If you restored to factory defaults/new iPod and are still haveing the problem than an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Thank you for your response. My operating system is XP. When I try to open a pfd document I just get a series of letters and symbols in a dialog box. The top of the box says "select the encoding that makes your document readable". I can choose Windows, MS-Dos, or other (there is a long list to choose from). None seem to make a difference. If I save the document to my desk top I can right click on it and choose an option "Open with AdobeReader 9" and it opens fine.

What operating system does your computer use? What happens when you attempt to open a PDF document rather than saving it first? Please include any/all error messages. Also, have you tried opening documents from other locations or just one in particular?

If you dropped the device and cannot get it to start up, then you have probably damaged it to the point it needs to be looked at by Apple or your Authorized Apple Service Provider, whomever handles service in your location. User damage is not covered under warranty, so be prepared to pay.

I have run into problems with my iPhone 4. I hadn't done an update for a while so decided to get my itunes and iphone 4 up to date. I downloaded all the latest versions. However now non of my third party apps work and my largest one has vanished. I try and open them and they flash up and then close again. I thought the easiest thing to do was to restore so I tried to syn my apps onto itunes so I wouldn't loose them. However it won't let me sync the apps onto iTunes. It ill allow me to syn the old version when I just started but since then I have bought a dozen other apps. Can anyone help. thanksWell this won't work for me...
I had all of my apps and music stored in iTunes, I updated to the newest 9.2 iTunes and did a 4.0 update to my iPhone 3G all the while not noticing that EVERYTHING IN iTUNES was GONE. When I got done updating my iPhone it was late so i went to bed... Next day came back to sync everything and thats when I saw it was all gone...

did what the link said and NOW I have all my 6K+ MUSIC back but not ONE APP. The App's are completely gone from when you nav. to the location the link says... There isn't a mobile sync folder there...

You are playing them in the Videos app correct? Music Videos will play the video in the videos app, not in the Music app.

Ever since I upgraded to iOS4 on my 3GS I can't open iTunes. I'll open it up it will stay open for a few seconds then immediately close. I called support and they told me to reset my phone and that would take care of the problem. This did not work. Anyone have the same problem?
Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

Photoshop student cs6 opens then closes immediately.
There aren't any error message that apear before it closes it just closes as if it was closed manually. I've re-installed but that didn't fix the problem. I can't get that ctrl + atl +shift thing to work.

3. Relaunch Photoshop and resignin using same Adobe ID.

App opens then closes immediately, but only when in Applications folder
I have an app called Cyberduck, a freeware SSH client.
I put it in my Applications folder, and opened it, but it bounced a few times on the Dock, then closed. I tried again, keeps happening, every time.
What's weird is if I move it out of my Applications folder, into, say, my Downloads folder or the Applications folder on my Home directory, it opens and works just fine.
As soon as I move it back to Applications and try open it, same problem again!
Any ideas?With Cyberduck not running, go into the "Library" -> "Preferences" folder (located under your home folder) and delete the .plist file for cyberduck (I think the name is ch.sudo.cyberduck.plist). You can either drag it to trash, or drag it to any location outside the ~/Libarary/Preferences folder -- such as the Desktop. Then start Cyberduck. Moving or deleting the .plist file will force it to create a fresh default plist for that application (as if it were a newly installed application.)

Pdf files flash open then close immediately
Whenever I try to open a pdf file using Adobe Reader, they just flash open and close and I get a plethora of error messages which I have to X out of.
Is this a DRM pdf file. If not, I suggest you use Adobe Reader or another reader such as Foxit.
If so, ADE should be able to open it, as long as the authorization is correct.
If the authorization is wrong, it should just give warning messages.
If you are trying a valid file, the only thing I can suggest is ...
There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0. Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

If you are talking about an Apple ID use Settings > iTunes & App Stores touch Apple ID, sign out and sign in with correct Apple ID.
If you are talking about the iPad device name change it in Settings > General > About > Name. -

Purchased movie opens then closes
I have a 16GB wifi-only iPad2 (iOS 6.1.3). I downloaded a purchased movie last night and watched about an hour of it. When I tried to start watching the rest this morning on the subway, the movie will open then close immediately. I've closed all the apps, restarted the iPad, and tested it again once I got to work and connected to the office wifi. No luck. What is going on? It seems similar to an issue I had with Pages, but that turned out to be the fact my docs were on iCloud and I wasn't online at the time.
If I have a problem with a purchased movie, I delete it and download it again. Most movies can be down,paced again for free if you use the same Apple ID that you bought them with.

My Facebook application will not work. When you press it, it opens then closes.
So my Facebook app is not working. It was fine earlier today but then out if the blue it stopped working. When u press on the icon it will open then close immediately. How do I fix this? I tried to reset it and that did not help.
Try closing the FB app: double-click the home button, locate the FB app in the recently used list, press and hold the FB icon, tap the whit dash line in the red circle.
If that does not work delete the FB app and reload it. -

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.

Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?
