N8: are image tags written into the image files?

I spent time adding tags to my recent images on my N8 using the standard picture browsing
application. Afterwards, when I transferred the images to the PC, I could not see those tags.
They don't seem to be picked up by Picasa, nor can I see them in IrfanView which shows
me the EXIF and IPTC data for a file.
Are tags being written to the files in some other format?

I meant custom tags.
My firmware is translated, so forgive me if I'm using the wrong English terms.
In the picture browsing application, you can add custom tags to images, this is how:
1. click on the check-mark icon
2. mark an image
3. click options
4. click the third option from the bottom (add a tag)
5. pick new tag
6. type in a name for the tag
It is these custom tags that I have added to my photos and which I can't see when I transfer them to my PC.
PC photo-manipulating applications (such as Picasa) usually also allow you to add tags to images. They are then stored within the image file itself, usually in the IPTC format.
I'm wondering whether I am doing something wrong or Nokia N8 simpy doesn't have this.

  • How do I read the images I bundled into the jar file?

    I just wrote an applet that uses
         Toolkit tk = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit();
         tk.getImage("blah.gif");to load a bunch of image files. The class file and gif images were bundled into a jar file to minimize the number of connections the browser has to make to the server.
    The applet works fine in appletviewer but trips a java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission select.gif read) when run in a browser. I know you normally use Applet.getImage(URL) to load images but wont that circumvent the JAR file and make a seperate connection to the server for each image? That would defeat the purpose of using a JAR file.
    How do I access the image files I bundled into the JAR file?

    From your Applet class, write the following:
    URL imgUrl = getClass().getResource("blah.gif");
    Image img = getImage(imgUrl);The returned URL will be from the Applet class ClassLoader, which will look into the specified archive (jar) file.

  • How to get the local file system path of an image that loaded into the image component in cq5?

    Hi,
    I'm having hard time uploading image from filesystem where as drag and drop works.
    I'm not getting a path of image selected from filesystem.
    here is my code..
    private String populateImage() throws Exception {
                        if (currentNode != null && currentNode.isNode()) {
                                       Node ImageNode = JcrResourceUtil.createPath(currentNode, "image",
                                                                          null, "nt:unstructured", true);
                                       imageUrl = ImageNode.hasProperty("fileReference") ? ImageNode.getProperty("fileReference").getValue().getString() : "";
           imageUrl = imageUrl.trim();
            log.info("MANAGE PROFILE BEAN IMAGE URL INSIDE IF IS: " + imageUrl);
                        } else {
                                            imageUrl = properties.get("fileReference", "");
                                            imageUrl = imageUrl.trim();
                                            log.info("MANAGE PROFILE BEAN IMAGE URL INSIDE ELSE IS: " + imageUrl);
                        return imageUrl;
    So if I drag and drop..
    ImageNode.hasProperty("fileReference") is returning a valid path
    but if I upload an image  it is returning Null.
    So how to get the path? any suggestions around would be appreciated...

    When you say path you mean you want the path to print out in your HTML? Is that accurate? If so you generally need to constructe that path based on the path to the current component. So if you component is located at /content/mysite/en/about/mypage/jcr:content/parsys/image then the path to the image would generally be something like /content/mysite/en/about/mypage/jcr:content/parsys/image.img.jpg/1283829292873.jpg. The .img. selector triggers the servlet associated with the foundation parbase - /libs/foundation/components/parbase/img.GET.java. The reason you reference it this way is that there is no filesystem path to the image - it is stored in the repository not on the file system, and it requires a servlet or script to ge the binary from the repository and steam it.
    Normally the way you'd construct this is to use the out of the box Image class - so look at /libs/foundation/components/image/image.jsp. Now this example assumes that your component where you loaded the image extends /libs/foundation/components/parbase. If it doesn't then you either have to change your sling:superResourceType to /libs/foundation/components/parbase or some other component that does exten /libs/foundation/components/parbase.

