I'd follow Rudegar's advise and try anthoer repair shop as sadly it sounds like you got jipped by the original owner. Always verify your infomation through the company before you hand over the money!

You stated initially that you cannot make or receive calls. When you call someone else do they get the call but you cannot hear them? Or does the device simply not make a connection? Have you tried replacing the SIM card? Does the trouble persist in Safe Mode?: http://vz.to/1tXDMxF .

I also went and searched Google for a 'Windows Service Pack 2', which lead me to the microsoft site, which gave me the option of downloading the service pack. "Oh good!" I thought, "This will be fixed in no time!"

I downloaded said service pack, tried to run it and it too decided not to work. It sprung up a message that was something like "There is nothing on your computer that needs this pack" or something like that.
Is my computer just so old that it's beyond saving? It is far older than a laptop should be, I know. I bought it in 2003. (I'd also like to point out that I'm not daft, I DID have a brand new laptop - which decided it didn't fancy having a working motherboard anymore. Clearly my ancient Toshiba is far more reliable.) -

My husband and both have iPhones on the same Apple ID. Do we need to have two separate accounts because when I purchase an app he gets it on his phone? Also all my contacts are coming up under his contacts now. Not sure how to fix this. I wanted to add my email but am afraid to do so in case it comes up on his phone. Any suggestions?
Go to settings-store-and turn off automatic downloads. Then go to settings-icloud or settings-mail contacts and calendar (which ever one shares an account between the devices) and turn off contact syncing on the phone that you dont want it to sync to.

My dad has recently gotten a new phone and I got his old one. With his permission I restored it to factory settings and set up the iPhone 4 as a new phone with my apple id. Everything has downloaded fine but I have had many problems with my music. First it was where my phone didnt recognise my apple id, but I figured that out. Then it was where iTunes took one of my albums and split it so all the songs where their own albums. I fixed the album split on iTunes but its still like that on my iPhone. I have looked online everywhere and I still haven't found a solution! I'm getting super frustrated! Does anybody know how to fix this?
No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that. -
The phone button on my iPhone 3G no longer works. Everything else on the iPhone works fine. I can receive incoming calls. I can make calls directly from Contacts. But if I press the phone button I get a blank white screen for a few seconds then it goes back to the home screen. I've tried the hard reset and also restoring orignall settings via iTunes but keep getting the same problem. Does anyone know how to fix this?

To be clear (because I mistakenly typed black instead of blank in the title to this thread): If I press the phone button I get a BLANK WHITE screen for a few seconds then it goes back to the home screen. I doubt it's the SIM card as I can receive calls and make them directly from contacts. What I can't do is view my favourite numbers or missed calls or access my voicemail, i.e. all the things you get to via pressing the phone button.
