MY MSSQL SEVER HAS BEEN MAKING ME ANGRY, PLEASE HELP

Question

i ve been trying to execute the following query in my sql server
declare @doc int
declare @xmldoc nvarchar(1000)
set @xmldoc = N'<ROOT>
<customer customerID="JH01 contactName=John Henriot">
  <order orderID = "1001" customerID="JH01"
       orderDate = "2006-07-04T00:00:00">
   <orderdetail productID="11" quantity="12"/>
   <orderdetail productID="22" quantity="10"/>
</order>
</customer>
<customer customerID="SG01" customerName="steve Gonzler">
<order orderID="1002" customerID="SG01"
orderDate="2006-08-16T00:00:00">
   <orderdetail productID="32" quantity="3"/>
 </order>
</customer>
</ROOT>'
this one was successful when i clicked f5.
but the following wasn't:
exec sp_xml_preparedocument  @doc output, @xmldoc;
rather, it was displaying:
Msg 137, Level 15, State 2, Line 1
Must declare the scalar variable "@doc".
please how do i solve the above problems?

Sounds like you executing 
exec sp_xml_preparedocument  @doc output, @xmldoc; 
separately
run whole script as a single batch..
declare @doc int
declare @xmldoc nvarchar(1000)
set @xmldoc = N'<ROOT>
<customer customerID="JH01 contactName=John Henriot">
<order orderID = "1001" customerID="JH01"
orderDate = "2006-07-04T00:00:00">
<orderdetail productID="11" quantity="12"/>
<orderdetail productID="22" quantity="10"/>
</order>
</customer>
<customer customerID="SG01" customerName="steve Gonzler">
<order orderID="1002" customerID="SG01"
orderDate="2006-08-16T00:00:00">
<orderdetail productID="32" quantity="3"/>
</order>
</customer>
</ROOT>'
exec sp_xml_preparedocument @doc output, @xmldoc;
