N72 MMC MEMORY CARD PROBLEM AND PHONE PROBLEM

hello people i  have a weird problem with my memory card and my cell N72.the music player is not opening sometimes because an error message is popping up saying '" not enough memory to perform operation"  but i have 35 mb of free memory. i can play the songs from file manager.also sometimes the songs menu does open from music player but i cant trace the songs which i recently added a few days back though they can b played from file manager. Also in the playlists which i have created there are duplicate copies of some songs and the songs which i added recently added are missing. Also after removing my memory card i cannot  send or recieve messages because error messeage pops up saying "not enough phone memory delete some data first to perform operation".this is really **bleep** me off  as i can virtually do nothin with dis phone except callin people. Is it possible 2 get rid of this problem.if yes ,how?do i need 2 format my cell and my memory card.pls suggest a good antivirus software for this cell as i dont have one.any help will be highly appreciated.

1st, you do not need any anti-virus as that is not the symptom of a phone having a virus...  press the menu button and dont let go, untill another "window" pops out (the one that look like the ying-yang symbol is the menu button) with this you will see if there is any application thatg is running in the background and is eating up your precious memory...
2nd, try just to turn OFF your phone and then ON again, i.e. reboot...
3rd, as mentioned by the other guy, save your data and try a factory reset
do also some search here, there many very detailed instructions here and allover the net...  goggle can be your best friend...

  • Memory card problem on C506

I bought Nokia c506 just two days ago and i met few big problems with memory...
I am using normal MicroSD 1gb memory card, which had no problems on previous nokia phones...
First of all, whenever i take a picture(this is not about video) it simply dissapears, without saving in gallery.
secondly, i cant manage my music files from Nokia PC suite, nor from mobile search application.
As soon as i put them on mobile, they dissapear in files and they only exist in Music Player, but i cant delete them.
and thirdly, somewhy, when i put the card in phone, all the files were lost except one image, which multiplied in gallery and now i cant delete none of them. and at the same time, when i try to manage files from PC, i am simply unable to find it, because PC shows me that there are only two folders on my memory card, games and applications, both empty...
    please, help me Nokia.

    Hey FsdasD,
Have you formatted the SD card whilst it is inside your device? First you must make sure the SD card is formatted inside the phone so that it is able to write to the card.
Select Menu > Tools > Memory > Options > Format memory card > and Yes to confirm. When the memory card is formatted, enter a name for the memory card, and select OK.
Note! When a memory card is formatted, all data on the card is permanently lost.
Let me know if it works or not

    First of all thank you.
I memory card is  2GB. I brought a file from my friends pc using his digital camera as card reader. Then in my pc I connected the card using card reader n tried to cut-paste the file but it showed that problem("Write protected"!!!). Then I decided to format the card from the pc but it showed that message and format failed. Since the file was really big (almost 1GB!!)so I decided to format the card using the "Format Memory Card"option in the phone.
After formating the card I again connected the card using card reader to the pc and tried to insert the old applications and songs in it. But whenever i tried to paste something in the card the problem occurs and hence i cant put anything in the card!!!!
This is the details of the problem. I am looking forward for your reply!!!
    Again thankz

  • Memory Card Problem E75

I bought a new memory card for my E75, but when i transfer data to it the data in it gets corrupted whether it is sounds images videos or what so ever. Sometimes it runs but rarely and then again gets corrupted. I've even replaced the memory card as i thought the problem is with card but the problem remains same with the other card too. I just upgraded my firmware but still the problem is there. I've tried almost all ways of transferring media to memory card but all failed. Please anybody can help where the real problem is? Any solution?

how do you transfer data to it?
do you use the USB cable or bluetooth or a memory card adapter.
if you use an adapter remember you have to safely remove the memory card from you phone?
If you use the cable at the end of transfer you have to safely unplug your device from the PC.
All the above could lead to data corruption.
With a problem as chronic as yours am not sure but if you take all safetry precautions, then its pretty hard to tell.
you could try sending a file using bluetooth and see if it works just fine.
if it does then mayb pluggin the card to the system: using adapter or USB cable maybe the cause.
If all transfers have been done using your system and not Phone to PHone transfer,
    Is your system Virus free?

  • 6131 Nokia Memory card problem

    Hello
I've had a 6131 Nokia for over a year, in which time, the SanDisk 512mb MMC memory card has worked in it fine. For the last few days, my phone has intermittently not recognised the card, to the point where it's not acknowledging it at in the phone.
There doesn't seem to be a problem with the card - I've used it on my laptop through the card reader without a problem.
Could this be a problem with the phone, which I may have dropped about a fortnight ago?

