My spot removal circle is only showing up in certain parts of my pictures?

My spot removal circle is only showing up in certain parts of my pictures. It shows up in the corner but when i move it to the center of the picture it disappears. It was working fine a little bit ago. Not sure if I accidentally hit something or what. Help!

Usually the resolution is updating the Apple Mobile Device Driver. See the section labeled Verify that the USB Drivers are installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.

ACR 4.3 - Heal/Spot Removal One Image Only

I must be missing something obvious. If I want to remove sensor dust spots on one image only in ACR, what's the process? The RWCR Schewe book documents the process only for multiple images. I know I could just go into PS and do it, but since I am processing the image in ACR, I thought it might be more convenient just to stay in ACR. I can get the spots and the clones selected, but I cannot finish the deal for just one image.
MacBook Pro - OS 10.4.11, ACR 4.3, PS CS3 - updated for Nikon D300 NEFs.

Jeff: Thanks for your responses and efforts to assist. Yes, I know how to heal the sensor spots. Yes, I have read and reread Chapters 4 and 5. And yes, the DNG previews were updated too. When I reopen the NEFs in ACR 4.3.1 I no longer see the sensor spots.
I think I have just come to the conclusion that I really do not understand fully what a DNG file is. When I save the NEFs with the sensor spots "healed" as a DNG file and then open that file in Apple Aperture (where I presently have many projects organized - but Aperture does not support D300 NEFs), the sensor spots are still there - in fact none of the image edits are there either. I was expecting the DNG file to behave as if the ACR image edits would change the DNG image. I had lost sight of the fact that the DNG file is still a RAW image file. The edits must be a separate part of the DNG file and Aperture cannot interpret the edits. I probably have this all wrong.
You might ask why not use Bridge as my organizational software instead of Aperture. The answer is that I have had Aperture for a year and a half. I am now just learning Bridge (with the help of your book). So, I am not there YET. I will use Bridge. BUT, one step and a time. I need to learn how to process RAW files and make the images look better than Aperture can presently do. Their tools are not as powerful as ACRs. And Capture NX 1.31 which I got free with the D300 is a mess to use (NIkon users rave about NX, but I cannot see how it could be better to use than ACR). Thanks for all your help.

Firefox is only showing index of certain web sites

going to a web site it is only showing the index of the page not the page. showing that it is not completely loading the page. the circle keeps going around and never completely loads. its almost like i am making a web page. not doing it on all sites i go too. just the ones i frequent like facebook, raceny, pogo.com

I had posted the problem previously & accidently marked the problem as solved.
I received the following message since:
"I am not sure how my previous post solved the problem but since then I think I have found the answer.
I simply enabled Shockwave Flash 10.0.32.18
From the Firefox Homepage it is located under:
Tools\Add Ons then select the PlugIns Tab
Select Shockwave Flash then enable it.

Imported photos from removable drive and only show on that drive

I was attemping to copy all my photos to my laptop using PSE8. Some how instead of having my catalogue on C drive I have it on the removable drive. So the files won't import to C drive cause it says I already have them they don't show in the organizer but do in explorer. now I can't delete the E drive and import the files to C:doc../set/... /all pics HELP
already tried uninstalling PSE8 and removing registry keys as soon as I load from disc it magicaly sees a drive that aint there. Also tried folder by folder add unmanaged files says I have them ...on a drive no longer there!

How to only show bleeds on certain pages?

I have a few pictures in a publication, and I only need to see the bleed on those pages. However, when I select bleed option under document setting, the bleed appears on every single page. How to show bleeds only on the pictures pages? Thank you very much!

You can fake a bleed by drawing a rectangle on a non-printing layer. Show or hide the layer as needed. Because showing/hiding a layer affects all pages in a document, to show one or another fake bleed independent of others, place each on its own layer. Although in InDesign CS5's Layers panel, you can select objects on layers and show or hide them individually, it's tricky to figure out which is which; it's easier to place each fake bleed rectangle on its own layer.

Spot remover tool / healing brush. How do I get the brush to show up and work??

