My itunes store account shows my purchases but on my itunes doesnt show any of my purchases and so i have none of them on my ipod how do i fix this ?

Purchase history is just a list of your purchases. The actual content is NOT there. it is only a list.
When you download something it goes into itunes on your computer. From there it is your responsibility to move/copy/backup.
Once you downloaded it, where did you put it? Where is your backup copy?

Sounds like you may need to re-download the entire albums from iTunes. See this KB article for how to download past purchases: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519.
I'd suggest doing it one album at a time. Delete one, download it from your purchase histor, then the next, etc. -

This is exactly what the message says: iTunes could not back up the iPod "austins ipod" because a session could not be started with the iPod.Try connecting your ipod to another computer and sync only 1 file or song just for isolation purpose only to see if it'll sync.
If still not syncing, then porbably you may have a bad iOS installed in iPod which is hard to see if it has a problem because you said nothing's wrong with iPod. I just saying is, it MIGHT have a bad iOS.
If you are unable to do a restore, put your ipod in DFU mode, then connect to iTunes and iTunes will detect your ipod in restore mode. Press shift key (PC keyboard) then click the restore button on iTunes. I hope you have your copy of IPSW file for restoration purposes. -

1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...

1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.

When I started up itunes on my PC I get this error: a required itunes component is not installed. please repair or reinstall ituens (-42404). How can I fixed this? I uninstalled it at least 6 times. When I update itunes it deletes the library file, and when I restore that file from the previous libraries or my backup, itunes will run but tell me "the iTunes library file cannot be saved. A folder was specified instead of a file" How do I fix this?

had similar issues with my macbook(2010 running lion) and after a few restarts it would not restart anymore and is at the service center since saturday. i would suggest you do not use iTunes until this issue is addressed. seems to be macbooks that are having freeze up issues.

Okay, update on my previous message:
I have replaced my iTunes-folder with a back-up version of the old one. Luckily this turned my podcasts back to normal and replaced the new 'library' with the old one.
This also solved the problem of having to erase your iPod or iPhone, which is no longer necessary.
So my solution is:
1. back-up your iTunes folder (located at 'User/Music/iTunes/')
2. remove iTunes 9.0.3 completely (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224)
3. drag the iTunes folder back to the Music folder
4. Re-install iTunes 9.0.3.
It worked for me. -
