yea dude..
blue haze is still there.. Some says that it fixes if we put White Balance to Sunny mode.. but the pic becomes yellowish.. sucks!!! i cant understand , y Nokia cant put the base firmware's(i.e. V2.XXXX) camera clarity in these latest updates..
Also, in my N73 the camera shutter sound remains even after i turn OFF the warning sounds from profile.. (but in some N73 with other product codes, the sound disappears by doing the same..)
If at all NOKIA engineers comes by my posts.. my request to them is to improve the camera quality of this phone..! or make a way to degrade the firmware of phones through Nokia Care Points..

    Noticed the following bugs:
    - With 3D Tones on, while listening to music, you get a missed call. Click Show Missed Call from the main screen (goes to Missed Calls in the Log), Dial, phone reboots (but manages to connect and ring once while rebooting)
    - White balance preview still does not work properly (for example on a sunny day select Fluorescent - it should make everything blueish on the display - but it only happens for a fraction of a second, then returns to the default auto mode). Sometimes however, once you take a picture in the way described above, it would be blueish (even if you didn't have any hint of it coming this way), but not always.
Hope these will be seen by the programming team and be fixed with a new firmware release. Especially the camera bug, the first one is not a show stopper.

Also noticed that noise levels are unacceptable with the new firmware update, even in good lighting conditions. A glossy red cup I've taken a picture of in bright sunlight has a lot of noise on it (ISO is set to 100 though, judging from EXIF info).

Help should be provided by a Nokia Care Point to add languages to your phone. This is the only way to get languages on your phone, and they´ll disappear everytime you update.

  • NOKIA N95 EXTREMELY POOR BATTERY

    Hei.
I have bought Nokia N95 last week and returned it today after extremely poor battery performance. I observed following things:-
    1) I charged the battery full early in the morning at 6. I recieved just one call at 9 and my battery was finished at 2:30. Just for 8 hours standby time?
    2) I charged it fully, used GPS for 30 mins and battery was finsihed after 3 hours? What was that?
    3) I fully charged the battery connected to WIFI and did chat on MSN for around 1 hour and battery was finished exactly after 3.5 hours.
Nokia builtup so great device and with so much poor battery?
We will be getting battery replacement? or nokia will be releasing some new battery in future for N95?
Anyone if having same problem with battery please post comments here or its just with my device?
    Waqar.

    selling my n95 on ebay
    battery is too poor
i need a phone that dosent need charging 2x 3x every day just for average general use
gonna go back to my n73 battery is much better operating system is nice and stable after v4 on n73-- i hate the key miss bug in the v12 firmware on n95 --
    i dont need wifi
dont like maps and in built gps as it takes so long even with the assisted thing turnt on
my n73 and tomtom is up and running in 1 min max via bluetooth gps
allthough it would be handy to have the inbuilt one when i didnt have my reciever but my battery would prob drain after 1-2 hours :-)
my gps reciever goes for at least 6 hours constantly connected probs much longer and that only cst 30 quid
dunno i was just much more satisfied with the n73 as a contract upgade
    even the slider seems loose
this device is supposed to cost 500+ quid on nokias website
if i paid that i would be sooooo dispaointed
    just my view
if your near a power source all the time or are in the car with a charger youd prob be ok but i just think nokia could/should have put a better battery in there i mean it plays music for like 3-4 hours then batterys drained a half decent mp3 player will last 10-15 hours and my n73 does 5-6 no probs :-)
cheeses it even more they release the american nokia n95 with bigger battery

  • N73 Bug List (long)