It seems I can only get the spot remover tool to work on certain photos and in certain areas of said photos . On the one picture I really need this for--where the problem started--I had used it once without much success (it was working then, but I didn't do it right). So I left the picture and worked on another. When I came back to the first picture, I brought up an earlier version of it, before the initial spot removal, to work on. Now I can't get the brush to even show up on the frame, although other tools are working fine. I've checked on other pictures and it seems that many times the spot remover brush won't show up. WhY???

Great. There are other keyboard shortcuts when using this tool like the forward slash key and holding down shift if cloning an area that is a straight line. And don’t forget you can click on the word reset. Take a look at this short video tutorial from Adobe TV.

Spot Removal tool and syncing or copy/pasting

I may be missing something here, but I did a number of shots of the same scene on a tripod, and when processing the files I wanted to clean up some dust spots and then copy and paste or sync these clean-ups to all the other images. Problem was, when I pasted the spot removal areas, Lightroom only pasted the destination of my clone or heal, and ignored the source point I had chosen, which was often changed from the automatic area Lightroom suggested cloning from. This left me with a disatrous result with clearly wrong areas cloned over most of the dust spots, and I had to manually adjust the source point for around 450 spots!
If Lightroom simply pasted the destination AND source point for each clone/heal onto subsequent images, then it could have saved me about 1 hour's work. This seems like a crazy oversight to me. I haven't used it myself, but doesn't the Canon raw processing software allow this simple feature? Surely we should have it in Lightroom too.

Ah ha, thought this might be the case. What a relief! My faith in Lightroom is restored. However I still need the subtleties pointed out to me. I find the help a bit light-on in some areas. How do I manually choose the source point? Is it simply a matter of clicking on the spot I want to cover then moving the source point after one is created? If so, I definitely did this for most points. Or is there something else I have to do?
I have gone back into Lightroom and tried this again, and I can't get it to work. Source points not copied onto the next photo, even after manually changing the source point. Is this a bug in 1.1? Or is there some setting or preference or something really obvious I am missing??
Also, I have noticed a mouse-over on existing spot removal areas shows an arrow from the source point on some spots, and a "+" sign in the destination point on others. However when I zoom to 100%, more of these spots shows arrows instead of "+" signs... What does this indicate?

Why is my lightroom cursor freezing and jumping when using spot removal tool?

I have just swapped from PC to Mac and in the process upgraded from LR 3 to LR 4. I have always had some minor issues with the spot removal tool occassionally jamming up or not working smoothly and taking a long time in LR3 on PC, but so far using the tool in LR 4 on Mac has been painful. It is like it is slow to load, and then the cursor/spot removal circle just dissapears or freezes???
This is driving me mental - I want to be able to fix minor blemishes etc quickly in LR instead of having to go to PS.
Can anyone give me any advice???

What kind of mouse or graphics tablet are you using? That sounds like a driver issue. And what are the specs of your machine? There was a graphics driver problem a while back which were causing brush/spot cursors to disappear.

Spot Removal Tool -- Disappeared!

While working on some photos, my spot removal tool no longer shows its brush or any previously placed spot removal 'spots' for lack of a better word. If I try to place a new spot removal 'spot', it places it, sure, but I cannot see the ring that outlines the spot nor the area from which the pixels are being selected to 'clone' or 'heal'.
Basically, I can no longer work with the spot removal tool because I can't see the brushes once I place a spot removal spot.
This is crazy! I was using 2.0. I then replaced it with 2.1 RC1. Same problem.
I tried removing all my presents under /Library/Preferences/Adobe/Lightroom. Nothing.
I tried using one of my old Library backups from a week ago when this problem didn't exist. Nothing!
I'm running 10.5.5, btw.
Any ideas? Anyone experienced this problem?

I was having similar trouble, but the tool itself would seems to dissappear when I moved the cursor over the image. Hitting the "H" key did not work. I could still see the reference lines, just the tool was not visible. Turns out my tool was set so small it just would not show up on the screen. I ran my scroll wheel up and it suddenly appeared!

Spot removal tool no longer shows source area. Not a problem in Heal mode but no use in Clone mode when you need to select the source area. Any help would be appreciated, please.

- Try on another computer
