My PS3 turns off randomly and a red light flashes

A flashing red light indicates the console has shutdown due to overheating.
Make sure the cooling vents are clear.
What model of ps3 is it - superslim, slim or original?

A quick suck with a hoover should be your first step.
If that doesn't help, you could open the console up (only if out of warranty), and blow around with a can of compressed air, as suggested .
The next step after that is some pretty major surgery on the console, which I wouldn't recommend unless you are totally confident at messing around with delicate electronic equipment.
See YouTube for examples.

Iphone 4 turns off randomly and won't turn back on unless it's plugged in.
    Has anyone had this problem?
If I leave the phone (thus not doing anything to it) for an extended period of time say 2 hrs. It will have turned off and you can't turn it back on unless you plug it in, but it's got heaps of "Battery" left.
Ever so often it will turn off randomly as well, and can't turn it on again.

If your iPhone is powering off, this is not normal.
Try restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup. If no change after doing so, your iPhone has a hardware problem. The iPhone includes a one year warranty.

  • IPhone 4 turns off randomly and refused to turn on until 10 mins or so...

My iPhone 4 originally AT&T smart phone, is what I use on T-mobile as of right now. I have had it for just about two years now and I think it's coming to its last few days. It turns off randomly throughout the day and does not turn on right away when I push either other of the button (simultaneously or one at a time), until about 5-10+ minutes or so. It is very frustrating and I really do love apple products but I don't know, something is telling me to switch to android unless a miracle happens.
    Thanks in advanced.

  • IPhone 4 turns off randomly, and doesn't start up unless its on the charger. Hard resetting it when its turned off doesn't turn it on either.

My iPhone 4 is running iOS 4.3.4 and it suddenly turns off randomly, usually when the batery is around 85% or so. When I try to turn it on the normal way or hard resetting it, it doesn't turn on. It only turns on when its connected to a charger, and the time and date resets to 7.30am, January 1st 1970. I have no idea why is this happening and how do I resolve this issue? I really don't want to go get it replaced as its too much of a hassle and Im leaving to another country in 2 days time..

It also starts charging at 70% or so when it turns on..

  • Turns OFF randomly and can hardly go ON again

Hey guys!! I've come up with this problem last week on my iphone. I just turns OFF randomly, by any determinate reason, it just goes off, all of the sudden just as it would've crashed and then when I try to turn it on it restars at least 5 or 6 times before it actually turns on, takes more than half an hour and it just kills my battery. The same thing is when I turn in off on purpose... it won't turn on again in at least 30 minutes, that's crazy hahahah.

I've restored it last night, and since then I haven't had any problem... I wouldn't sing my praises yet though, let's see what happens. Have you already tried this?
PS..: I'm sorry about my spelling mistakes in the first post, wrote too quickly

  • My computer turns off randomly and won't always tun right back on. What should I do?

My computer recently started turning off randomly, some when I move it or just when I am sitting there using it. I have also had trouble getting it to turn back on after it turns off. I plugged it in the last time to get it back on, but I can't always have my charger with me when using it. What do I need to do?

  • Power button doesn't work, phone turns off randomly, and then flashes the apple screen over and over until I plug it into the charger

I have the iPhone 4s through Sprint, running iOS6. The power button my phone doesn't do anything, it doesn't lock my phone, and holding it down does not turn off my phone. Randomly, the power off screen will come up, sometimes over and over and over again. Sometimes the lock screen does the same thing, and there have even been times when it screen captures my lockscreen. Also, my phone will randomly turn off even when the batter is around 50%, and then the apple screen flashes over and over (sometimes for hours when I'm at work) and will not fully turn back on until I plug it into the charger. I have not spilled anything on it. I have dropped it, a few days ago, but it has been acting like this for weeks. I also had the problem with my wifi, where it grayed out and I couldn't select it, but my wifi randomly started working again. Any help would be much appreciated.

    I have the same prob

  • My iPad Mini turned off randomly and wont turn back on.

I was using my iPad for games during school and it just flashed a blue screen and turned off. I turned it back on and it worked for a couple minutes then the screen started doing weird things and popping up with random thin black lines. It has turnbed back on a couple times after that and it just does the same thing. I have tried resetting it by holding the home and lock button, and I would try and reset it through iTunes but it also won't connect to my computer. There is no physical damage on the device. I have only had it for a couple weeks. It has never been dropped or missused.

  • Help. Ipod Turns Off Randomly And Freezes!?

My Ipod will randomly turn off sometimes, quite often actually. It turns off and I can't turn it back on unless I plug it into a computer. Then it will turn on but it will say Please Wait. Very Low Battery. Then I have to play around with it by plugging and unplugging it until it turns on and the ironic part is that once it turns on it is almost full battery? I really don't know how to fix this?

I suggest bringing it to a local apple store that has a genius bar or calling apple technical support to see if they can help you out. It might be a well known problem that they'll fix for free, or you might have to pay to get it fixed.

  • My iPhone 5s turns off randomly and won't turn back on

Yesterday my iphone just shut off randomly even after being charged at 100%. I gave it a hard reset three times and it finally turned back on. But today it blanked out again and every time I try to turn it on the apple icon pops up but then disappears. The screen goes black and nothing happens. I've tried the hard reset and that doesn't work, I've even tried holding down all four buttons and it still doesn't work.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

There are two methods of recovery for you to try:
    One:
Open Blackberry Desktop Software & Connect your device with PC using USB cable, without inserting battery.
You will get three option Retry, Update Or Cancel, then click on update.
Once it is to the stage of the update "initializing handheld", then insert battery.
If this does not work, and you remain stuck on the backing up the Social Feeds database, go to the second method below.
    Secondly:
Start your BlackBerry in Safe mode.  Article ID: KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Modehttp://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow your handheld to connect. If you are prompted to upgrade, cancel the upgrade for later.
IF you cannot connect or your Desktop Software does not recognize your device while in Safe Mode, please follow the directions here to force the detect:  Article ID: KB10144 How to force the detection of the BlackBerry smartphone using Application Loader
Go to Device > delete > SELECT DATA > select to delete both the Social Feeds and Smart Card databases, and follow the remaining prompts to complete it.
Now, you can return and click to upgrade the device through the Desktop Manager, or reboot the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue the over the air upgrade.
If these do not work, there may be one even more drastic thing to try...

  • My airport on my mbp just started turning off randomly and wont turn back on unless i reboot - help

this just started happening the last 2 days.... it works fine and has without issue.... i think if i pull the power cord out it starts messing up here and there.
i use a base w a fan under.... but it does get hot as **** if not.
but again, it works fine, no issues just this weird airport shuts off and when you click to turn back on, nothing happens... when i restart, it works fine.
i've read all the threads for this type of issue.... tried all the suggested things.... no luck yet... did the airport update yesterday that was specifically made for this issue but its happened again.
i REALLY don't wanna buy a new mpb.... not cuz of the money, its not the issue... i hate the new mbp's keyboard... and LOVE the 2008 ones w/ the silver keyboard.... just type faster and it feels better than the black keyboard. (strange, i know)
any ideas on how to fix this or what to do?

any ideas on how to fix this or what to do?
Have a repair shop take a look at the MBP to make sure that the internal wireless card is functioning properly.
I have a 2008 MBP as well and the wireless card needed to be replaced a few months ago when intermittent issues began.
I had the shop add some extra memory as well at the same time. Really helped.
