N95 8GB Camera

Hi folks,
Anyway the sound can be disabled when a picture is taken in the camera of the N95 8GB. I know it was possible in the 6670 I used earlier.
thanks

Simply this is a new Privacy Protection Policy that Nokia is taking it seriuosly ...
the reason that you can't disable the sound of the Camera is to let the people know that you are taking a photo of them. Because as what I heared many people sued some mobile companies due to this.
Well this is the same reason also why you had a beep sound when you record a voice call .. you can't disable that too..

  • Replacing N95 8GB Camera Window

Has anyone tried replacing the N95 8GB camera window? I saw this on sale online at: http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=121846&#moreinfo
But I'm not sure if this is a simple task that user can undertake on their own?
I don't think my camera window is scratched (I've been very careful with it), but it is so full of scratch-like marks. I wonder if it is some coating that is coming off.

If the lens is scratched then you can buy a replacement from www.blueunplugged.com
They should never have removed the lens shutter IMO

  • N95 8GB Camera defaults

    Hey people.
Im trying to find out if there is a way I can set the "User Defined" camera setting to be the default each time you turn the camera on? Im sure you used to be able to do this on the N73 but I cant for the life of me find a way to do it on the N95 8GB.
    Cheers in advance.

  • N95 8GB camera light stay on all the time

I have had the N95 for 5 months and have been very pleased with it. I have now developed a problem with the camera light. not sure how or when it happened. Other than the fact the camera light stays on all the time, the only way to get the light off is to remove the battery...!!!
Is there a simple solution or does this need to be returned for repair

Hi I've been having this same problem this week! I'm going to wipe my phone and re-install the software update and see if that works, otherwise it's off to Vodaphone to be repaired
It's strange it's just suddenly started doing it, and it's been a while since I first installed the latest update, when it came out.

  • N95 8GB Camera question

    Hi,
I just got my phone and I love it so far! but I'm puzzled as to why the camera is unprotected? Didn't the earlier version have a shutter?
I'm very careful with it, and really don't want to hide it in a custom "sock" :-) ... I'm just surprised. Why offer 5mp and a Carl Zeiss lens and leave it unprotected?

Incidentally, according to my local nokia shop, they decided not to include the shutter on the N958GB because people complained about the shutter catching on their clothes and opening in their pockets.
    Sound like nonsense to you?
To be honest, yes. I've never had my N95's shutter open on its own in my pocket and it sounds more like the bloke was searching for a plausible answer to the question why the shutter was removed.
I think it was simply a way to reduce the production cost of the handset.
Maybe Nokia will consider putting it back on future models if enough people raise the concern.

  • N95 8gb camera sounds

I know probably smb asked this before, but I just couldn't find an answer to my problem. I want to take out the sound when taking a picture. Without swithcing the phone to the Silent mode or delete the sound from the phone memory.
    Please help!

It's not possible to disable the "click" that the camera makes. This is done to protect the privacy of people - to ensure that people don't inadvertently get their pictures clicked.
Strange, though, that on S40 phones, there is an option for disabling these sounds.

  • N95 8GB Camera Over-Exposure

Ok, so I've had my N95 a while now and I cannot take pictures with it, due to the fact that it over exposes every single picture I take. I've tried changing every setting on it and it stil won't change.
    An example is attached.
And this happens on pretty much every picture I take, to varying degrees.
    ANy help?

    Good luck!
If it's still that bad after the update then it's most likely a fault. Take it to a nokia care point for inspection.

  • Data recovery from N95 8Gb internal memory

    Hello
My girlfriend's N95 8Gb came to something of a nasty end over the weekend. No screen, no keyboard, camera unit's out, but, with a battery the lights still come on. The question is whether we can recover anything from the internal 8Gb flash memory. Any thoughts as to whether anything's salvageable and/or how to go about it? Has anybody been in the same position and succeeded in recovering any data?
    Cheers

Thank you for your replies cjlim and jjegan.
The main problem I've got with mass storage mode is that with no screen nor keyboard I can't really select anything. I suspect when I connect the USB cable its probably waiting for me to select mass storage or PC Suite modes before it registers as a device on my PC. At the moment I therefore don't know for sure the connection's working. As I say the lights come on, so I'm hoping the main board is still in some sort of working condition. Guess I could see if the Nokia service centre could add a keyboard and screen??
Although costly I'd be quite happy to pay a data recovery specialist to get the images back, but I'm wondering how to even find such a specialist. I've searched google for a data recovery specialist in Singapore, but to no avail. They all seem to be fine with flash memory cards (as I am), but seem to baulk at an internal flash memory chip.

  • PC will not read disc which came with N95 8GB Phon...

Upgraded to N95 8GB. So far so good, then !!!. Came back from hols to link with PC to find that the CD drive and DVD drive will not read the disc which came with the phone. PC will still read other discs but not the Nokia disc. What is the disc format and can I get what is on the disc elsewhere?

It's probably just a damaged disc. You can download the PC Suite software from www.nokia.com/pcsuite, as far as I know you can't get replacement CDs.

  • Nokia n95 8gb moisture in camera lens - HELP

Hi, I have Nokia n95 8gb and while have been in a shower I have left it in the bathroom and now my lenses are moistured/water from inside of camera/lens. How can I fix/dry this?
    PLEASEEE HELP ME.

Many people take the phone into the bathroom whilst taking a bath or shower not realising this actually harms your phone!
Steam has entered the phone and turned to condensation and this is never good for an electrical product.
This will probably cause you many problems sooner or later, but for now remove the battery as having the battery in the phone whilst it is still wet is damaging your phone with current from the battery surging through all those components joint together inside with water.
Then put the phone in a warm dry place, where you have your boiler for your home as an example, and leave it there for a few days.
This should dry out any liquid there is inside the phone but only time will tell of the amount of damage has occured.
My posts are my opinion and in no way the direct views of Nokia.

  • N95-8GB speed camera and traffic info ??

Does anyone know if you can add on speed camera and traffic information onto the navigation software pre-loaded for use on the N95 8GB ??

I asked the same question a week or so ago here with no reply
I emailed nokia for an answer and had the following reply
"Thank you for emailing Nokia Care.
In response to your enquiry, Nokia N95 8GB does not support the speed camera software.
    Kind regards,
    Bhanu
    Nokia Care"
shame as its the only thing holding me back from making the full purchase

  • N95 8GB periodically opening camera lens for no re...

    Running firmware v31.0.015.
When the phone's been on for a while (even just sat on the desk, untouched) the camera lens opens up. This doesn't envoke the camera software, just opens the lens.
I'm sure it didn't do this with the previous firmware. I tried re-flashing and starting from scratch and it still did it.
    Any ideas?

Do you mean the shutter is opening? The N95 8gb does not have a lens cover.
