NavigateToURL(new URLRequest) with mailTo tag

I am using the following code to send an email message, which works in development.

It still works when loaded and launched from the swf embedded in a swf, but it also first tries to navigate to a new url by openign a new window/tab in IE7. Is there something better than the mailTo: tag to use?
Also, I tried removing the targwt parameter, it does nto work without it being identified....

you can user server-side code if you don't want to rely on the user having a default email program. and you can use "_self" instead of "_blank" if you want to use the user's default email program but don't want to open another window.

Looking at the XFILES.5.xml file and Install.vbs files of the XFILES installer, it appears that the XDBPM_SUPPORT and XFILES_DBA_TASKS actions will only be run if you enter a SYSDBA user in the "DBA User" field of the installer. However, for some reason, Oracle seems to have commented out the command that checks to ensure that the DBA user you entered is a SYSDBA user, and the "DBA User" field defaults to SYSTEM, which is not a SYSDBA user. Since I got things working I haven't tried rerunning the installer with a SYSDBA user, but maybe it will work better. The installation documentation and/or the installation scripts need to be updated to reflect the need for a SYSDBA user.
Regarding the APEX version of XFILES, this has not installation instructions whatsoever, and there are prerequisite steps to get this to install correctly as well. I tried importing the f102.sql file into APEX and it failed on the prereq validation because an "XFILES/Apex" folder wasn't found in XML DB. I went looking for anything that creates this directory and I found that there is another XFILES_DBA_TASKS.sql script specifically for the APEX version. It is included in the f102.sql file. So I cut and paste the contents into SQL*Plus and ran it as SYS. I was then able to install the f102 application. -

In a website, when an email link is clicked, the "mailto:email@address" tag is called, which opens the default mail client.
A friend has Yahoo web mail as his default mail client. When he clicks on such an email link in a website, the TO address appears in the new email form prepended with the "mailto:" tag, as in mailto:[email protected] This of course bounces.

I own elements 9. All files were backed up to a external hard drive and then downloaded to a new PC, with windows 8. I have lost all my pictures, albums and tagging. How do I retrieve all of this back into Elements 9?
It appears that you have made a backup via Windows and not via the integrated backup/restore process in the organizer. Since the albums and tagging are stored in catalogs, they are lost unless you also made a backup of the catalogs themselves.

Proper merging of new face detect tags with previous tags
Hi,
In PSE7 I had thousands of photos tagged with People tags. The way I had my people tags was somewhat odd but it worked very well for me. For example, I had one tag per person for popular poeple (my wife and daughters) but I also have one tag for one group of people (i.e. The Smiths, or my daughter's friends) where the tag would be placed in any pic with "any" member of that group. This way I did not ended up with hundreds of individual people tags and it was very easy to apply the tags.
Since I wanted to try the new face tagging feature in PSE8 (which I liked and thus will continue to use), I now have my old people tags PLUS the new face detect tags. For example, I have two tags for Claudia, my daughter and so on.
Q1: What is the proper way to merge these duplicated tags? Should I just add all the photos from the old people tag to the new (face detected) tags by dragging/droping the new face tag icon to the selected pics?
Q2: How can I make my group tagging strategy work with the new automatic face detect tagging? which is basically a one tag for one person kind of thing.
Q3: Since we are on the subject of smart tags... I don't see the value in the auto analyze feature and thus would like to erase all those smart tags (high quality, blur, etc). Is there a way to delete these tags without deleting the face detect tags?

Yes. Note that when using face tagging, you can type in the name of a pre-existing People tag and PSE should use that tag (at least it does in my catalog). But you need to type it in exactly -- otherwise, PSE will create a new one. Once you've typed an existing People tag once into face tagging, PSE will then "auto-complete" it in the future.

I think you need to bite the bullet and create one tag for each person. But the auto-complete tag-typing feature of PSE should make that easier than when you had to painfully scroll your tag heirarchy and drag over a tag.

Does anyone see the value of Auto-Analyzer? :-; To delete one of those tags, check it to show just the photos with that tag. Then do Edit > Select All, right click Remove Keyword Tag. -
NavigateToURL where URLRequest method = POST always defaults to GET

I'm trying to invoke a PHP URL using the HTTP POST method combined with parameters to pass to a form. The test app is an AIR application as per the code below. Whilst the default browser is launched with the URL specified, my issue is that the method used at runtime is always HTTP GET not POST. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'd be really grateful if somebody could review and point out my mistake!

Mailto tag appears in yahoo mail
If I go to a website (my own or others),
and click on a link that uses the "mailto" tag,
and have Firefox use my existing Yahoo Mail account
as my e-mail application,
then the word "mailto:" (without the quotes) will appear
in the "To" name, along with the desired e-mail address
(e.g., "mailto:[email protected]" (without the double-quotes)).
This will not work when I attempt to send the message;
in other words, I have to manually remove the "mailto:" tag,
which shouldn't be there in the first place.

Thank you for your time.I do not use any Firefox or third-party toolbars, so that is not the issue. It's just something about the mailto tag with Yahoo mail, if not other web-based e-mails. And, as far as I know, it doesn't matter whether you use the classic or newer version of Yahoo mail.

How to deal with empty tags in a SAX Parser

I hope someone can help me with the problem I am having!
Basically, I have written an xml-editor application. When an XML file is selected, I parse the file with a SAX parser and save the start and end locations of all the tags and character data. This enables me to display the xml file with the tags all nicely formatted with pretty colours. Truly it is a Joy To Behold. However, I have a problem with tags in this form:
<package name="boo"/>
because the SAX parser treats them like this:
<package name = boo>
</package>
for various complex reasons the latter is unaccetable so my question is: Is there some fiendishly clever method to detect tags of this type as they occur, so that I can treat them accordingly?

