My netbook came with MS Works, it's useless. I've downloaded Open Office, but every time I try to open a document (usually .doc files) it opens automatically as a Works wps file. I can't get it to change! Do I just have to uninstall Works?

Just as above, Works makes documents crazy (eg someone sends me a .doc file by email, I go to open it and it automatically opens as a .wps and I can't get it to stop!) and no-one else can open .wps documents. I know this may not actually be specifically a Firefox issue but have tried a few things on netbook settings etc and am getting nowhere fast.
Any advice much appreciated x

I had the exact same problem
It turns out I was using a 20 foot USB cable between the printer and the Airport Extreme and the signal had become to weak to work. Try using nothing more than a 6 foot cable or try a new cable

You have an outstanding balance in your account. You have to add a payment method to satisfy that balance before you can do anything with the account including purchasing free updates and free apps.

Once you purchase or download an app it will always be associated with the Apple ID used to download it. When that app requires and update you must use the Apple ID and password used to download it in the first place. The only way around this is to delete the apps the require the old Apple ID and download or purchase them again with the new Apple ID.

Is it giving you any option to sign in or license this software. If yes click on sign in/License this software to proceed further and activate it. If it is perpetual license activate by entering your serial key and signing in and if it is a subscription then just sign in with your Adobe it an dit will get activated.

I too have tried the latest iTunes (12.1.1.4) in Win7. I did a search for latent drivers as you noted but found none. I am glad it worked for you - I'm still no-joy at this point. I'm able to install AMDS over and over again, without issue - it just doesn't start then iTunes launch fails with Error 7. I have to manually remove it.
I am able to connect my iPhone via USB cable and access my photo storage on the phone. I am just not able to install iTunes anymore. I have attempted resolution to this issue for almost two months now. Until that time, I was content with what was installed. It was only when the proverbial update box appeared that I attempted to 'update' my iTunes. WHAT A MISTAKE putting blind faith into an Apple request to update. I had the same problem with some apps and printer setup software. SInce Rosetta has been discontinued on Lion my only solution was to restore to 10.6 since the manufacturers either have not yet or will not release updated apps. In this case you have to determine how important those old PPC apps are to keep around and if there alternitives that are available to replace the functionality. I would expect a broadband provider to update thier apps if it is something that is required to connect.

That sounds like IE wants you to install the QuickTime ActiveX control.
Go back to the page you're getting the message on. At the bottom of the screen, can you see a long rectangular box asking you to allow/install something? (Sorry, it's been a while since I've seen the box in question, so I can't recall the precise wording.)
If so, allow/OK in that box. After the ActiveX control has gone in, can you see the videos in IE?