    does a single biblt. The result is a modest compilation speedup, on the order of

    Hiya, Mike,
    It's pretty tough to work through pasted-in code. If you can, please upload a page to a server, so we can see your pages in context. We'll be able to download it and look at it.
    That said, you can do this: Find the beginning of an editable region in Code View. It will look like this:
    <!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="nameofregionhere" -->
    Click anywhere in that tag, between the opening bracket and the closing bracket.
    Then, on the vertical toolbar on the left side of the Code window, click on the "Collapse Full Tag" button. It is the one with two arrows pointing at each other. This will collapse that entire editable region. Then click the button with the two arrows pointing away from each other. That will re-open the editable region, but will highlight it.
    If you have nested regions, you will find the other inside one of the editable regions. If you copy the <!-- InstanceBeginEditable and do a search on it in that document, you will find the nested region.

    Thanks John,
    I've downloaded the exif tool + the gui - I can see how it's meant to work and have successfully processed a single file (even when I got the name wrong it still copied exif time data!)
    I'll investigate further on how to do a batch and use command line
    Really appreciate your prompt response to my problem.
    I will let you all know how I get on - will take quite a few weeks but I am confident I can get there!
    Thanks Mike
    A week later I've now got back into this.  I used the exif gui tool - which was very simple to use once I sat down with peace and quiet for 10 mins!  I successfully copied and updated the correct exif data including capture time from the original backup files.  My metadata keywords remained untouched when I then updated the metadata setting from disk in lightroom.
    exif is a great tool, and I found it easier to use than AM pro - I couldn't  see the photo attributes in the trial download so made it hard to sort by date.
    Anyway my problem was overcome thank you

  • How do I get images into the "images" folder with Dreamweaver CS4?

    Hi,
    I've been following the tutorial by Christopher Heng, on chapter 2, adding images. "Look at the right panel of the web editor. You should see at least two major sections: the top section has a tab entitled "INSERT", and the bottom section has a tab labelled "FILES""...
    I don't see the tab "Insert", but do see "Files" and have created a folder in there called "Images", as Mr. Heng explained.
    The next step sounds easy enough - copy your image files into the images folder.  But for the life of me I can't seem to do this. Can someone PLEASE help me out?
    Thank you - Louise

    Do you mean you can't get your images into the images folder of your site?
    Open the folder with your images in it on the desktop,
    not inside dreamweaver,
    and open the folder you want to put the images on your desktop too,
    so both folders are open,
    right click the image, copy and paste it to your website images folder
    or double-click the image and drag it across into the website images folder.
    You could also open the image in your image editing software and 'save as'
    then browse to your website images folder and save there.

  • How to insert the image or logo into the table as a field in webdynpro abap

    Hi Friends,
    Please tell me how to insert the image or logo into the table as a field in webdynpro abap.........

    Hi Alagappan ,
          In your view layout you take table UI element and then you bind it with some context nodes.
    The attributes of your nodes comes as a field.
    Now in these fields you can set various properties and image is one of them.
    Go to ->
    1. View Layout -> Right Click on ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER -> INSERT ELEMENT -> TABLE
    2. Right click on table -> Create Binding.
       Here you have to bind it with the appropriate context node.
    You will get two properties here
    a- Standard Cell Editor :- ( make it image )
    b- Standard properties :- ( If required set image properties ).
    3. If you want put image from out side then import it as a mime object and set the source of your table field ( used as a image )
    also have a look :-

  • Why does my paragraph tag for images get repositioned AFTER the image?

    I have TCS2 and link my FM docs to RH.
    I use a paragraph tag in FM called "figure" for my imported images. I noticed there is too much space after the images in RH and discovered the "figure" tag is BELOW the images. So even if I map the tag to a RH style, it won't do any good. Any suggestions?