As far as i know, not doable.Sorry

  • Nokia 8gb memory card problem ( semi-empty )

just had a 5800 two weeks ago with a memory card 8gb, it already had some music but i add my own and other stuff and it was cool, i do this by removing the card from the device and put it in a memory card reader and into the usb, one day which is today, i did this to manage some stuff then what happened, the usb connection was last and back again in one second, so i changed te usb port and put it in another one, then what i found is there is nothing, all files and folders gone, there is only one big dump file has the size of 4gb (the size of all the things that should be), 4gb in one file that has no type or any thing its just a file with 4gb which is the size of the music and videos and the stuff that was in the card, so that means that the files supposed to be in the memory card but its stuck in one file, so whats going one i mean, thats it? all files are gone? and what is that big file? even if i give up the memory card will only have 4gb left cuz the file cannot be deleted or moved, by the way the file name is weird but this is the name: USBC╨†┘à.
thnx for reading, by the way, the files that was in the memory were very important to me, i spent alot of days collecting those stuff and there are other things such as photos and stuff that i will never had if the memory is gone, when i found out nothing in the memory i lost consciousness for about an hour on the floor.
    waiting for replys

Hi ,i just encountered this problem while moving files ,all files
lost except the USBC file from SDHC card.so i ran several recovery
soft. .nothing works.i have successfully recovered those files .
use memory card reader.open command prompt, change to that
drive .use chkdsk /f first .then chkdsk /r.if chkdsk /r ran
properly (in my case i got read error first ,trying second time it
shows the progress),it will show chkdsk found no error.
it will show how much space is taken in how many files and folders
and how much space is free.in may case it was 615 mb in 136
recoverable files.yours may be different.in the SDHC there was a
single file named USBC.Choose option show hidden folders AND show
system files in explorer menu.there will be a directory named
"FOUND.000" like that.there will be files that were lost inside it
    with extension CHK.
in my case i changed their ext. to JPG.i got my files.but
in your case these files should be renamed according to their
    original name & ext.

  • N81 memory card problem

ok so here is the gig:
i formatted my memory card the other day and updated everything again but now when i plug it into my computer and have it on data transfer mode and open my computer it says memory card instead of what it used to say which was n81 device or something and when i open it it only has 4 folders instead of the old 12 or so...
now i dont really mind this except i cant put music on my n81 through pc suit because it automatically saves it to my phone memory which we all know is tiny on the n81 devices so this is what i need:
    either 1) or 2)
    1) being: how do i get my memory card to its brand new status like it was before i formatted it
or 2) being: tell me how to save music to my memory card not my phone through pc suit.
    thanking you in advanced; Corey
(note i have the n81 not the 8 gig)

in PC suite mode just copy and paste the music files in desired folder of memory card. and if this doesn't work then try formatting ur memory card again preferably first through a memory card reader in computer then in the phone.

  • Memory Card Problem - Please help

I have a 4GB SDHC memory card that is not working in any of the cameras I have tried it in.  When I put the memory card in a USB memory card reader and plug it into my computer, I get a message saying the card needs to be formatted.  After formating the card, I put the memory card back into the computer and now I receive a message saying "This card cannot be used"
I dont know what else to do to make this card work.  It is only about a week old.. Please help!

    Hi junebaby510,
I would suggest making sure your computer has the drivers needed to support SDHC memory cards, and if it doesn't you should be able to download and install the necessary driver from computer manufacturer's website. SDHC memory cards are physically the same size as SD cards and are inserted into the same slot as an SD card would be on your card reader, but they do require specific drivers to be able to be read by a computer.
You should always format your memory card with the camera that it is intended to be used in, and remember whenever you format your memory card all images on your memory card should be removed. If the driver doesn't work I would suggest exchanging the memory card for a new one which you should be able to do if you have only owned it for a week. I hope this helps!
    Thanks,

  • 6630 Memory card problem

Recently my 6630 keeps coming up with a message asking me to remove the memory card and press OK. This can happen multiple times in a space of a minute or so but I haven't touched the memory card cover! Anyone know a simple fix to stop this? Is there a switch/contact I need to clean?

Try cleaning out the memory card slot and the surrounding area. Compressed air (for cleaning computer components) is safe to use.
But the switch may have become faulty and is in need of repair.

