Native Schema Translate - File Adapter

Hey folks,
I am trying to translate an csv file to xml file using Native XSD.
My csv files looks like this :
20111013153049,1,1001010199010001,100101019901
20111013153547,1,2001010199010005,200101019901
20111013153946,1,3000000004230001,300000000423
3
The number in the last row (here 3 signifies the rows above it.
I am able to make a native xsd which pulls data from the first 3 rows, but as soon as, it encounters the fourth row containing "3", it fails.
TIA.

I think "Multiple Records of different type option" is only available for the datatype differentiation. It behaving same as "Multiple Records of Single type option". In my opinion only solution to remove the row count from CSV file or if you try with the option "Complex Type" instead of "Delimited" in Type Chooser window.
Not sure if it also works because generally we use this option in case of EDI.
Regards,
Pushp

  • What is the role of Schema in File Adapter

    I am configuring File Adapter during the configuration step - 6 two options are there Schema is Opaque & Schema file url, what is the difference between these two and why it is needed? If It is required then what are the elements should be present at schema?

    +"If native format translation is not required (for example, a JPG or GIF image is being processed), then select the Native format translation is not required check box. The file is passed through in base-64 encoding.+
    +XSD files are required for translation. If you want to define a new schema or convert an existing data type definition (DTD) or COBOL Copybook, then select Define Schema for Native Format. This starts the Native Format Builder wizard. This wizard guides you through the creation of a native schema file from file formats such as comma-separated value (CSV), fixed-length, DTD, and COBOL Copybook. After the native schema file is created, the Messages page is displayed, with the Schema File URL and Schema Element fields filled in. • Native schema; Translation error

    I'm trying to create a flatfile based on a native schema. It seems that the nested structure (order/orderlines) does not work, although I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
    The ESB retunrs "Error while translating message to native format [Caused by: Element not completed: 'order'].
    ; nested exception is:
         ORABPEL-11017
    Translation Error.
    Error while translating message to native format [Caused by: Element not completed: 'order'].
    Check the error stack and fix the cause of the error. Contact oracle support if error is not fixable."
    I'm using ESB 10.1.3.5, oracle 10G.
    The xsd I use =
    <schema attributeFormDefault="qualified" elementFormDefault="qualified"

    <element name="debstat" type="integer" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="@" />
    </sequence>
    </complexType>
    </schema>
    Please help !!

    Your schema is not proper. I assume you created this schema manually. Try creating native schema using an inbound adapter(e.g. file inbound adapter) by giving the flatfile format as a template and then use the same schema at the outbound adapter end.

  • Picking up file in file adapter

    hi,
    In my IDOC to File scenario i have many files in that to i haveto pick up the file which name starts with 'A' only..
    what is the configuration i have to do..
    thanks & regards
    guna

    If it is IDoc to File then you will be receiving file.. why do you want to pick it
    If you want to pick such files using sender file adapter, then in File Name Schema in file adapter specify
    A*.xml

  • File Adapter fixed length Native format Builder schema not reading the data as expected

    Hi
    We are using a File Adapter for reading a fixed length data. Using the schema we are able to read the file but the places are incorrect. Following is the schema that we used and the payload.
    At the last you can find our expected read of data how it should be.
    With out the record type code we are not even reading the file. Hope there should be a correction in the schema. Please suggest

  • File Adapter giving Translation error while reading & moving pdf files

    Hello Gurus,
    I am on SOA 10.1.3.4 and using BPEL for the below procedure.
    The requirement I have is to move pdf files from one local directory to another as soon as the pdf files land in source directory. So I used a file adapter (FileAdapter_1) to poll the file and read as an opaque schema. Then I copied the name and directory in a header variable and passed the header variable to another file adapter(FileAdapter_2) which moves the file from source to target directory. The jca operation for FileAdapter_2 is as follows:
    <jca:operation
    InteractionSpec="oracle.tip.adapter.file.outbound.FileIoInteractionSpec"
    SourcePhysicalDirectory="foo1"
    SourceFileName="bar1"
    TargetPhysicalDirectory="foo2"
    TargetFileName="bar2"
    Type="MOVE">
    </jca:operation>
    It is working fine for all 90% of pdf files, but some files are failing with the following error in domain.log file.

    As stated in my Original Post, I am using opaque schema for both the adapters, still not sure why the adapter is going through native translation.

  • Translation Error not happening in File Adapter Inbound

    I have been working on a requirement where the file adapter picks up the file and gives to the BPEL for processing the data.
    So, in order to do Error Handling for file adapter, i have been reading the Oracle documentation for technology adapters. In that, some of the
    points which i felt valuable for my error handling when using file adapter are the uniqueMessageSeparator property, fault-policies for rejected messages,
    and one of the action for rejected messages could be writing the payload to a file or invoking any other webservice. .
    In my composite, i have configured the file adapter as a service for reading files, and i defined the xsd using the native format builder....If i put some data like 'aaaa' in the attribute of type integer , the .csv file is being picked up and its being passed to the BPEL without any error ? I believe there should be a translation error...right...
    But i am not getting the error, please tell me if anything is wrong in my xsd....
    Here is my xsd....
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"

    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    </xsd:sequence>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    </xsd:schema>
    In another composite, my file adapter is picking up the .xml file and if i put any wrong data over there, that is working fine, i am getting the trasnlation error, but only here in the case of csv file, i am not getting the error. Experts, please help me in this regard...I am using SOA 11G