    This might fix your problem. Look at how your anchored frame appears in the FrameMaker document. It's probably like this:
    ┴ ¶
    Which is simply the anchored frame marker followed by the paragraph marker.
    Now try this. Before the anchored frame marker, add a forced space (CTRL-Space).
    |_| ┴  ¶
    When RoboHelp interprets this, it appears to place the paragraph before the anchored frame, not after it.
    This is assuming you've got the anchoring position set to"Below Current Line," as suggested earlier.
    Hope this helps!
    Jason

  • How to get dates & tags written into file

    I have approx 20,000 images that have been scanned & then imported into PSE Organizer.  I have updated the date fields via organizer with a yr for the images which is working fine within PSE but it appears that this date is not written to the file itself... that is the created date is staying the same.  I have also updated tags & properties... but created date is staying the same.
    Does anyone know of a way to get this date into the created field?
    Similarly... I would like to get tags moved into the notes field in the record.  Does anyone have any strategy for doing this?
    I am continuing to have severe problems using PSE organizer (the frequent system hangs) and must now find a way of salvaging the many many hundreds of hours I have put into PSE.  I believed by updating properties & tags and getting yrs into date fields I would have something that I could import into other software... this is not turning out to be the case.
    Any help?
    Thanks

    In order for people to attempt to help you, I recommend that you post
    -- your version of Photoshop Elements
    -- what is the format of those scanned photos -- for example, often people save their scanned photos as TIFFs (.tif) or as JPEGs (.jpg)
    -- also post the operating system on that computer (for example, is it Windows 7 ?)
    My general comments are :
    My experience with the change date command of the Organizer, is that
    -- it modified the date within the metadata of the photo file. I do not believe that it modifies the Date Created field of the file as known by the operating system.
    -- people have reported some problems with partial dates in various versions of the Organizer, so I forced my dates to be complete dates even if I had to guess at the month and day
    Most (maybe all) versions of the Organizer have a command under the File menu for writing Keyword Tags, etc to the photo file for types of files which can support this function.  You could test this command on one photo file and then check if it gives you the results in the specific field that you wish. (Be aware that the Organizer does not provide a means for removing these tags from the photo file.)

    When I view photos on my devices some are not oriented correctly. I used Picassa to turn all photos upright and then copied those photos into the upload file but they are still not corrected when viewed on my devices (ipads)

    Generally I would not use Facebook for sharing any photos, it compresses the photos substantially, and when you have shadows and dark colours you get visible "bands" where there should be subtle gradients, ie at sunsets and sunrises.
    It sounds like you are using two methods to upload to Facebook:
    1. Sharing from within Aperture, which basically syncs Facebook with your Aperture album, so any changes made at either end gets synced, hence the deletions from Albums, although the original file should still be in your library, just removed rom the album. It is like a playlist in iTunes.
    2. Exporting pics and uploading to Facebook from the browser.
    I am not sure how method 1 gets compressed, but I know that uploading hi-res jpegs to Facebook using method 2 results in poor quality images.
    I wouldn't even bother comparing option 1 or 2, and they will both be poor images once you view them on Facebook, as opposed to viewing uploaded images on proper image sharing / hosting sites.
    Your problem is not with Aperture, it is using Facebook for showing your work.
    If you export pics form Aperture at high res jpegs or TIFFs your images will be fine.
    If you insist to use Facebook as your way to share your work, then your workflow should be this:
    1. Right click images you want to share.
    2. Select Export version.
    3. Export as 100% size and ensure the export settings are set at 100% quality.
    4. Upload this pic into Facebook.
    This will get you the best image size and resolution on Facebook.
    See how you go.

  • Is there any form that works like Jtable that can be written into the html

    Is there any form that works like Jtable that can be written into the html or jsp format?
    <INPUT TYPE="SUBMIT" NAME="command" VALUE=""> refer to a Sumbit Button.
    There no such thing below "I think"but just dreaming
    Is there something like
    <INPUT TYPE="TABLESUBMIT" NAME="customer" VALUE={rowcolumn(1,3,"peter"),rowcolumn(last,"name","jane")}> ......

    Keep dreaming. As long as you are using HTML you are stuck with
    all of its limitations. Among these is the lack of a JTable.
    You have several options:
    1) Use an HTML <TABLE>. For plain text you just put the
    text between <td></td> tags. For input you put the input
    as <td><input...></td>.
    2) Extend #1 by creating your own object to draw the table.
    You can do this in either Java or JavaScript. There are several
    examples on the internet of how to do this. Some even include
    sorting by clicking the column headings.
    3) If you really want to use a JTable then you can write a JApplet
    and put it on your JSP page.