  • VIXIA HF G30 Power and Memory Card Problems

While taking video with my G30 using MP4 at the 35Mbps rate in Sports mode, I have encountered two problems.
First, it will sometimes stop recording and say that the memory card is not fast enough. I'm using a 64GB PNY Elite Performance SDXC UHS-1 Class 10 90MB/sec card that is plenty fast and should work fine.
Second, I've had the camera freeze up while recording. When this happens, the red "operation" indicator on the screen starts to flash and I am unable to stop recording. Sometimes, after I stop recording, it will not start again. In one case, I had to turn the camera off to get it back to normal. In another case, even turning the camera switch off did nothing, as the camera stayed on but would not respond. I had to remove the battery to get it to turn off.
    Canon's response was as follows:
"I believe the memory card may be the cause of this issue. The PNY Elite Performance memory card, while fast enough, also incorporates the UHS-1 standard, which is not supported by this camcorder. I recommend trying a second memory card without the UHS-1 designation."
However, I checked the Canon list of tested memory cards, and many of them use the UHS-1 standard, so that does not sound like a valid issue.
Has anyone else had similar issues?

Update. I bought and used the Sandisk Extreme 32GB cards (45 MB/s) that are recommended by Canon. Unfortunately, I still received some memory save errors due to inadequate speed, although they have been much less frequent. So, the memory card is probably the likely cause for this issue.
However, I also still had the camera freeze up on me again, which required me to remove the battery. So, I returned the camera and ordered a replacement because I didn't want to find out later that I just happened to get a clunker. The new camera also gave me a couple of memory save errors with the Sandisk memory cards. Eventually, this camera also froze up on me, so apparently this issue may be a more widespread problem with the camera software, not a specific problem with the hardware.
I'm pretty sure that every time it froze up I was using the 3 second pre-record feature. I really like the feature since it ensures that I will not miss any action even if I start the camera later than I should. However, if this is causing the problem, I will have to live without it. I have since used the camera for about six hours worth of video recording with no further problems.
I would recommend that Canon do some more testing, because I suspect that something in the pre-record function is causing intermittent problems. I will provide any updates if it happens again, but I am reluctant to try the pre-record feature again.

  • 6230i memory card problem

I've recently resurrected my old 6230i and begun using it again. However in doing so I've come across a wee problem.....
The big memory card that was supplied with the phone and hidden beneath the battery is only 32Mb - hardly sufficient to use the MP3 Player to any great deal. Looking at it I asserted that it was an SD type card and I went and bought myself a 4Gb one to fit in place of the measly 32Mb effort. Imagine my annoyance when, after buying the new memory card I couldn't get it to fit - it's just slightly too thick. On closer inspection I noted that the card I've bought is actually an SDHC card - but surely that shouldn't make any odds? Would it? Do I need to buy a stricly SD card, without the wee HC ad endum? Or, do I need to buy a smaller capacity memory card, possibly a 1Gb or 2Gb, in the hope that it's of equal thickness to the 32Mb one? Or, knowing my luck, am I just doomed not to get a memory card that fits because in actual fact there isn't one, because Nokia have played a huge trick on the unsuspecting 6230i purchasers????
I await your wisdom dear forum members.
ps......I humbly apologise if this question has already been asked countless times before!!!
    Kind Regards,
    Paul-D.

The slot in the phone is for an MMC card. It may look like an SD card but not quite the same. Please do check with the card manufacturer for compatibility before buying. The phone is very old and may have compatibility issues with the higher capacity cards nowadays.

  • N82 memory card problem

Hey guys had my phone since 5th of Jan, has been fine no problems.
Last night I changed where to store my sent messages to the memory card instead of on the phone.
After I sent my first message it asked me to remove the memory card and press ok. I thought this was a bit strange but as it wouldn't let me do anything else I did as I was told.
I replaced the memory card and it carried on working. Now every so often even if the phones keylocked and nothing running it pops up and asks me to remove the memory card. If I leave it and don't remove the card the message goes away.
This might only be slightly annoying but I have had nokias with software faults before and they start off as annoying and then become serious.
    Any advice?

No... I should of said the phone changed it back to "store on phone" when it tried to store it on the card and couldn't do.
So now even when I'm not trying to access the card for any purpose it pops up.
For example. Left phone on keys locked over night, woke up and checked phone and as soon as I unlocked the keypad the message came up.
Also when trying out the n-gage demos which as far as I know have nothing to do with the memory card it closed the demo and asked me to remove the card.
