My mouse won't hover
My mouse won't hover over anything. My dock won't come up. any menu that is supposed to open when you hovwer over it won't. On Ebay you can hover over the pictures they are supposed to zoom, they don't. I have tried 4 different mice and it does that with all of them.
Help??
Thanks,
Noah
Bravo! Would you mind sharing how? I've got the same problem and so far rebooting, sleeping, changing accounts, deleting caches etc. haven't worked. Thanks much.

Spry Accordion on mouse over or hover
I am searching the documentation to see how to make an
accordion respond to mouse over or hover over the panel title
rather than the default click behavior. I know it's possible as
Adobe does it currently on their homepage. Can someone point me to
any documentation discussing that?Use the .js file from Adobe's homepage.

None of the answers to this topic solved my problem. All of a sudden my bluetooth mighty mouse won't scroll. I can set it to 360 degrees and it will scroll horizontally. But it won't scroll horizontally or vertically if I set it to both. Help!
Have you tried resetting bluetooth?
I have been having the same problem since nearly as long as I've had my mighty mouse, and cleaning it never solved the problem.
I just called apple and got them to send me out a new one, but before they did they told me to do this.
Turn off your Mac, removed the power and battery and hold down the power button for 5 seconds. Then turn it back on, but while you turn it back on hold down the altcmnd+RP buttons together. You will hear it ching two times as it turns on, let go after the second ching. This apparently resets the bluetooth and it fixed my mouse, it now works perfectly.
I'd recommend taking the advise of an apple technical advisor first before trying this, I have a MacBook from last year and that's what i did. -
Mighty Mouse won't scroll in Stickies application
Can anyone tell me if there's a way to get a Mighty Mouse to scroll text inside a Stickie note? My Logitech wireless mouse does it, but when the batteries die I have to use my (wired) Mighty Mouse and it seems to scroll in all applications EXCEPT Stickies (G5 Quad). Even on my wife's G4 PowerBook, her wireless M.Mouse won't scroll in a Stickie note. It seems odd that any 3rd party mice will but the M.Mouse won't. Am I missing something?
Doesn't look like you're missing anything at all, strange indeed though!

Loaded iTunes 9, now mouse won't work
Interesting. I updated iTunes 9 via the "Check for updates" menu option. Installation was clean and green - no errors, no freezing or hanging, clean reboot.
Upon restart, the mouse won't work. Standard ps/2 for a Dell PC, no problems before now, etc. Rebooted again. Mouse doesn't work.
What gives? Anyone have this problem? Sounds like a resource conflict, but those are so rare in recent years I find that possibility surprising.
-- MMWWhen the system was restarted, my iPod was plugged in. Normally, this isn't a big deal, but as a troubleshooting step, I unplugged the 'pod, rebooted and got mouse functionality back.
Just to test it, I then plugged the 'pod back in, and everything still worked. The next test would be to plug the 'pod back in and reboot just to see if I lose the mouse again, but I'm happy enough to move on. -
Mouse won't stop scrolling player
Problem: Mouse won't stop scrolling player
Adobe Flash Player 9 (9.0.115.0)
I double click a SWF file.
It comes up in Adobe Flash Player 9.
I switch to another program.
I switch back to the Flash Player.
Just moving the mouse (without holding down the mouse) moves
the player scroll.
I cannot turn mouse scrolling off so scrolling stops.
Esc does not solve problem.
I appreciate your feedback.tech78g:
I get what you're saying, but in the system preferences there are clearly options for
"Scroll direction: natural — Content tracks finger movement"
and for
"Swipe between pages — Scroll left or right with one finger"
both indicating that if unchecked, there should be no scrolling or swiping with any finger movement. Yet mine continues doing both, with both unchecked.
It's not just annoying. It's interfering with my work. -
My magic mouse won't work.
I got a low battery warning yesterday & went to change then today. Well, one of the batteries had exploded. I cleaned the area as best I could (it even ate through the cover) but the mouse won't work with the new batteries. Did the acid "kill" my mouse or is it just time to replace it? I got the Magic Mouse right after they came out.
I already cleaned the contacts before I posted. I would think my Magic mouse would last longer than a couple years. I am going to take the remaining package of batteries back to Costco as they are supposedly good to 2016. I will take the magic mouse too so they can see the damage. Now, If I can only get my bluetooth "Mighty Mouse" to pare with my iMac I would be happy. Good thing I have my laptop!

Apple keyboard or mouse won't wake up iMac from sleep.
After I put my iMac to sleep the keyboard or mouse won't wake it up. I have to push the power button to awaken it. Wake from sleep is enabled in bluetooth preferences so that is not the problem. Otherwise keyboard and mouse are working fine. Any help would be appreciated.
Regrettably, I can't offer a solution to the problem stated in the title. Instead, I experience the same problem.
Wireless Mighty Mouse circa 2007
Wireless Apple Keyboard circa 2007
Bluetooth dongle (a bluetooth thingy connected to a USB port)
Things worked fine until an upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard. Following the upgrade there were several mouse related issues. Those were resolved. One issue remains: waking by use of mouse or keyboard.
The setup (Same for keyboard and mouse)
System Preferences --- Bluetooth --- Keyboard Connected --- Keyboard Paired. The "Discoverable" box is checked.
Digging deeper
System Preferences --- Bluetooth --- Advanced --- "Allow Bluetooth device to wake this computer" --- This option is unchecked and is greyed out, inaccessible. Two of the other options are checked and available: the options about opening the Bluetooth assistant and the one about prompting incoming audio.
I've searched other posts. However, many of the other posts seem to conflate this Wake/Sleep issue with various connection issues. Thus, the advice given is a bit confusing to this amateur. Might one of you experts have a solution to this annoying little problem?
Thanks for your interest.

Magic Mouse won't work in Windows 7 anymore
Hey there,
I've got an iMac running OS X 10.6.8 and Windows 7 via Boot Camp. I just updated a bunch of the Apple stuff on Windows -- iTunes, Quicktime, "boot camp" (I assume that meant drivers and such), and whatnot. Now my Magic Mouse won't work in Windows 7. It was fine before, so I assume the update screwed something up. Help? I know nothing of retrieving old drivers and stuff like that.
Note: I am running Snow Leopard, NOT Lion.Hi bsruff,
If you are having issues with your Magic Mouse in Windows 7 via Boot Camp after upgrading to Mavericks, you may find the following article helpful:

After installing Mountain Lion my mouse won't scroll
After installing Mountain Lion my mouse won't scroll up or down. It will, on occasion, scroll left.
Which mouse do you have? If it has a mechanical scroll ball on the top then it's simply dirty and needs cleaning. However if you are using Magic Mouse then please click iMac SMC and PRAM reset and do both resets 2x.
