My new Dell doesn't run Flash

I have a Dell XP8500 64 bit running
Operating system Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1
Internet Explorer 10, update version RTM(KB2718695)
My 32 bit Flash Player version 11.6.602.180 does not operate. I simply get a message to install Flash.
I have no interest in using Chrome.

Are you saying the installer won't work on an Intel system? The notice on the update says it will be available via software update. For this to work, I have to install it first before it can be updated.

Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro Freezing After Install on Brand New Dell Optiplex 580

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a solution to an issue I am having.
I installed Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 onto a brand new Dell Optiplex 580 running Windows XP (AntiVirus was not installed yet). When launching, it freezes 3-5 seconds after opening and I need to open Task Manager to kill the process.
I have tried:
Repair install
Deleteing Preferences folder and letting the program recreate it
Manually starting and restarting the FLEXnet service
Running in compatibility mode
Applying the updates for Adobe Acrobat Pro (up to 8.2.4)
Running Adobe without background services
Manually uninstalling and reinstalling

Another possibility to check is the free space in the TEMP folder. I believe Acrobat uses the TEMP folder for temporary storage. You might even consider increasing the size of the TEMP folder. At least this is something else to check.

EventId: 8198 & 1058 on new Dell T-420

Looks like some sort of licensing issue with the pre-installed OEM license on our new Dell T-420 running hyper-V role, the following event is logged at startup:
1058 - Security-SPP Installation of the Proof of Purchase from the ACPI table failed. Error code: 0xC004F057
Control panel indicates that Windows is activated. How do we resolve this error message?
Also I seem to recall reading that with server 2012 R2 when a virtualized server is installed in hyper-V it should activate automatically. That does not seem to have happened and the virtualized installed server is showing two event log errors:
8198 – Licence Activation (slui.exe) failed with the following error code hr=0xC004F057
1058 - Security-SPP Installation of the Proof of Purchase from the ACPI table failed.

So what exactly did you copy over? If it's a 12 gig iPhoto Library then it sounds like the files are there. Perhaps the copy went wrong along the way.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

TM does not work like that.
If you want files to use later.. do not use TM.
Or do not use TM to the same location. Plug a USB drive into the computer and use that as the target for the permanent backup.

This is how I managed to fix the problem...and I hope this helps others in the similar situation.
I tried with another program..latest version of Nero, and this was also stopping at the 'initialising' stage. I was now lost! I thought the last resort is to give Evesham (My PC manufacturer) a buzz. They were very helpfull. Basically go into 'Control Panel', 'System', and click on the Hardware tab, then 'Device Manager'. Uninstall everything in the DVD/CDRom Drives. Then uninstall everything under the catagory IDE ATA/Atapi disk controllers. This is where my problem was, as I only had one IDE channel here. You should have 4 or 5! Reboot your machine, and everything will automatically re-load. I tried burning using Nero and it worked. Then the big test was iTunes. It worked 1st time!
I asked why the IDE channels have dissappearred, and he said sometimes uninstalling Programmes occasionally removes them.
I hope this will help others who are having problems to burn stuff on iTunes.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I'm not sure how to connect to the monitor as the only ports available on this model mac are Thunderbolt. The mini display to display cable supplied doesn't seem to work out of the TB port. Do I need to use a Thunderbolt cable + an adaptor?

Quickbooks 2007 Mac doesn't run properly under OS10.6 (Reports doesn't work properly, and entries often are correct when highlighted but incorrect otherwise). is there a simpler solution than partitioning your HD and installing on it OS10.5? This works for me, but is less convenient than I would like. Quickbooks suggests upgrading to a newer version of QB, but this workaround saves nearly $200.

An external USB hard drive with at least 40 GB should do the trick.