  • Native Format Builder in File Adapter - NXSD:ConditionValue

    Hello,
    I am trying to build a schema using the Native Format Builder in the File Adapter. I am using the option "Multiple Records of different types"

    Hi Vlad,
    Thanks for the Idea, I tried using the Choice Condition and I am not sure what would be the condition, in my case, there are 3 record, the value in SKU will vary and differentiate the records. The first record (s) (based on no.of items in an order), the value in SKU column will be any value (alpha/numeric/alphanumeric), the next record will have "DS" in the SKU column and the next one will will "Shipping" in the SKU column. The example does look for "Yes" or "No" starting from the "70"th character in the line. I am not sure how to accommodate the condition to check whether the column* "SKU" contains an Item Number or "DS" or "Shipping". The poistion of the column "SKU" may vary every time, so I am not sure how to add a condition to verify that.
    Here is the Schema when I used "Delimited" in the choice condition,

  • File Adapter Read, Translation error

    Hi,
    I got problem with BPEL File Adapter. When i'm reading file i got scheme - termineted with semicol and without quoting.
    In uploaded test file there was line - first colums;second colums;""third"" column";forth column;
    And the problem are five quotes and adapter fails with translation error. Can i somehow ignore them?

    Hi,
    You have use the attribute quotedBy... By default, the specified string is &amp;quot; ("). If your data includes this character, you must override this default even if the field is not quoted.
    For example:
    {code}
    <element name="field" type="string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy=";" nxsd:quotedBy="&lt;"/>
    {code}
    Read this...

    </reference>
    There are other references which are pointing to DEV, which I replacing with deployment plan. This service is failing at the Adapter call with the message i mentioned in initial post.
    I checked the WSDL Binding in System Mbean Browser - the values are properly replaced with TST URIs.

  • Socket Schema Translation Error when trying to use Socket Adapter in BPEL

    Hi,
    I am trying to use Socket Adapter in BPEL.
    I made 2 SOA Projects
    SOA Application Project 1: Socket Server (Inbound Synchronous Request/Reply). The option for ‘Native Format translation is not required(Schema is Opaque)’ is unchecked .i.e. XSD is given for both request/reply
    SOA Application Project 2: Socket Client (Outbound Synchronous Request/Reply). The option for ‘Native Format translation is not required(Schema is Opaque)’ is unchecked .i.e. XSD is given for both request/reply
    Socket Client which is exposed as Web Service invokes Socket Server.
    1.     <summary>Exception occurred when binding was invoked. Exception occurred during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'OutboundRequestReply' failed due to: Socket Schema Translation Error. Socket Schema Translation Error. Error while trying to translate from native. Please ensure that the schemas are set up with native annotations and comply with the output XML. Contact Oracle support if error is not fixable. ". The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception. Please examine the above error message carefully to determine a resolution. </summary>

    Has anybody faced this issue?

    Hi guys:
    I got exactly the same error. I recently installed BPEL Process Manager for Developers 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) in windows XP.
    The default setting for BPEL VM memory is Xms512m -Xmx512m -Xmn300m. I tried to set maximum size to 1024 but I had this error.
    Error occurred during initialization of VM
    Could not reserve enough space for object heap
    if any body can suggest a solution will be great .
    Thanks.

  • File Adapter - Native format Builder button not Appearing

    Hi,
    When We go through the file adapter wizard and on the screen where we define the schema, there is a button 'Native format builder'. But on Jdeveloper Version - 11.1.1.3.0, it is not appearing. Has this been removed in this release?
    regards,
    Rajesh

    at step 8 of 9 of the file adapter wizard, the icon appears as a cog, on the right, with caption "define schema for native format".
    I have JDev 11..1.1.3.0
    The problem might be with the version of the SOA extensions you have installed....

  • Reciever File Adapter - Temp File Name Scheme using Variable Substitution

    How can I create a temporary file that uses variable substitution?
    We are having a problem with files merging when we write files using the "Use Temporary File" setting on the FIle Adapter.  So two independent files are merging into a single file.  We are not using the "Append" setting.
    We would like to use a Temp File Name Scheme that would append the message id onto the temporary file name.
    Using variable substitution we created a msgid variable.  When added to the temporary file name using %msgid% the temporary file name is created with %msgid% in the name instead of the actual message id.  We put the variable into the "File Name Scheme" as well and the end completed file used the message id in the name.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks,
    Matt

    HI Matthew,
    Why are you adding the message id into the temporary file??
    I understand that you want the output of the filename to contain message id .. and hence you are using variable substitution for the same.
    Temporary file name will anyways get overwritten by the actual file name (here the actual filename will be using variable substituion).
    So i suggest to achieve your scenario you can add any name in the temporary file and maintain the desired filename you require as output in the variable subsititution.
    Temporary File Name option actually acts as a lock - unlock mechanism from PI side while the file is getting written to the file server so that while PI is writting the file no third party application batch program picks it up.
    I hope this helps.

  • File Adapter - Native Format Builder

    Dear All,
    In File Adapter - Native Format Builder exists option "Number of rows to skip". But this means how many rows from beginning of file to skip,
    can somebody help to define how to skip n rows from the end of file.
    Thanks in advance!

    There is no option available to skip rows from end. But if you know how many rows are there in the file and how many you want to skip, then you can use the option of "Number of data rows to process" and process only number of rows you want to actually process.