How can I apply a new style with a snippet and make DW remove artifacts of the old style?

I am using Dreamweaver CS5 on Windows XP SP3. My problem seems simple but the resolution remains elusive.
Let's say I am editing pasted-in text from MS Word that DW has auto-formatted. I highlight some text and use a snippet to enclose the text in h2.
Instead of deleting the former style and replacing it with h2, DW applies the h2, but copies the old style, enclosing nothing, and bumps it to the next line. If the old style included a paragraph tag, that throws in extra white space. For nothing at all.
Now, this seems like a minor thing, but it's not so minor when you are trying to quickly prepare a large document with various header styles. Having to make dozens of edits that I think should be completely unnecessary becomes a real burden.
Is there a way to enclose a bit of text in a new style with a snippet without having the old style stick around?

Michael SalmonsMaybe auto-format is not the correct terminology, but DW does interpret MS Word formatting in some way,and in a way I cannot control (well, I can to a limited degree). The term that popped into my head describing this process was automatic formatting.
I don't really want to paste in as text, then I have to touch everything. I mean, I do frequently end up touching everything in a document anyway, but if any decisions can be "automated," I like to at least give it a try.
DW makes mostly good guesses* about Word formatting (*or whatever mechanism translates word formatting to html in DW). Even if it is just a little wrong, it saves me a lot of time. <p><strong> can be converted to <h2> faster than text that only has a CRLF to distinguish it from surrounding text.
I'm not mixing any styles. I control the style absolutely. I would just like to know how to use snippets in a way that truly replaces the Word-suggested tags rather than preserving them for no good reason. Perhaps there is no way to do that, or I so fundamentally misunderstand snippets I am fooling myself. -
I'm using Lion 10.7.2 and iTunes 10.5.2
I have moved my iTunes music from an external hard drive onto my new iMac (with a terabyte hard drive) with music folder organized - when I try to play some tracks I get the iTunes can't locate warning and so I follow through and show iTunes the track - they are all in the music folder on my iMac hard drive - they all copied over and they all appear in the iTunes library list - so far as I can tell out of a 500 gigabyte music collection - but there are so many giving me the error - many other tracks function as they should too, some work others don't - So I'm looking for a way to get all the error tracks fixed in a batch correction way. Doing this individually with each track just isn't realistic.
Can anyone suggest how I might fix this issue?
Also, after I show iTunes the song location and it plays, I get a find files prompt that looks like it wants to find other files, but that just causes the process to jam and I have to force quit iTunes and then it doesn't remember what I last showed it next time I open iTunes.
Also I'm trying to avoid the use of the consolidate function because that would copy a whole other set of music - not in iTunes - that is in the process of being edited (audio hijack pro and fission tools being used to put vinyl and tapes to mp3) But all that other music just means the consolodate function across my whole computer would be too much.Some details seem to be coming into focus - I have started scrolling through the main library list A to Z repairing tracks individually (there are thousands, but it's what works so far) - as I work through, it appears the problem occurred on tracks where album artist metadata was different than song artist metadata, predominantly. I'm not sure that is 100% the case in every instance, but that is what it's looking like. I don't why that happened, must be some technical glich I guess.
Also, I tried running Doug's Scripts - the one titled, iTunes Track CPR v1.3 - it is supposed to fix exactly the kind of issue I'm having - I bet it would work for some people with a similar issue - but for my case it only identifies the 'de-linked' tracks and doesn't repair them - that is at least helpful as I scroll though to fix them - I can see exactly which tracks have the issue quickly after running that script - but iTunes doesn't remember that warning symbol after a log-out, so it's only worth running the script on a set of tracks I intend to review and fix in any given session at a time.

hubi's scripts work for batch selections of tracks - so if you import an album and find the metadata screwed up somehow, you can select the whole set of screwed up tags at once (even across a series of albums), run the easy to use script, and watch it all be fixed automatically while you sit back and relax...

LouI have a similar problem: I switched from mac mail to Outlook 2011 as the default client, and want to switch back. Mailto links (eg from browser etc) default to Mail. However, when I try to email a Word document as an attachment, it continues to open Outlook. Outlook has a button in its prefs for making it the default client, but I don't see a way to turn this pref off in either Outlook or in Word.

I transferred all of my music from an older PC to my new one with Windows 7. Now I cannot edit selected songs. The information is greyed out and I can't type over it (on all my music except NEW downloads). Can anyone help? I even have a few songs with NO artist tag and I can't write anything in them either.
It's a permissions problem. Try this: right click on your iTunes icon and choose "run as administrator" that might fix it.

How to Reconcile Photoshop Elements 12 Organizer's New People with Previous Versions.
On updating earlier version catalog (Photoshop Elements 10) to Version 12, the older version's "People" tags were not converted to new People (Faces) tags. Images with People tags but not tagged faces were also not converted. Now I have a mess of Family Tags and Group Tages representing people. Nearly all of the new (ver. 12) People groups, when clicked, respond that no media exist. Hours on telephone with Adobe Technicians has been useless. They cannot seem to relate to problem. It must not be in the manual from which they are reciting. At this point, number of crashes and quirks in Photoshop Elements 12 are making me rethink whether I want to stay with Adobe Products at all.
You simply need to create your stills with Photoshop Elements, save them in a suitable format (.jpg, .png, .tiff are all acceptable) then drag and drop them into your iMovie timeline. You don't have to use iPhoto.
