My partner and I share and iCloud account, we updated our software now whenever she gets a text message I see it on my phone and vice versa
My partner and I share an iCloud account . We both have the iPhone 5. We recently updated the software to the iOS 7.2 and now whenever she gets a text message I receive and vice versa. This never happened before only happened since the update
iCloud has nothing to do with messages (iCloud does include an email account, but not a messaging service). If you both use the same AppleID for iMessage, then you are sharing the same messaging account.
One of you needs to get an alternate AppleID, sigin out of iMessage, then sign in with the alternate AppleID. That way you will each have your own private iMessage accounts.

my wife and I share an iCloud account for photo library and iCloud drive mainly for our family photo management, but we use different accounts for iMessage/facetime/calendar/etc. With Yosemite, I can't use continuity/handoff without dumping the primary photo iCloud account and thus our shared photo system. We are running yosemite OS X 10.10 and iOS 8.0.2... Is there any way to do this?

My wife and I share an iTunes account. Is there any way to set up a seperate one for her to sync her phone contacts, iCloud and music to without having to purchase all her music again and then share going forward?
It would be so much easier having seperate accounts but we have hundreds of her purchased songs on my account and she would need to be able to access these from her account. Possible?
Also, if we bought a song in future we would want to be able to both have access to it.
Alternatively, what is the easy way to sync two distinctly different contact lists to one iTunes account?
Thank you in advance.FYI: iTunes account (used to make purchases) is not the same as iTunes library (iTunes on your computer with music, movies, etc.).

Will we have to create a seperate account for her, or can we all have the same one?
You can but you will not be able to limit what she syncs.
I would like to avoid 'checking' and 'unchecking' individual songs every time one of us tries to synch our ipods to the library.
I don't recommend using (only) the checkmarks to select what to sync.
Each of you can create your own playlists then sync only those playlists.
Then add/delete from your own playlists to change iPod content.
The only time I uncheck items is if I rarely/never want to sync them to anything, such as Christmas music or old audiobooks.
I suggest you each have your own computer login account. Then everyone has their own contacts, calendars, and everything else.
You and your husband can share an iTunes library and let your daughter have her own. -
My dauighter and I share an Icloud account. How do I set up her own acount?
We bought our daughter an iPhone for her birthday and we share an iCloud account. How do I set up her own iCloud account?
Howdy, cdpaul!
In order to set up another iCloud account, you'll first need to remove the existing iCloud account from one of the devices. The following article (while it may appear unrelated, I'll quote the relevant bit) contains steps for removing the existing iCloud account.
iCloud: Features that work with one account at a time on iOS 5 and OS X Lion or later
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4020
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Delete the secondary account.
Tap the Back button.
Tap iCloud.
Delete the primary account.
Add the secondary account that you want to be your primary account.
Once the account is removed, you can set up a new iCloud account, as detailed in this article:
Set up iCloud website

My husband and I share the same apple Id for our iphones, now each one has different contacts, email, pictures, information, etc how coul I change the id of my iphone without delete any information?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Deleting an account from a device will not delete the information from the account, if that is what you are asking. -
My husband and I have both downloaded the new IOS 8.2 and now he is getting my text messages that are only addressed to me. He has a 5 and I have a 6. It is like we are synced together. How can I fix that?
Is he getting your SMS messages (green) or your iMessages (blue). If SMS message, go to Settings>Messages and turn off Text Forwarding. If blue, are you sharing an Apple ID? You should each have your own.

I want to sync calendars with another iPhone that shares the same account how do I do this?
If you share the same iCloud account any data you sync with the account (contacts, calendars, etc.) will be merged and appear on both phones, not just the calendar. If you still want to do this, all you have to do is go to Settings>iCloud and sign into the same iCloud account as the other phone. Then turn the data you want so share (such as Calendars) to On.
You can also maintain separate iCloud accounts, and keep your contacts and other synced data separate and still share an iCloud calendar. This would also give you both 5GB of iCloud storage for your data and backups rather than sharing the same 5GB of storage, and is the preferred method for most people. If you would rather do this, set up a new iCloud account in Settings>iCloud, the share your iCloud calendar as described here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a8694. -
I have just set up Icloud and backed up files to it. I have not been able to log in. I get the message 'Apple ID is valid but is not an Icloud account. I have the same User ID for Icloud and Apple but different passwords. Neither combinations work. I have reset passwords twice but get the same result.
You cannot set up an iCloud account on Windows - is that where you tried to do it? The error message you quote is what happens when, having an Apple ID, you attempt to use it on Windows to create an iCloud account. You can create an iCloud account on a Mac or an iOS device, then you can sign into it in the Windows Control Panel. None of this should have any effect in the iTunes Store (the forum for which is where you have posted).

I am trying to update iTunes on my desktop (running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3) and I continue to receive an error message stating that the update cannot continue because Bonjour and Quicktime are older versions and to contact technical support. I have tried repairing both and tried to uninstall iTunes and all of it's componants and still receive the same message. Any help getting this issue resolved as soon as possible will be much appreciated.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Next, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

I broke my iPhone 4s screen and display. Siri worked to make calls but now says "Siri not available, connect to the internet". How do I make Siri work again till I get my new phone?
If not connected to the Internet, either through WiFi or 3G, you can't.

Basically, this is what happens, in order:
1. I receive an email.
2. The new email notification sound plays.
3. A couple seconds later, the default text message notification sound plays, even though I haven't received any texts.
Is this a common issue? Is there an easy fix? I don't want to have to restore my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0).settings - notification - message - show preview - off
