I believe the keys on an imac are F11 and F12, for dark / bright respectively.
Try that, I think it'll work.
If not, then try out all the "F" keys, one of them will work.

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If you plug your phone into your computer you can sync and backup so that when you get the new phone you can restore from a backup instead of setting it up as a new iphone

I havent backed up my phone before and need to do so as i am getting a replacement. Who can say? How competent are you with electronic devices? You might be better off taking it to an Apple Store and paying for an out of warranty replacement. At least you'll know you are not using generic components that have not been approved by Apple.

We have an iPhone 4s and can only see the top half of the screen. The phone works fine as far as making calls and you can kind of text, if you can figure out where the keypad is. Is there a fix for this or is it trash? It is out of warranty and we don't have insurance on it.

Two days ago, I have a new iphone 4S. After I installed the OS and start the iphone, I found a strange screen says "!9D/JC" that blocks the iphone and I can not access the iphone until click many times on the "Desmiss" button at the botom of the screen.

I can not see the photos ( Shared Photostream) I have chosen when I post them on my Mac yet I can see them both on my iphone and Ipad.
If I post them on my other devises they do show up on my mac but if I add to them from my Mac they still have a no show on it but in turn they are now on my other devises.

After my iphone got wet in the rain the screen is dim. I have put it in a tub rice for 36 hours but it as not improved. The phone seems to be working ok just can't see the screen.
Thank you. I told it to the apple store in Southampton and they were fab. I was lucky and there was no water damage, the water indicators didn't change colour. It was just bad luck my screen failed at the same time as it got wet!! Screen changed and all is well. Thank you Genuis Tom and West Quay!!