    N73 2.0628.0.1
This model/firmware seems to be a really buggy release. There's a lot of problems people are experiencing with it.
The moderators of this forum claim that Nokia staff do read and take into considaration problems reported here, although they never reply or confirm any issues and they refuse to provide any kind of publicly available bug reporting system.
So, maybe if we collect our problems in a single thread it might be easier for Nokia to notice and hopefully correct at least some of them.
So, here are mine. Some bugs and suggestions below.
    BUGS
    1. [SEVERE] Once I was saving a contact data from a message received by IRDA to Contancts when the phone died completely (with the display on). I had to remove the battery.
    2. [SEVERE] During a call I turned on the recorder. After some time of recording the phone rebooted with no apparent reason.
    3. [SEVERE] N73 has problems with theme installation. When you install too many themes (don't know what is "too many" though; in my case it was 25 but others had problems after installing just a few) they tend to disappear: some from the Themes list and even more from Application Manager. So I have the themes installed and: some of them appear in Themes but don't appear in Application Manager so they cannot be uninstalled; others don't appear anywhere; others appear in both places.
    4. [MINOR] The help text for Themes states that you should press "C" to remove a theme. This is not true. The only way to remove a theme is to uninstall it from Application Manager (and I'm unable to do that due to #3).
    5. [MINOR] Barcode Reader. It's not available anywhere in the menus but when I try to install it I get "This component is built-in" error.
    6. [MINOR] Gallery. Create an album, add a photo to it. Go to Gallery, Options/Albums/View Albums. Highlight the album and select Options/Slide Show/Start. The application crashes. From time to time it also reboots the device.
    7. [MINOR] Gallery. Often when I view a 3 megapixel photo and try to zoom it, I get "not enough memory" error.
    8. Cable connection in USB Mass Storage mode seems to be implemented in a non-standard way. (Or, maybe it is a card formatting/partitioning issue?) Tried it on Linux, and could only see the card as a device (/dev/sdb in my case) but no partition on it (i.e. no /dev/sdb1). I understand that this is not important to Nokia as Linux users are in minority but why can't you do it in a standard way? Practically all USB Mass Storage devices (USB disks, cameras, memory card readers, flash memory sticks) work without problems, but N73 doesn't.
    SUGGESTIONS / WISHLIST
    1. Nokia, please, some more testing before bringing your products to the market! I've been using my N73 for two weaks maybe and encoutered several serious bugs. How is it possible that your qualified testing team which you surely have wasn't able to find them?
    2. Support. There is a lot of complaints about quality of Nokia customer support. I don't have my own experience with it yet so I'm not complaining but why you cannot at least provide an e-mail address? It's always: go to http://europe.nokia.com/A4144989, but then I need to select my country, browse through 5 or so web pages and then all I get is a *tiny* text box telling me "Ask your question". And I need to select my phone model from the list but guess what? it is not even listed there!
    3. More RAM! It is way too small in n73. Just after booting I have about 20 megs and then it's getting lower. A single application like Gallery can easily take 5 - 7 MB and it doesn't seem to return all of it to the system when closed.
    4. Could you please consider providing an easier way of upgrading the firmware? Due to the number of bugs in your software I really need to do the upgrade. But the nearest Nokia service center is about 100 kilometers away. I'd like to do it myself but without a need for third party software (I mean MS Windows).
    5. Available firmware version. It is not displayed on the update page. Some posts in this forum say there is 3.0628.something available. But tried on the software update availability page, entered my phone's code (0541421) and got "Sorry! No software update available for this product code. Try again soon.".
Why isn't it available for my N73??
Phew! Anybody something to add here?

Hey I am in Australia and bought Nokia N73 yesterday and I can't connect it to PC. I am running Windows XP with SP2. Windows reports "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognise it.For assistance in solving this problem, click this message."
Well clicking on the message pops the device driver troubleshooting dialog which recommends "try reconnecting and if still doesn't work replace the device"
    Any help please?

  • N73 - SMS Editor Bug

    Hi!
I have a N73 ME with Firmware Version 3.0638.0.0.30 (It looks like Nokia wont ever release a newer Firmware for my Product Code 0544952).
When i write a SMS and press 3x "0" to get an line break the phone brings me right back to the standby screen - but only if i confirm the line break by pressing the joystick to the right.
    "0", "0", "0", "joystick right"
When i confirm the line break by pressing pushing the joystick to the left everything is fine.
Can anyone confirm this? Is this still the case with newer Versions?
    Cheers.

My 3.0705.1.0.31 also has this silly bug.

  • N73 bug

In my n73 me, which is right now with the latest firmware, sometimes i cant call or use the loudspeaker. a reboot fixes this. but sometimes it happens may be 6 times a day. anyone has this issue? (its been there since the first update). Nokia support hasnt been able to do anything about it..

after you make changes to your music, whether it be adding new songs or deleting (like you did) refresh the library. it may not be a bug but the player probably kept the song in cache memory, kind of like your web browser, so it will still play it.
try that and see if the problem still occurs.
    everything happens for a reason

  • Install .cer file on nokia N73 FW 4.0839.42.2.1

I am using MFE since 4 Month now on a N73 (without any problem). Since i update to the newest FW 4.0839.42.2.1 i am unable to install my selfsigned owa certificate key (DER x.509). i always receive "Unable to open file" and the file with .cer also shows me a question mark instead of the cetificate icon. the only change was updating firmware on my mobile.
Are there any changes in the new firmware disallows me to install certificates?
    Thanks

still suprised they doing updates for n73 lol. what are they trying to achieve just messing it up more n expecting people to buy new nseries devices lol.

  • N73 Firmware 4.0839 Contacts update no longer work...

Today I made a backup of the information on my N73 ME phone using nokia Backup.
After that I installed the N73 Firmware 4.0839.42.2.1 version.
The phone installed correctly and rebooted.
After that I put the backup back on the phone.
Everything seems to work, but the contacts are not restored back on the phone. All other software is.
Does anyone have the same experience?
