembers that the sector needs to be remapped, and remaps it the next time it's written.
Large numbers of Reallocs or Pending Sectors would suggest your drive is failing and that you may need to repair or replace your iPod. Check your stats after another attempt to update your iPod. If the numbers increase that again points to hard drive failure. While it won't be good news at least you'll know it isn't some random software problem and you can decide what to do next.

  • My IPod won't sync all the songs

Yes, yes. We've all heard this before. But this is different. I'll connect my Click Whell 20G iPod to my computer, and it starts syncing the songs. But then when it gets to the last couple of songs, it stops. It says "copying 499 of 500" but nothing happens. Then, when I try to eject the iPod, iTunes freezes up and I have to Force Quit. Then my iPod freezes on the "Do Not Disconnect" sign and I reset it. Then it turns back on, only to show the names of all my playlists, but no songs. No songs at all on the iPod.

  • Ipod won't sync all files

after I upgraded to itunes 10, I can only get certain files onto my ipod. The automatic sync will only put on certain files, and if I manually try to put on any other files, itunes will stop working and shut down. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes and restoring my ipod and nothing has worked. help please!

Installing iTunes does not cause content to magically appear on the computer.
Your media is only where you put it.
iOS devices are not backup devices.
Copy the media from the old computer to the new computer.

  • My iPod won't transfer all of my songs to my Library

Just downloaded iTunes on a Lenovo w530, windows 7 laptop; previously had iTunes on an iMac (2006). The iMac is broken and won't start, but I synced my entire iTunes library to my iPod (gen2).
I have already authorized the computer and signed in with my apple account.
So, when I transfer my purchases from my iPod to the laptop, it will transfer all the songs/apps/etc to the new iTunes, but it will leave most of my songs behind. Yes, I have noticed that the songs it left behind weren't purchased directly from iTunes. The other songs were either synced from CDs (e.g. Linkin Park's Living Things CD doesn't show up in new library) or purchased from other online sites. Is there a way to  either sync these songs as well or to manually transfer them to my library?
If nothing else work's i'll just have to download all the songs from the CDs again...
[Also, IDK if this helps, but I'm not used to using windows at all, so there may be some strange simple thing that I'm not doing correctly, so even the simplest tip could be helpful!]
Any help would be wonderful, thanks.
    -NaturalDeath

That article tells me how to "transfer my purchases", which I've already done; it doesn't tell me how to transfer the songs that don't transfer with the "transfer my purchases" option.
You didn't check on the "media recovery software" section at the end of the Tip, which covers non-purchases?

  • ITunes won't sync all of my songs to my iPhone 4S

When I sync to my iPhone 4S, it won't allow my to manually manage the music. The box can be checked, but other than that, nothing happens. On my phones music section, there are no options, other than voice memos, so I can't drag music to it. When I sync my iTunes, it syncs to iCloud only part of my library, and I am forced to download what I want to permanently reside on my iPhone from the iCloud. However, not all of my library is available. How do I get the rest of my songs there? Supposedly, iMatch was the solution, but it did nothing.

Is the music in question selected to sync?
