Hi, my ipod will not let me sign in to my apple id and my game center. i am fully connected to the internet but wont let me go on ifunny, instagram, etc. it will not let me sign into my imessage, itunes and my app store. i am very frustrated. PLEASE respond quickly.

Backing up my ipod touch and its not working?
hi guys...just wondering if anybody would be able to help me out with the problem i'm having with my ipod touch? either 2nd or 3rd generation 8GB
yesterday-thursday, i conncted my ipod to the computer and to itunes and it proceeded to do a backup, this then took around 3 hours. itunes then wanted to update the software on my ipod to 4.2.1 so i let this do so. after the update had been carried out, itunes told me it needed to restore my ipod, i also let it do this as i had done a back up and would be able to put everything that was on my ipod touch back onto it once the restoration had been done. This took a few minutes and then itunes asked me which backup i wanted to restore my ipod from, i restored this from the most recent backup that i had made just a few hours before hand and waited another couple of hours for this to be carried out. when the process was finished i took my ipod out of the computer, only to realise that my ipod touch only had apps that i have previously deleted, it didn't have any of my new apps on it and no music had been added. this is a problem for me as i had bought an album, various songs and a couple of apps which all cost me a lot of money on the app and itunes store that is avaliable on my ipod touch, and it seems to have dissappeared as the backup has not picked and of these new things and now i'm wondering if i would be able to get any of this back? my ipod now has nothing but the orginal settings on it. i hope someone will have a solution to this as it has caused alot of upset.Kate,
Are these purchases not in your iTunes library? Content such as music, movies, apps, etc. are not included in the backup of your iPod. These all need to be transferred to your iTunes library seperately by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases with your iPod Touch still connected.

As mentioned - I was trying to set up an iPod Touch, and it kept telling me "open iTunes," so it dawned on me that I probably needed to update it. So I updated it, and now it just doesn't open (it bounces once, and that's it).
For added info:
I have a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X version 10.6.8.
Technically I keep all my music on an external hard drive, but I don't think anything is corrupted (because it was working fine just before I updated it).

Try resetting your System Management Controller or SMC then launch iTunes after processing these steps. If the issue persists, try downloading a fresh copy of iTunes by accessing the second link below.

i downloaded apps from the itunes store and tried to sync them to my ipod touch but its not syncing.i even restarted my ipod several times but it doesnt seem to work....i tried to delete and re-install the apps but that too doesnt seem to work... and while syncing,the apps are shown in my ipod and after the ipod is synced the apps disappear... dunno wat to do .................please help........
Do you have Restrictions set that prevent adding the apps? (Settings>General>Restrictions).
What happens whenyou tru to download the apps directly to the iPod.

When i open up itunes on my computer, it says that i have 2 videos but when i sync it and check my ipod touch, it says i have no videos so it only shows up on my computer but not on my iPod touch and its a 4th Generation.

I have created an iTunes account on my current computer for my daughters ipod touch and tried connecting my ipod nano and it won't sync and says that it is associated with another iTunes library so how do I merge the two libraries?
You do not merge libraries.
iDevices sync to one and only one computer.
If you want a single library, you manually move the content from one library to another... all content will still be associated with the Apple ID it was acquired with. -

I need to unlock my daughters ipod touch and do not know password. I tried hooking up to itunes and going through restore but that just unlocks it and then it still asks for password. Will I have to take it into apple store? Thanks

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer

i forgot my password to my ipod touch and its disabled and the screen is telling me to connect to itunes but i cant do anything else.
I am having the same issue. My son misplaced his iPod touch and we recently found it under his bed. He then came to me saying he could not remember what his password was and the screen said it was disabled and to connect it to iTunes. iTunes says it needs to be unlocked. I have tried turning it off and then holding down the home key and then plugging it in but it fails to go into restore mode. I have attempted other variations as well (Holding down both the home and sleep buttons, etc but so far nada. Just curious if anyone else has seen a problem getting it into restore mode and if they found a solution.

Itunes won't let me delete items on my Ipod Touch
I am trying to delete songs on my newly purchased Ipod Touch, and Itunes instructions say to:
Connect your iPod to your computer.
When the iPod icon appears in iTunes, select it.
If the disclosure triangle to the left of your iPod is closed, click it so that you can see the iPod contents.
Select the item you want to delete and press the Delete key.
However when I click the disclosure triangle the contents of my Ipod are grayed out in Itunes, and I cannot delete or otherwise manipulate the contents. How can I get Itunes to allow me to manipulate items on my Ipod Touch?
Also I have some songs thats were imported from Windows Media Player that had Album artwork. When I tranfered to Itunes the album artwork disappeared and when I press "Get Album Artwork", Itunes can't find the artwork (I've never had this problem with Window Media Player).
I've tried manually dragging and dropping artwork into the blank album covers in Itunes to no avail. How can I add new Cover Art to Itunes, and then tranfer it my Ipod touch?Hello, and Welcome to Apple Discussions,
for you to be able to add and delete songs, you need to enable "Manually Manage" on your iPod. Click on it as described, on the right check the little box on the bottom of the General tab. Or, if you still want the sync to be automatic, tell iTunes which playlists to sync on the Music tab. I find this to be much more convenient, as any changes in these playlists will automatically reflect on the iPod.
As for the artwork, mark all the songs from one album, right-click -> Get Info and paste the artwork in its field.

IPod Touch and iPad Not Recognized by iTunes
When I plug in my iPod Touch and iPad, iTunes does not open, but both devices are recognized by Windows 7. When I open iTunes manually, there is no listing for "Device" at all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest iTunes version several times to no avail. I'd appreciate any advice on what I can do to solve this problem.

Help!! Itunes won't let me downgrade on my 2g ipod touch. Can anyone help?
I just got a macally microphone for the ipod touch and I found out that it's not compatible with the 3.1.3 firmware. So I have to downgrade to the 3.0 Firmware in order for the mic to work. But that's the problem, it won't let me downgrade at all! I tried holding in shift, then pressing restore. That didn't work. Every time I try to downgrade it says "The ipod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (20)" Does anyone know how to fix this?
If you actually have the 3.0 FW on your computer, you may be able to downgrade by first putting your Touch into "DFU Mode", then use the Shift-Restore technique to select the 3.0 OS file. I won't go into the DFU Mode instructions here, plenty of explanations around here and the web in general. Note that this is not a practice supported by Apple.
